Abstract

This research is a form of semantic research but by modifying the phonological elements in it. It is well known that minor and fundamental changes in the syntactic structure will affect its meaning. This study uses qualitative methods and experimental methods. Qualitative methods intend to understand phenomena about what is experienced by research subjects such as perceptions, motivations, actions, and others holistically, by means of descriptions in the form of language words. In this case, a qualitative method is applied in analyzing the research data, namely the song Celeng Guling by Widi-Widiana. Then the experimental method is a method to find out the consequences of the treatment given to a thing being studied. The application in this case is by modifying the phoneme of a word in the lyrics of the song so that it produces different words and changes the structure of meaning in it. Abstract

This research is intended as a pilot study to find out the implications of the dysarthria of the phoneme /r/ trill on the quality of other consonant phonemes produced at the same place of articulation. This study was designed using a descriptive quantitative-qualitative approach with field methods. In collecting data, the observation method was used to collect data in the form of consonant and vowel phonemes produced by 4 dysarthria samples and 4 non- dysarthria samples. The collected data were then analyzed using extralingual and intralingual comparison methods. The results of the study show that if the place of articulation where a sound is produced has a problem, then the problem will affect all the sounds produced in that place. The hard production of the alveolar trill /r/ phoneme in dysarthria sufferers has implications for the production of other alveolar sounds, namely /t/ and /d/ which become weaker and more nasal. Keywords: dysarthria; acoustic features; /r/ trill phoneme

Abstract

The Banyumas people, who are popularly called wong Banyumasan, are widely known as unique and different figures compared to other Javanese people. The special difference lies in the accent they use, namely the ngapak language. It is called ngapak because the pronunciation of the vowels "a" and "o" and the consonants b, d, k, g, h, y, k, l and w are fixed and not floating or half-assed, as is usually found in standard Javanese. Wong Banyumasan, which consists of Banjarnegara, Purbalingga, Banyumas, Cilacap and Kebumen regencies, makes the ngapak dialect their cultural identity. This research uses a literature study method with a qualitative descriptive research type. The data in this study used secondary data by searching databases from various references, such as research journals, journal reviews, and data related to Banyumasan culture, especially the Ngapak language. Data analysis for this study used descriptive qualitative and analytical descriptive methods. The results of the research show that the Ngapak dialect is the development of thoughts or perceptions in relation to the patterns that exist in the Ngapak dialect itself. The view of the Banyumasan cultural community on the Ngapak dialect is that it is a Banyumasan cultural identity that is unique, cool and rich, and has the potential to be developed. The use of the ngapak dialect in the daily life of the Banyumasan people still shows their consistency not to give up and to preserve their cultural identity. Abstract

The title of this research is “Phrasal Verbs Found in Novel “They Both Die at The End” By Adam Silvera”. The data source of this research is the novel They Both Die at The End by Adam Silvera (2017). The problems investigated in this research are; what kind of phrasal verbs and what constituent structures are used for phrasal verbs in Adam Silvera’s They Both Die at The End? The theories applied are by Halliday and Matthiessen about phrasal verbs, and by Van Valin about tree diagrams. This research used the qualitative method. This research consisted of three steps. The first step was reading the novel. Furthermore, the data collection was conducted by note-taking. After that, the data were classified into their kind and their constituent structure. The result of the research showed that three kinds of phrasal verbs were found in Adam Silvera’s They Both Die at The End. The kinds are verb + adverb, verb + preposition, and verb + adverb + preposition. The constituent structure of each sentence with phrasal verbs showed that phrasal verbs can be transitive and intransitive. Transitive phrasal verbs mean that it requires a direct object. Transitive phrasal verbs can be separable which means the verb and particle are separated by a noun, and inseparable which means the verb and particle cannot be separated by a noun. Keywords: constituent; kind; phrasal verbs
