Abstract

Technological disruption has reshaped Indonesia’s media ecosystem through the dominance of digital platforms, the decline of legacy media, and growing regulatory uncertainty. Although prior studies address ecosystem leadership and dynamic capabilities separately, empirical models that operationalize ecosystem leadership in the media industry using fuzzy logic, particularly in emerging digital markets, remain limited. This study addresses this gap by developing an ecosystem leadership model using a qualitative approach integrated with fuzzy logic. Eight leadership indicators are examined: collaborative, orchestrative, inclusive, adaptive, visionary, transformational, legitimacy and trust, and sensemaking. Expert interviews were analyzed using fuzzy inference rules to transform subjective assessments into quantifiable leadership evaluations. The results show that legitimacy and trust, collaboration, and adaptability represent the strongest leadership foundations, while orchestration, inclusivity, and sensemaking remain underdeveloped. Analysis of dynamic capabilities indicates strong sensing and seizing capacities but moderate transforming capability, placing ecosystem leadership in the developing category. The fuzzy logic approach effectively captures leadership complexity under uncertainty. Practically, the findings provide guidance for media executives and policymakers to strengthen structural flexibility, inclusive governance, and orchestration mechanisms to enhance sustainability and resilience in digitally disrupted media ecosystems.

Abstract

The #KaburAjaDulu hashtag on TikTok reflects a form of digital social criticism expressed by Indonesian youth toward socio-economic and political conditions in Indonesia. This discourse represents disappointment with economic inequality, public services, and declining trust in state institutions, while positioning migration as a rational response to uncertainty. This study aims to analyze how the #KaburAjaDulu discourse is constructed through Awbimax’s TikTok content using Fairclough’s CDA approach. This research employs a qualitative method by examining five purposively selected TikTok videos uploaded between October 2023 and February 2025. Data were collected through non-participant observation of video narration, captions, hashtags, visual elements, and audience comments. The analysis was conducted through three dimensions of CDA: textual analysis, discursive practice, and sociocultural practice. The findings show that the discourse is constructed through confrontational yet relatable language, casual visual representation, and repetitive narratives that normalize escapism as a rational individual choice. Socioculturally, the discourse reflects a shift from collective nationalism toward pragmatic individualism and reveals a growing crisis of trust between citizens and the state in the digital era.

Abstract

This study analyzes media construction in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) poisoning case in Cipongkor District, West Bandung Regency, through framing, hegemony, and social learning in the coverage of Kompas.com and BBC News Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach, the study applies Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis, supported by Antonio Gramsci’s theory of hegemony and social learning theory. The data consist of seven news articles published in September 2025. The findings show clear differences in framing. Kompas.com presents the incident as a technical problem by emphasizing government responses and operational solutions. In contrast, BBC News Indonesia highlights the humanitarian impact and systemic weaknesses, offering a more critical perspective. The two media outlets also shape different forms of social learning: Kompas.com tends to strengthen public trust, whereas BBC News Indonesia increases concerns about the safety of the program.

Abstract

This study revisits the privacy paradox in data-driven marketing by examining whether privacy concerns constrain the effectiveness of behavioural analytics and whether transparency plays a more influential role in shaping consumer purchase decisions. Drawing on the Theory of Planned Behaviour, Privacy Calculus Theory, and research on algorithm aversion, behavioural analytics is conceptualized as a digital choice architecture that influences consumer decision-making. Survey data from 228 digitally active consumers were analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that behavioural analytics positively influences purchase decisions, while privacy concerns do not significantly moderate this relationship, supporting the persistence of the privacy paradox. In contrast, transparency significantly strengthens the effect of behavioural analytics by enhancing consumer trust and perceived procedural fairness. These findings suggest that transparency, rather than privacy concern, is the key mechanism supporting effective personalization. From a managerial perspective, organizations should complement behavioural analytics with transparent data governance, explainable algorithmic practices, and clear communication regarding data use to strengthen consumer trust. This study advances digital marketing research by reframing the privacy paradox as a question of legitimacy and trust in responsible data-driven marketing.
