Abstract

This study aimed to calculate the speed of growth characterized by the emergence of shoots and percentage of successful growth of red betel cuttings cuttings given plant growth regulator cow urine. The study consisted of two treatments, namely: first treatment, red betel cuttings soaked in concentration 30% cow urine, and second treatment, red betel cuttings soaked in concentration 50% cow urine. The results showed that immersion with cow urine in the first treatment (red betel cuttings soaked using cow urine by concentration 30%) and second (soaking red betel cuttings with concentration 50%) gave the same results in the speed of growth that showed speed buds appear on 5th day, while the best percentage growth of red betel cuttings in the second treatment was 100% followed by the first treatment of 83%.

Abstract

Fertilization is one of the efforts made to add nutrients in the soil and can increase plant growth and yield. Currently, organic fertilizers based on local resources have been developed considering the negative impact of excessive inorganic use. The use of fertilizers made from local resources in Merauke Regency is important to develop and study its potential. The purpose of this study was to analyze the potential combination of organic fertilizer content based on sago dregs. The study lasted for 1 month with organic fertilizer fermentation carried out at the Agrotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Musamus University and the nutrient levels of organic fertilizers in the form of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, iron, zinc, pH, and water content were analyzed at the Biotrope Laboratory. The treatment in this study consisted of various organic materials in Merauke Regency with the main ingredients of sago dregs, namely lamtoro leaves + pig manure (P1), sago dregs + pig manure (P2), sago dregs + lamtoro leaves (P3), sago dregs + lamtoro leaves. + pig dung (P4), sago dregs + chicken manure (P5) and sago dregs + cow dung (P6). The treatment used a ratio of 2:1 (v/v) on each composition of the treatment material. The results of the analysis show that the nutrient content of organic fertilizer based on sago dregs varies depending on the composition of the material and has the potential to be used to increase crop production. The highest nitrogen, C/N and C-Organic levels were obtained in the treatment of sago dregs + pig manure, the highest phosphorus content was obtained in the treatment of sago dregs + chicken and the highest potassium was found in the composition of lamtoro leaf compost + pig manure.

Abstract

One of the causes of low oil palm production is the presence of weeds, so weed control efforts are needed. One of the weed control methods is chemical weed control using herbicides. Methyl metsulfuron herbicide is one of the active ingredients of herbicides. The aim of this study was to obtain the optimal dose of methyl metsulfuron to control wire fern weed (Dicranopteris linearis) in immature oil palm plantations. The method used was a randomized block design (RAK) with 8 levels of treatment, namely A (methyl metsulfuron 15 g.b.a/ha), B (methyl metsulfuron 50 g.b.a/ha), C (methyl metsulfuron 85 g.b.a/ha), D (methyl metsulfuron 15). g.b.a/ha + adhesive), E (methyl metsulfuron 50 g.b.a/ha+ adhesive), F (methyl metsulfuron 85 g.b.a/ha+ adhesive), G (manual weeding), H (without control and herbicide). All treatments were replicated 3 times. Parameters observed were weed mortality, weed dry weight and phytotoxicity. Data analysis used linear model variance with a significance of 5%, if there was a significant difference, it was continued with the Ducan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) further test. The results showed that the mortality of Dicranopteris linearis weeds with the herbicide methyl metsulfuron 85 g.b.a/ha was significantly different from the treatment with methyl metsulfuron 15-50 g.b.a/ha. Weed dry weight with the herbicide methyl metsulfuron 15-85 g.b.a/ha and manual control was significantly different from that without control. Weed control with methyl metsulfuron herbicide does not cause phytotoxicity.

Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a food crop as an energy source that is generally consumed by the Indonesian people so that demand continues to increase every year. One of the efforts to increase rice production can be done through the use of young seedlings and microbes to accelerate the process of soil fertilization. This microbe is obtained from the Mas Conch Pest which is processed into Local Microorganisms (MOL). This study aims to determine the effect of giving MOL golden snail and seedling age on the growth and production of rice. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 9 treatment combinations and 3 replications. The first factor is the MOL concentration of golden snail, consisting of: 0 ml/L concentration or control, 20 ml/L concentration, and 40 ml/L concentration. The second factor is the age of the seedlings, consisting of: 17 days after sowing), 11 days after sowing and 15 days after sowing. The results showed that the treatment with a concentration of 40 ml/l of Local Microorganisms Conch Mas (M) had a significant effect on the number of productive tillers, the number of pithy grain per panicle and production per hectare. While the age of 7 days after seedling had a significant effect on the number of pithy grain per panicle, weight of 100 grains, and production per hectare. The interaction between the MOL concentration of 20 ml/l golden snail and 7 days after sowing (M1U1) gave a significant effect on the weight of 100 grains.

