Abstract

February 24, 2022 Russia begins its invasion of Ukraine. The situation and condition of countries in the world that have just started to recover from being hit by COVID-19, are actually made to worry again due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The implications that are felt are quite painful, especially in the economic field. The world economic situation will weaken in line with rising commodity prices, especially in the economic and food sectors due to the conflict. Indonesia is a country that is active in trade transactions both export and import activities will certainly feel the impact of this conflict. In this study, the author places the formulation of the problem, namely how the influence of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on Indonesia's economic development in terms of dependency theory. Then, this research uses the type of research that is carried out by normative research and uses the type of theoretical research (theoretical research). In the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Indonesia was quite firm in stating its position as a "free and active" country, which is an advantage for Indonesia to be able to continue to carry out investment activities and export transactions with other countries, including countries involved in the conflict. so that the Indonesian economy continues to grow even in unsafe conditions and situations. But on the other hand, it must be remembered that Indonesia is a developing country that still carries the status of a country that depends on developed countries. So, when the economies of developed countries weaken such as the United States, China, and Russia for example, then Indonesia will feel the same way, the Indonesian economy will also be affected by this. This is the description of the dependency theory explanation put forward by Theotonio Dos Santos.

Abstract

The application of wasiat wajibah (compulsory will) is a significant issue within inheritance law in Indonesia, particularly regarding non-Muslim heirs who inherit from Muslim relatives. In Islamic law, wasiat wajibah refers to the entitlement given to heirs who are excluded from inheritance based on the faraid rules, with the intention of promoting fairness. This research aims to evaluate the application of wasiat wajibah for non-Muslim heirs, through a comparative analysis between Islamic law and the current jurisprudence in Indonesia. The methodology applied is a normative approach, focusing on the analysis of relevant legislation and judicial precedents. The discussion covers the concept of wasiat wajibah in Islamic law, its implications for non-Muslim heirs, and an evaluation of how it is implemented within the Indonesian legal framework. The results are expected to enhance the understanding of the implementation of wasiat wajibah in Indonesia’s multi-religious society.

Abstract

Informed consent is a crucial element in the healthcare system as it ensures that patients provide consent based on a sufficient understanding of the medical procedures to be performed. In the context of emergency services, where patients often present with critical conditions requiring immediate action, the implementation of informed consent becomes more complex. BPJS Kesehatan, as the provider of healthcare services for the public, holds the responsibility to ensure that medical treatments within their network respect patient rights, both legally and ethically. This article aims to explore in-depth the legal and ethical aspects of implementing informed consent in emergency healthcare services under the BPJS Kesehatan program.

Abstract

The application of diversion from a justice perspective focuses on achieving case resolution that focuses more on recovery and rehabilitation, especially in cases involving children. In this context, diversion acts as an alternative to prevent children from formal criminal justice processes which tend to have negative impacts, such as stigmatization or trauma. Diversion is not just a transfer of case resolution, but is also part of a restorative justice approach. Thus, the application of diversion from a justice perspective is not only seen as a diversion from the legal process, but also as an effort to restore and provide opportunities for children to correct their mistakes, as well as reduce the negative impacts of involvement in the formal criminal justice system.

Abstract

This study discusses the relationship between the plurality of beings and the oneness of the Creator from philosophical and theological perspectives. The plurality of beings reflects the diversity of God's creation, which includes humans, animals, plants, and inanimate objects, as manifestations of the greatness and complexity of the Creator. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach and content analysis to understand the interaction between the diversity of creation and the oneness of God. Data were collected through literature studies, interviews with religious figures, and observations in religious communities. The analysis was conducted hermeneutically to interpret religious and philosophical texts, as well as through thematic analysis to identify patterns of thought. The results show that the plurality of beings not only affirms the oneness of God but also encourages tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and social harmony in pluralistic societies. By understanding this relationship, society can create strong social cohesion and reduce the potential for identity-based conflicts.

Abstract

Caffeine is a heterocyclic alkaloid compound in the methylxanthine group that has a bitter taste that works as a mild diuretic and psychoactive stimulant. These compounds are naturally found in more than 60 types of plants, including coffee plants. Coffee is known as a drink that has a high enough caffeine content. Caffeine content in robusta coffee raw beans is higher than Arabica coffee which is only about 1.2%. The content of caffeine in the body is broken down in the liver by the enzyme cytochrome P-450 into metabolic 3-dimethylxanthin which is then excreted in the urine. Analysis of caffeine in urine was carried out quantitatively by means of UV-Vis Spectrophotometry. The analysis process is carried out by extraction and centrifugation. Based on this study, a study was conducted to determine the differences in extraction and centrifugation methods on caffeine levels in the urine of robusta coffee drinkers using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. The results were analyzed using the Paired T-Test through SPSS. The results showed that there was significant difference in the levels of caffeine extracted and centrifuged in the urine of robusta coffee drinkers using the UV-Vis Spectrophotometry method. The caffeine content in the urine sample was obtained with the lowest extraction at 29.60 ppm and the highest caffeine content at 50.18 ppm. Meanwhile, in urine samples by centrifugation, the lowest caffeine content was 35.71 ppm and the highest caffeine content was 50.45 ppm.

Abstract

The use of the death penalty in drug-related crimes remains a contentious issue globally, raising concerns about fundamental human rights and policies designed to curb drug trafficking. While some countries retain the death penalty as a tool to address drug offenses, citing its deterrent effect and its role in protecting public health, the human rights viewpoint strongly challenges such practices, focusing on the sanctity of the right to life. International legal frameworks set limits on the death penalty's application and urge states to refrain from actions deemed inhumane and ineffective. This article explores the implementation of the death penalty for drug crimes, considering both human rights perspectives and its relationship with international criminal law.
