Abstract

The Islamic Well-Being Scale (IWBS) is an instrument developed to assess well-being specifically in Muslims. However, the instrument was developed for the Muslim population in Turkey. Therefore, this study aims to translate the IWBS into Indonesian and validate it on a sample of Muslims in Indonesia. The translation of the IWBS was carried out by two professional Turkish translators and evaluated by a reconciliation team. The Indonesian version of the IWBS was then tested on 175 adult Muslims (54 males and 119 females, mean age = 25.8 years, age range = 18–73 years). Ordinal confirmatory factor analysis showed that the fit indices of the one-factor measurement model of the IWBS fit the data (SRMR = 0.055; CFI = 0.988; TLI = 0.985). Internal consistency reliability analysis using Cronbach’s alpha, ordinal alpha, Bollen’s omega, Bentler’s omega, and McDonald’s omega formulas showed satisfactory values, 0.919, 0.959, 0.920, 0.920, and 0.934, respectively. The Indonesian version of the IWBS has good psychometric properties and has the potential to be used as an instrument for measuring Islamic well-being. However, the Indonesian version of the IWBS is recommended to be further tested in a larger sample that represents the entire Indonesian Muslim population.

Abstract

This paper studies the drivers that have a significant impact on organizational resilience in terms of ransomware attacks in the hospitality industry of Indonesia, with a particular focus on hotels operating in Bali. The interviews with IT managers in two of the most important hotels were conducted using in-depth interviews. They showed that the ransomware attacks caused severe operational disturbances and a loss of consumer confidence. Despite these, several proactive measures have been put in place by the hotels, and this has emanated through the strong leadership from the senior management to upgrade cybersecurity infrastructure and to instigate staff awareness programs. The findings pinpoint budget limitations and inadequate training, which align with the existing literature, as some of the important obstacles. The work underlines the desperate need for adaptive strategies in cybersecurity and develops an understanding that a collective organizational commitment is required toward sensitive data protection and good reputation building. Indeed, the research points out that creating security awareness among all employees would genuinely enhance the culture of cybersecurity and resilience. Collaboration between industry players and governmental bodies may provide the required wherewithal and frameworks for building up strength with which the ransomware threat could be tackled effectively. Given the practical recommendations, it might be useful to consider how to make the hospitality industry resilient in the case of ransomware attacks

Abstract

The phenomenon of implementing rewards in the memorization of the Quran provides new insights into how positive reinforcement can enhance motivation and sustain the process of memorization (tahfidz), in alignment with Skinner's theory. This literature study aims to detail how rewards can serve as motivational tools within the progression of Quran memorization. The research employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The research steps include determining keywords, searching for articles using Publish or Perish, and filtering relevant articles according to predetermined criteria. A review of six selected articles serves as the object of this study, utilizing thematic data analysis to examine the application of rewards in Quran memorization based on Skinner's theoretical framework. The findings of this literature review indicate that: 1) Skinner's concept of rewards is effective in reinforcing positive behavior through positive reinforcement. The implementation of rewards can also encourage the development of intrinsic motivation, reducing reliance on extrinsic motivation. 2) The provision of verbal and non-verbal rewards effectively enhances motivation and memorization of the Quran. Rewards such as praise or tangible gifts can invigorate the learning spirit, provided they are administered wisely in order to maintain sincere intentions in memorization. 3) Existing research demonstrates that the application of rewards based on Skinner's theory effectively strengthens the habit of memorizing the Quran, thereby facilitating the formation of routines and reinforcing an individual's commitment to achieving memorization targets. Future research is recommended to utilize quantitative or qualitative methods to further examine the application of rewards in enhancing Quran memorization motivation.

Abstract

Biological, cognitive, and socioemotional changes occur in adolescents. Teenagers pay more attention to physical appearance and body shape based solely on personal judgment or society's views, without looking at other aspects, such as religion. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the significance of religion in teenagers' body image from the perspective of the psychology of religion. The method used was qualitative with a phenomenological study design. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The research participants totaled four people, three of whom had a positive body image and one other had a negative one. The results showed that religion was related to body image. Participants with a positive body image consider that they have been created by God perfectly, and they are grateful for everything about themselves and their appearance. Participants with a negative body image recognized that God had indeed created all humans good, but participants always felt dissatisfied with themselves, so participants continued to think about and improve things that they felt were not good. Most importantly, all participants acknowledged that religion guided them in finding meaning and purpose in life. Religion provides a strong basis for building a positive and healthy body image by thinking, responding to every event, and reflecting on or self-evaluating. This study implies that each individual is aware of the importance of self-acceptance, seeing, and thinking that the self is valuable and special.

