Abstract

Usaha perikanan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai (PPP) Larangan Kabupaten Tegal merupakan salah satu penunjang utama perekonomian masyarakat pesisir Tegal dan menjadi penyuplai bahan baku pengolahan ikan teri (Stolephorus sp.) nasi di daerah Pemalang dan Kendal. Hasil tangkapan utama kegiatan penangkapan ikan di PPP Larangan adalah komoditas ikan teri. Alat tangkap yang digunakan nelayan di PPP Larangan adalah payang dan purse seine. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perikanan payang dan purse seine di PPP Larangan, menghitung nilai produktivitas hasil tangkapan payang dan purse seine pada penangkapan pagi dan malam, serta membandingkan tingkat efektivitas hasil tangkapan purse seine pada penangkapan pagi dan malam. Alat tangkap payang dan purse seine yang dioperasikan di PPP Larangan bersifat one day fishing serta terdapat dua waktu penangkapan yaitu penangkapan pagi dan penangkapan malam. Nilai produktivitas payang dan purse seine pada penangkapan pagi lebih besar dibandingkan dengan penangkapan malam. Tingkat efektivitasnya penangkapan pagi lebih efektif berdasarkan nilai produktivitas dibandingkan dengan penangkapan malam baik untuk alat tangkap payang maupun purse seine.

Abstract

The implementation of a cheap and appropriate technology is needed for further handling process of fishermen products, in which the products can be stored for a longer time in the form of dried/smoked fish. The study objective was to implement a cabinet model fish dryer (Tunnel Fish Dryer) to improve the quality of dried fish by using andesite stone as a heat storage, which was placed on fire as a heating material. The heat was flowing into the fish heating room through the pipe using a fan. The five levels drying time frame period could produce the best quality smoked fish using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Each time frame had a different duration with three time repetitions, resulting in 15 experimental unit results. The drying times were as follows: A = 3 hours; B = 3.5 hours; C = 4 hours; D = 4.5 hours; and E = 5 hours. The results showed that the best drying time for dried fish was at 4.5 hours.

Abstract

Mudcrab (Scylla serrata Forskal) is one of several dominant species in the fish production from Karangsong coastal waters, Indramayu Regency. However, effort to manage the mudcrab in the waters is still limited. This study aimed to estimate a growth of the mudcrab as a base for crab management at the waters. Monthly sampling of the crab in the study area was conducted according to fisherman catch using bamboo trap for 4 months (Juni-September 2013). Carapace width and weight were employed for calculating frequency distribution, growth pattern, and growth. Growth estimation of the crab was calculated using Von Bertalanffy equation. This study revealed that the carapace width of the mudcrab ranged of 60-138 mm (male), and 74-139 mm (females). Crab’s growth patterns of the mud crab was negative allometric, W = 0.0003L2.8793 (male) dan W = 0.003L2.3210 (female). Through analysis of growth parameter estimation, it was obtained the following equatiosn: Lt = 157.35 [1-e(-0.39(t+0.26)] (male), and Lt = 147.99 [1-e(-0.42(t+0.24)] (female).

Abstract

Ikan belanak (Planiliza subviridis) merupakan salah satu dari beberapa jenis ikan yang mempunyai nilai ekonomis tinggi di Perairan pantai Karangsong. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 6 bulan (Desember 2012-Mei 2013), bertujuan untuk mengetahui biologi reproduksi ikan tersebut yang tertangkap di perairan pantai Karangsong. Ikan contoh diambil dari hasil tangkapan nelayan dengan menggunakan gill net ukuran mata jaring 0,5-1,5 inchi (n=336 ekor). Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa rasio ikan belanak jantan dan betina tidak seimbang yaitu 1:2,0. Ikan belanak betina lebih kecil mengalami matang gonad dibandingkan dengan ikan jantan, dengan ukuran pertama kali matang gonad sebesar 114 mm (ikan jantan) dan 102 mm (ikan betina). Puncak musim pemijahan ikan belanak di Perairan pantai Karangsong diduga terjadi pada bulan Februari. Jumlah telur ikan belanak cukup besar yaitu sebesar 9.691-173.335 butir telur. Diameter telur ikan tersebut berkisar antara 0,18-0,75 mm dengan modus penyebaran dua puncak yang mengindikasikan pemijahan secara parsial.

Abstract

Ikan tongkol merupakan spesies yang dominan tertangkap di Perairan Selat Sunda dan digemari oleh masyarakat. Daerah penangkapan ikan memiliki karakteristik yang sangat dipengaruhi kondisi oseanografi seperti suhu dan klorofil-a. Klorofil-a merupakan indikator kesuburan suatu perairan. Aspek ukuran panjang ikan menjadi fokus utama dalam menentukan daerah penangkapan ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hasil tangkapan berdasarkan klorofil-a, dan ukuran panjang ikan yang menghasilkan pemetaan daerah penangkapan ikan tongkol di Perairan Selat Sunda. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kasus. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juni sampai Juli tahun 2021. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu skoring terkait dengan klorofil-a, ukuran panjang ikan, dan Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE). Ukuran panjang ikan merupakan aspek yang memiliki bobot terbesar. Kategori daerah penangkapan ikan terdiri dari kategori daerah penangkapan ikan potensial, potensial sedang, dan tidak potensial. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, jumlah total hasil tangkapan ikan tongkol di Perairan Selat Sunda selama penelitian sebesar 2.134 kg. Kategori ukuran ikan layak tangkap terdapat di daerah penangkapan Pulau Peucang, Sumur, Pulau Mangir, dan Teluk Paraja. Kandungan klorofil-a di Perairan Selat Sunda secara keseluruhan termasuk kategori tinggi. Daerah penangkapan yang termasuk kategori potensial yaitu Pulau Peucang, Sumur, Pulau Mangir, dan Teluk Paraja sedangkan daerah penangkapan yang tidak potensial yaitu Tanjung Lesung, Sebesi, Ujung kulon, Pulau Panaitan, dan Tj Alang-Alang.