Abstract

Acid mine drainage (AMD) with pH 2,56, also high concentration of Fe and Mn respectively 35 mg/L and 8,83 mg/L should be treated to prevent the pollution. AMD treatment can be done by adding bacteria. Bacillus cereus and Bacillus subtilis isolated from AMD sample using selective media agar. Each bacteria was added 5% and 10% to the 200 mL AMD sample separately. The result shows that the highest removal of Fe and Mn in AMD was 62.03% and 18.02% with 10% B. cereus. Meanwhile, with addition 5% B.subtilis shows the highest Fe and Mn removal respectively 41.91% and 16.79%. Therefore, these bacteria have potential to decrease Fe and Mn concentrations in AMD.

Abstract

Yard land is used by the community to grow crops to meet their daily needs. This research is to find out the species of garden plants used by the people of Kampung Kweel. Data collection to determine plant species in the yards of community houses was carried out using interviews and documentation methods. Identification and inventory are carried out based on local names, scientific names, family names, and plant parts used. Data were analyzed using qualitative analysis by describing the results of interviews and surveys of the plants found. Meanwhile, quantitative analysis was carried out by presenting the part of the plant used. The results showed that there were 21 species of plants in the yard of Kampung Kweel with different benefits. The part of the plant that was used with the highest percentage was obtained from the fruit of 37.50%, followed by leaves of 28.13%, stems and tubers of 12.50%, rhizomes of 6.25% and flowers of 3.13%

Abstract

This research is motivated by the needs of oil palm plants whose growth and development depend on the availability of nutrients. So that the fertilization must be done correctly in order to encourage healthy plant growth and maximum FFB production. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the implementation of fertilization was in accordance with the directions and recommendations from the company, and to determine the level of correlation between fertilization and the production of fresh fruit bunches of oil palm. The data collection method in this study was direct observation in the field and then comparing the data obtained in the field with data from the company, and also analyzing the correlation between fertilization and fresh fruit bunches (FFB) production. From the results of observations regarding the right dosage and the right method of fertilizer. The rules for the right dosage and the right method are good because they get an average value of the right dose with a percentage of 89.29%, and the rules for the right method with a percentage of 93.57%. Observations regarding the correlation between fertilization and FFB production obtained a value of 0.994, which means that there is a significant correlation with a very strong and positive correlation coefficient.

Abstract

The urban forest is a community of vegetation in the form of trees and their associations that grow on city land or its surroundings. Air pollution that occurs in the urban forest reduces air quality so that its quality decreases to become unusable as it should be. The purpose of this study is to measure and identify driving noise and compare with environmental quality standards. The procedure of this research different density of vegetation from 2016-2020 has passed the Quality Standard, based on the criteria of Keputusan includes the stages of activity, namely field orientation to determine the point of Mahakam City Forest road length is 143 m, noise sampling points as many as 3 points with a distance per point is 71.5 m. The results of this study indicate that the number of vehicles passing by, the density of vegetation in the Mahakam Bridge City Forest is a factor in reducing the intensity of noise, where each measurement point has a Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup Nomor 48/MENLH/11/1996 tentang Baku Tingkat Kebisingan.

Abstract

Red dragon fruit peels and rosella flower petals are combined with a concentrated sucrose to be processed into jam which has health benefits. These benefits are obtained from the antioxidant content of of both ingredients thatcan prevent degenerative diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding rosella flower extract and the appropriate concentration of sucrose on the chemical, organoleptic , and antioxidant activity of good red dragon fruit peel jam. Based on the test results, the jam with the best quality will also be determined. The experimental design used a factorial completely randomized design with three treatments of rosella flowers; 20, 30, and 40% and the sucrose concentrations were 50, 60 and 70%, and repeated three times. The results showed that the combination of rosella calyx and sucrose jam had an effect on pH, vitamin C, antioxidant activity, color, texture and aroma but had no significant effect on water content, total dissolved solids, reducing sugar and taste. Jam treatment with a concentration of 70% sucrose and 30% rosella flower extract produced the best quality based on chemical, physical and organoleptic parameters.

Abstract

Biofarmasi termasuk dalam produk obat yang diolah secara tradisional maupun modern yang berasal dari bahan alam seperti tumbuhan, hewan, dan mikroorganisme, salah satunya adalah kunyit yang merupakan tanaman rempah-rempah yang potensial dan digunakan sebagai bahan baku obat. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data primer dan sekunder dimana data primer diperoleh langsung dari informan dengan menggunakan wawancara terpimpin dan observasi. Pemilihan lokasi penelitian dilakukan secara purposive sampling dengan pertimbangan bahwa Desa Tarokan telah menghasilkan 10-tonbiofarmaka dalam satu kali masa panen. Data tingkat pengetahuan responden dianalisis dengan menggunakan skala Likertdengan menggunakan sistem skoring. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa skor lapang pada pengetahuan dan adopsi berada pada kategori sedang, hasil menjelaskan bahwa kebanyakan petani mengetahui inovasi solar dryer dari sistematika pembuatan solar dryeritu sendiri sampai proses pengeringannya, akan tetapi dalam proses adopsi inovasi tersebut minim dikarenakan dalam pembuatan alatnya sendiri yang tidak dapat dilakukan oleh kebanyakan petani.Untuk proses adopsi masuk ke dalam tahapan trial atau uji coba dan belum sepenuhnya masuk ke dalam tahap adopsi.
