Abstract

Giritengah Village is one of the villages with tourism potential, strategically located in the Menoreh hills, best known for the landmass movement on Java Island. This study aimed to identify the biophysical conditions of the land that could trigger landslides in the Menoreh Hills, especially in Giritengah Village. This research was carried out in two stages divided into identifying the occurrence of landslides and identifying the land conditions. There were 33 landslides in 28 locations, with 3 locations of repeated landslides two times and 1 location of repeated landslides three times in the 2015-2021 period. Landslides In Giritengah Village are classified as shallow slides and deep slides, also a flat slip plane or translational landslide. The trend of landslides experienced a sharp increase in 2018 as many as nine events. A decrease that influenced this trend was community activity in maintaining irrigation channels. Based on the overall biophysical conditions observed and analyzed in this study, there are two patterns of landslide drift in Giritengah Village. The first pattern was a landslide at very steep slope conditions, little vegetation with low density, and not too thick soil solum. The second pattern was a landslide at steep slope conditions, thick soil solum to very thick, and lots of vegetation with medium density. These two patterns create a stronger driving force than the restraining force, making Giritengah Village a landslide-prone area.

Abstract

Nganjuk Regency is one of the highest red onion producers in East Java, but its productivity is not followed by a commensurate productivity yet. One of the causes is the attack of plant-disturbing organisms and chemical pesticides which are often the most effective way. Adoption of technological innovations for planting Refugia plants is an alternative in overcoming problems. Several roles of actors are needed to communicate with each other regarding this matter. This study aims to: 1) Analyze the communication network of farmers adopting technological innovations; (2) Analyzing the effect of farmers' characteristics and farming on the communication network; (3) Analyzing the effect of farmer communication networks on the adoption of technological innovations. The method used is a sociogram to determine the distribution of information on farmer groups and related parties. To determine the effect of the characteristics of farmers and farming on communication networks and the effect of communication networks on the adoption of technological innovations using regression analysis. The results of the study show that there is a role in the communication network, namely the head of each farmer group as opinion leader, active and dominant farmers as bridges and farmers who have other main jobs as isolated. Characteristics of farmers and farming have a significant effect on the communication network, so that it has a positive impact on the dissemination of information. The communication network also has a significant effect on the adoption of technological innovations so that the process of using the adoption of refugia plant innovations on red onion plants can be carried out because of the openness of farmers to existing information

Abstract

The growth of kale is strongly influenced by environmental conditions, one of which is the level of soil fertility. Soil with less fertile conditions can cause plants to grow not optimally. This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of organic fertilizers on the growth of kale on marginal soils. This study used a randomized block design with a combination dose of organic fertilizer consisting of 5 levels of treatment, namely control (P0), 5 tons ha-1 (P1), 10 tons ha-1 (P2), 15 tons ha-1 (P3). ), and 20 tons ha-1 (P4). The variables observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of branches and fresh weight. Observational data were analyzed for variance, which showed a significant effect followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the combination treatment of organic fertilizer had a significant effect on the growth of kale. The best combination treatment of organic fertilizer was obtained by treatment of cow dung + chicken at a dose of 20 tons ha-1 (P4) with an increase in fresh weight of kale by 87.49% compared to the control