Abstract

Rabbitfish lives in waters of the mangrove to the reef at a depth of 6 meters. Rabbitfish usually is sold in a fresh condition. Generally, the low temperature has been used for fish handling technique to maintain its freshness. Thus, this study aimed to determine baronang fish quality deterioration from the Seribu Island using ice. The ratio of ice and fish was 1:1 (w/w). Determination of rabbitfish freshness was conducted by pH, TVB, and TPC measurements. Observation was every 24 hours for 3 days. The pH value decreased significantly at the 2nd day and the 3rd day. TVB value of rabbitfish on the first day was 10.57 mg N/100 g. This value indicated the fish was still fresh. However, the total number of microbes after 3 days of storage increased to 7.48 log CFU/g. Rabbitfish after 3 days storage was still suitable for consumption based on the pH and TVB values.

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the effect of the water application of probiotic Bacillus sp. DMP13 on the growth and stress response of giant freshwater prawn larvae Macrobrachium rosenbergii. The larvae used in this experiment were 1-day-old larvae post-hatching with an average body weight of 2.7±0.6 mg and an average length of 2.1±0.1 mm. The larvae were reared in 2 L plastic tanks with a density of 100 L-1 for 21 days. The study was conducted using 4 treatments with three replications of each, namely A (control without probiotic), B (Bacillus sp. DMP13 with cell concentration of 102 CFU (colony forming unit) mL-1), C (Bacillus sp. DMP13 with 104 CFU mL-1) and D (Bacillus sp. DMP13 with 106 CFU mL-1). Probiotic was applied in the rearing media on days 9th up to 18th with 3 days intervals. The results showed that application of Bacillus sp. DMP13 with a cell density of 102 CFU mL-1 was able significantly increased the absolute larvae weight (29.67±1.88 mg), increased larval survival in stress concentrations of 1,250 μL L-1 of formalin solution (the highest larval survival rate 98.3±2.9%). Treatment with 102 CFU mL-1 probiotic cell addition also increasing the total bacterial viable count in the media (the cell density reached 5.99±0.28 log CFU mL-1). However, other parameters such as the larvae stage index, survival rate, and absolute length of the larvae with probiotic treatments were not significantly different from those of control.

Abstract

Koi fish is part of ornamental fish that is liked by the public. Koi fish culture is influenced by good water quality as a life medium. The problem in koi fish farming is the decline of water quality caused by pollution and the results of koi fish metabolism. The experiment methods are koi fish rearing tanks preparation, making a series of recirculation aquaculture system (RAS), stocking koi fish seeds, and measuring water quality. The RAS technology range consists of a pipe, a pump, and a filter tank consisting of an arrangement of charcoal, bioball, zeolite, and sand. For one month the maintenance of koi fish using RAS technology gave good results on the growth and quality of the cultured water. Koi fish seeds before rearing measuring 5-6 cm experienced an increase in the body length to 8.5-10.5 cm. The results of measurements of temperature, pH, and DO of koi fish culture water before recirculation include 31.2°C; 7.6; and 4.8 mg/L, respectively. After the recirculation process, the results of temperature, pH, and DO measurements were found to be 29.7°C; 7.1; and 6.0 mg/L, respectively. This shows that RAS technology can to optimize the temperature, pH, and DO of koi fish cultured water. Optimal water quality will lead to good koi fish growth.

Abstract

Waduk Saguling merupakan salah satu waduk yang dibangun di Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Citarum yang cukup tercemar, sehingga berpotensi mengandung logam berat (seperti Pb). Pb akan terkonsentrasi dalam tubuh ikan patin (Pangasius djambal) yang umum dibudidayakan di waduk tersebut dan dalam jangka waktu yang lama akan terakumulasi. Hati merupakan organ yang paling banyak mengakumulasi logam berat, sehingga berpotensi terjad kerusakan berupa nekrosis, fibrosis, dan cirrhosis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan Pb yang terakumulasi dalam hati dan pengaruhnya terhadap kerusakan jaringan hati. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Desember tahun 2012 dengan mengambil tiga stasiun yang mewakili inlet, tengah, dan outlet. Analisis kandungan Pb (pada air dan ikan) menggunakan AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) dan didapatkan kandungan logam Pb (pada ikan) berkisar antara 7,5- 16,4 mg/kg. Kandungan Pb dalam ikan patin melebihi baku mutu berdasarkan SNI tahun 2009 (untuk ikan dan hasil olahannya). Kerusakan jaringan hati yang terjadi akibat akumulasi Pb di Waduk Saguling adalah pembengkakan dan nekrosis.

Abstract

One of the economically valuable fish in the Sikucing River is an eel. Sikucing River is an upstream river located in Purworejo Regency, Central Java. The eel in Sikucing River is usually captured using a handline with diverse baits. The research aims to determine the type of bait favored by the eel. The baits used in this research were worms, shrimp, golden snails, and coconut caterpillars. The research uses four types of bait because the availability of these baits is still a lot and affordable. The research was conducted for 36 days and in one day there were two bait installments (namely the afternoon and evening). Bait installments were carried out at eight locations along the Sikucing River. Based on the research there are five types of fish caught on handline, namely eels, carps, snakehead fishs, lempon fishs, and turtles. The dominant catch from this research was eel with 40 individuals (or 30,173 kg). The eels were caught on all four types of bait, but the highest catch was obtained from the type of coconut caterpillar bait. Shrimp and snail were a type of bait that has the lowest eel catch (as many as 3 individuals).