Abstract

This quantitative correlational study examined the relationship between various dimensions of socioeconomic status (SES) and academic anxiety among 330 Filipino college students in Metro Manila, Phillipines. Data were collected through online surveys utilizing two adapted instruments: a 10-item Socioeconomic Status Questionnaire and an 11-item Academic Anxiety Scale. Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses were conducted to assess the associations and predictive strength of SES indicators—such as parental education and occupation, family income, family size, gender, and age—on academic anxiety. Results revealed that higher paternal education and office-type paternal occupations were significantly associated with increased academic anxiety, while lower paternal education and manual labor occupations were associated with reduced anxiety. Family income exceeding ?20,001 was positively correlated with anxiety, possibly due to increased academic expectations. Regression analysis showed that paternal education, paternal occupation, family size, and student age collectively explained 19.9% of the variance in academic anxiety. These findings highlight the nuanced effects of SES, particularly paternal factors, on students' psychological stress. The study underscores the importance of culturally responsive support strategies such as parental education workshops, financial literacy training, and targeted anxiety interventions for students. Future research should consider longitudinal and qualitative methods to explore the underlying cultural mechanisms and long-term outcomes.

Abstract

The current study aimed to develop and validate the Parasocial Relationships with Religious Figures (PSR-R) scale, a multidimensional instrument designed to assess individuals' parasocial relationships with their idolized religious figures. A total of 301 participants aged 18–29 were recruited using convenience sampling, representing six religious groups in Indonesia. The scale development process involved item generation, expert evaluation, and confirmatory factor analysis to establish the structural validity of the scale. The final 25-item PSR-R scale demonstrated robust model fit (CFI = .908, RMSEA = .062, and SRMR = .607), capturing four dimensions: interest in, knowledge of, identification with, and interaction with. Internal consistency was high (? = .922), with dimension-level reliabilities ranging from .711 to .855 and significant intercorrelations among its four dimensions, supporting its validity as a multidimensional construct. Convergent validity was supported by a significant positive correlation with a measure of celebrity worship (r = .544, p < .001), suggesting that shared psychological processes underlie parasocial relationships across different domains. These findings support the PSR-R scale as a reliable and valid instrument for assessing parasocial relationships in religious contexts. By introducing a validated measurement tool, this study provides a foundation for further exploration of parasocial relationships with religious figures and their psychological implications. The scale offers theoretical and applied value for examining the psychological impact of mediated religious engagement. Future research should assess the cross-cultural generalizability of this approach, its role in identity development, and its potential applications in religious education, counseling, and mental health settings.

Abstract

This study investigated the effects of play-based learning on teacher satisfaction, stress levels, and collaborative learning among primary education learners. Employing a descriptive survey design, the study sampled 200 early childhood education practitioners in Ilorin South Local Government Area, Kwara State, Nigeria, selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a validated instrument—the "Questionnaire on Play-Based Learning, Teacher Satisfaction, Stress, and Student Collaboration in the Classroom" (QPBLTSSSC), with a reliability coefficient of .81. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze responses related to play-based learning's impact on teachers' job satisfaction, stress reduction, collaborative learning, and child development. The findings revealed that play-based learning significantly enhanced teacher satisfaction and reduced stress by promoting enjoyment, fulfilment, and a relaxed teaching atmosphere. It also fostered collaborative learning by improving teamwork, peer interaction, and inclusive learning environments. Moreover, play-based pedagogy significantly contributed to children's cognitive, language, problem-solving, motor, and socio-emotional development. These outcomes underscore the critical value of integrating play-based methods into early childhood curricula. The study recommends professional development programs that emphasize both guided and free play strategies, as well as public awareness of home-based play practices and stress-reduction training for educators, to support holistic child development and teacher well-being.

Abstract

The banking sector has recently experienced significant employee turnover, with reported annual rates ranging from 15% to 20%. This study employs a systematic literature review (SLR), guided by the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) framework, to identify key factors influencing employee turnover intention within this context. Comprehensive searches were conducted across the Google Scholar, Scopus, and Publish or Perish databases for peer-reviewed articles published between 2021 and 2025. Following rigorous screening, 41 articles met the predefined inclusion criteria. Analysis revealed that the predominant factors associated with turnover intention are work-life balance, job stress, job satisfaction, and career development opportunities. Furthermore, the review identified significant research gaps concerning the relationships between turnover intention and work-life balance, job stress, career development opportunities, compensation, leadership style, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), perceived organizational support (POS), and work engagement. These gaps highlight critical avenues for future empirical investigation into the specific relationships between these variables.

Abstract

This article explores the self-identity dynamics of Generation Z habaib lovers in Indonesia. Data were collected through 60 to 120 minutes of in-depth interviews with ten members of Habib-led assemblies identified as part of Generation Z (aged 12-27 years) selected through a purposive sampling technique. A qualitative approach was chosen, with Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) with the help of NVivo 12 software to organize the data. Three subordinate themes emerged: the motivation to become a habaib lover, the process of searching for self-identity, and cohesiveness towards the habaib assembly. These themes are related to the formation of self-identity in Generation Z. This study concludes that the self-identity of the youth members of the community is shaped and catalyzed by the meaning of holiness of the habaib as a prophet's descendant figure. The findings contribute to developing the concept of Muslim youth self-identity through empirical studies on adolescent self-identity formation.
