Abstract

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a systemic manifestation of atherosclerosis that significantly contributes to increased morbidity and mortality, and reduced quality of life. Globally, the burden of PAD shows an increasing trend, with the highest prevalence among the elderly, those with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and those with smoking habits. Global Burden of Disease data demonstrates regional variations in distribution, with Asia displaying distinct sociodemographic determinants and diagnostic challenges. In countries like Indonesia, limited epidemiological data and high underdiagnosis rates remain major barriers to early detection. In addition to the main risk factors, a number of new determinants, including nutritional and lifestyle patterns, exposure to air pollution, chronic inflammation, and genetic predisposition, further exacerbate the disease course. Severe complications, particularly limb-threatening ischemia, are closely associated with coronary artery and cerebrovascular disease, ultimately worsening clinical outcomes in patients with polyvascular disease. This study is a literature review examining international and national publications indexed in Scopus, PubMed, and Sinta within the last five years, as well as the latest clinical guidelines (ESC 2024, ACC/AHA 2024, ESVS 2024). Literature selection was based on relevance to epidemiology, risk factors, clinical implications, and comparability of PAD management guidelines. Global strategies for PAD management generally demonstrate uniformity, although approaches differ in specific populations. Research gaps include limited data in Southeast Asia and a lack of genetic studies in non-European populations. Adapting international guidelines to the local context is essential to more effectively reduce the burden of PAD in the Asian region.

Abstract

This study discusses customer segmentation strategies based on purchasing behavior and brand preferences for information technology products at PT. XYZ. The main objective of this research is to identify customer purchasing patterns and classify them into several segments with different characteristics. The historical transaction data used includes attributes such as the brand of purchased products, purchase frequency within one year, and total transaction value. After the data cleaning and normalization process, a centroid-based clustering technique was applied to identify homogeneous groups in the database. The clustering results show three main clusters, each representing different consumer behaviors in terms of brand loyalty, price sensitivity, and spending level. The analysis indicates that customers with high transaction values tend to select specific brands and make purchases more frequently. These findings provide strategic insights for the company in designing more personalized marketing approaches, improving the effectiveness of product offerings, and strengthening relationships with customers in each segment.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, environmental and social factors on economic growth with competitiveness as a moderating variable. Using panel data from 29 developing countries during the period 2016–2019, this study developed four panel data regression models and tested the hypotheses with statistical tests. Empirical results show that the influence of the entrepreneurial ecosystem on economic growth is more significant in developed countries than in developing countries. Conversely, the influence of the entrepreneurial ecosystem on competitiveness is higher in developing countries. However, when competitiveness acts as a moderating variable, its contribution to economic growth is greater in developed countries, especially in its role as a moderator. These findings indicate the importance of policies that support entrepreneurship in developing countries, as well as the need for cross-sector collaboration to create an ecosystem that can encourage the emergence of innovative entrepreneurs for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer affecting women and often requires surgical management. Surgical procedures frequently cause anxiety in patients, which can impact the healing process and the effectiveness of treatment. High levels of preoperative anxiety may negatively affect patients’ physiological and psychological conditions. This study aims to describe the level of anxiety in breast cancer patients before undergoing surgery at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang. This research is a descriptive categorical study using purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 59 breast cancer patients scheduled for surgery at the Oncology Clinic & Inpatient Ward 1 Day Before Surgery at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang, who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instrument used was the APAIS (Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale) questionnaire. The majority of patients scheduled for surgery at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang were over 45 years old (76.3%), had completed senior high school (49.2%), were unemployed (71.2%), and most had never undergone surgery before (59.3%). Anxiety levels showed that 40.7% of patients experienced mild anxiety, 37.3% moderate anxiety, and 22% severe anxiety. No patients experienced very severe (panic-level) anxiety. Most breast cancer patients in the preoperative phase at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang experienced mild to moderate anxiety. These findings highlight the importance of providing education and psychological support to patients prior to surgery.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using YouTube-based narrative videos in improving the listening skills of the narrative text of class X students of SMAN 6 Aceh Barat Daya. The research method employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, including a pre-test and post-test control group design. The research sample consisted of two purposively selected classes, namely class X.1 as the experimental group (n = 36) taught using YouTube narrative video media, and class X.3 as the control group (n = 34) taught using conventional audio-based methods. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test covering four aspects of listening skills: main idea, detailed information, inference, and vocabulary in context. Data analysis used an independent sample t-test through SPSS version 26 with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant difference between the post-test scores of the two groups (p = 0.000), where the experimental group experienced an average increase of 23.5 points, higher than the control group, which increased by 8.7 points. In addition, improvements occurred in all listening sub-skills, with the highest percentage in understanding the main idea (28%). The findings indicate that the use of YouTube narrative videos is more effective than conventional methods in improving students' listening skills, while increasing their motivation and engagement in learning.
