Abstract

The management of INA-CBGs (Indonesian Case Based Groups) claims is a critical component of hospital governance and financial sustainability within the National Health Insurance era. Hospitals newly partnering with BPJS Kesehatan generally encounter challenges such as limited human resources, weak cross-unit coordination, and the absence of standardized claim management systems. This community service initiative aims to enhance claim governance capacity through a problem-solving-based participatory educational approach. The activity was conducted in 2025 at a hospital in Makassar, involving 27 participants: 4 members of the casemix team, 20 healthcare practitioners (Professional Care Providers), and 3 management representatives. The methods employed included initial assessments, interactive education, case-based discussions, and reflective evaluation. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and observations, followed by a thematic analysis. The results identified primary challenges including limited coding competencies, suboptimal integration of hospital information systems, and the lack of standard operating procedures (SOP) for claims. Post-activity evaluation indicated an improvement in participants' understanding. The casemix team leader demonstrated the ability to delineate claim stages according to BPJS Kesehatan regulations and outline corrective measures for pending claims. Coders were able to identify the essential documentation requirements prior to claim submission. Furthermore, healthcare practitioners and management clarified their respective roles in ensuring claim success. This initiative also produced a draft of the primary claim management SOP and a document completeness checklist as practical outputs. Nevertheless, the long-term impact of these activities requires further evaluation based on more specific quantitative success indicators.

Abstract

Malaria is a significant public health issue in Keerom Regency, Papua. This community service aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of junior high school students through the SIMANTIK (Siswa Pemantau Jentik) education and training program. The activity was conducted at three schools: SMPN 2 Arso 3, SMP YPPK Taruna Tegasa, and SMPN 7 Yetti, involving 143 students. The methods included pre-test, material presentation on malaria vectors and life cycles, practical larva monitoring, and post-test evaluations. The paired sample t-test showed a significant increase in students' knowledge before and after the training (p < 0.05), with an average score increase ranging from 10% to 40% across the three schools. However, regression analysis indicated varying impacts of knowledge and attitude on student behavior regarding malaria prevention. In conclusion, SIMANTIK training effectively increases knowledge, necessitating sustained monitoring clubs in schools to maintain malaria-free environments.

Abstract

Noncommunicable diseases such as diabetes mellitus and hypertension are chronic conditions with a high risk of complications. Although they receive treatment, many patients still have uncontrolled risk factors, necessitating a promotive and preventive approach. This community service activity aims to improve public knowledge and awareness through metabolic risk screening and education on a healthy longevity lifestyle. The activity methods included screening using a simple card based on clinical and lifestyle parameters, as well as education on healthy eating, physical activity, medication adherence, and routine check-ups. Evaluation was conducted using pre-tests and post-tests on 143 participants with Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension. Screening results showed that 83.9% of participants were in the high metabolic risk category and 16.1% in the moderate category. After the education session, the average percentage of correct answers increased from 42.5% to 91.8%. The results of the paired t-test showed a highly significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.001). This activity demonstrates that metabolic risk screening and education on a healthy longevity lifestyle are effective in improving public knowledge and awareness and support the prevention of chronic disease complications.

Abstract

This community service activity is designed to help students prepare for entering the workforce. The activity will teach students how to create a resume (CV) that can pass through an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), which is how companies currently screen candidates. Students from SMK AL-HASRA Depok were invited to participate in this activity, which was held at Universitas Pembangunan Jaya. The method used in this community service activity employed a practical learning approach, encompassing preparation, training, evaluation, and a final report. The results of the activity showed an improvement in participants’ skills following the training. Participants’ understanding of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) increased from 32% to 85%, their ability to create an ATS-friendly CV improved from 25% to 88%, and their understanding of keyword usage in CVs rose from 30% to 82%. These results indicate that the training successfully enhanced participants’ employability skills in navigating the digital recruitment process. This activity also provided insights by comparing students’ work before and after the training, as well as by assessing the quality of the CVs they created. Additionally, the students felt more confident in navigating the entire digital recruitment process. This training on how to create an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)-friendly CV truly helped the students prepare themselves for job hunting. The project’s outcomes aim to establish this initiative as a model for training programs that help people adapt to the ever-changing technological landscape.

Abstract

This International Joint Community Service (KLN) program aimed to improve inclusive communication competence among vocational students by addressing communication barriers between the hearing majority and Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing (HoH) communities. Conducted collaboratively by Universitas Mercu Buana and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia at SMK Negeri 47 Jakarta, the program involved 14 students through participatory and competency-based training activities. The intervention was grounded in Personal Social Responsibility (PSR) and Shared Labor frameworks. Training activities included Deaf culture awareness, Communication Repair strategies, Total Communication principles, BISINDO practice, simulations, and reflective discussions. Evaluation results showed a 53% increase in understanding of Deaf culture, a 63% increase in basic BISINDO knowledge, a 55% increase in Communication Repair skills, and a 45% increase in communication confidence. Participants also proposed simple accessibility adaptations relevant to vocational contexts. The findings indicate that PSR-based inclusive communication training can strengthen ethical awareness, communication competence, and social inclusion in vocational education.

Abstract

Mental disorders, particularly schizophrenia with auditory hallucination symptoms, remain a significant health problem. Most patients with schizophrenia experience hallucinations that can interfere with social functioning and daily activities. This problem is caused by patients’ inability to control hallucinatory stimuli and the lack of productive activities. Tie-dye Group Activity Therapy was conducted to reduce the frequency of auditory hallucinations and improve patients’ ability to control hallucinatory stimuli. This activity used a one-group pretest–posttest design involving five schizophrenia patients with auditory hallucinations. The evaluation results using the Auditory Hallucination Rating Scale (AHRS) showed that all respondents experienced a decrease in hallucination scores ranging from 7–11 points. Before the intervention, respondents were in the moderate to severe categories, which decreased to moderate and mild categories after the intervention. No increase in scores was found among respondents, indicating a consistent direction of improvement. Tie-dye Group Activity Therapy had a positive effect in reducing auditory hallucinations, improving social interaction, and encouraging patients’ productive activities.
