Abstract

Advances in information technology have driven shifts in consumer behavior when making purchasing decisions, particularly through the phenomenon of Electronic Word of Mouth (EWOM) on social media and e-commerce platforms. This study aims to investigate the influence of the three main dimensions of Electronic Word of Mouth (EWOM) intensity, Valence of Opinion, and content on purchasing decisions for Barenbliss lip cosmetics in Bandar Lampung. The research method employed is a quantitative approach using descriptive and confirmatory techniques. Data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to consumers who have used Barenbliss lip cosmetics and been exposed to digital reviews of the product. Analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25.0. The results of the study indicate that all independent variables in this study intensity, Valence of Opinion, and content have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, both partially and simultaneously. This is evidenced by the significance values of each hypothesis test, all of which are below 0.05, thus accepting the proposed hypotheses. Intensity indicates that the more frequently someone is exposed to reviews, the greater the likelihood of making a purchase. Positive opinion valence enhances consumer confidence, and informative and high-quality content strengthens purchasing decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the accuracy and performance of the ITB-1 Synthetic Unit Hydrograph (HSS) and Gamma-1 Synthetic Unit Hydrograph (HSS) methods in predicting flood discharge in the Deli River Watershed (DAS), Medan, North Sumatra. Historical rainfall data from four observation stations (2007–2021) were used to calculate the design flood discharge with return periods of 2 to 100 years. Hydrological analysis was performed using the Log-Pearson Type III distribution, while hydraulic simulations used HEC-RAS 6.1. The results show that the Gamma-1 method produces a more conservative peak discharge (349,226 m³/s for a 25-year period) than ITB-1 (369,279 m³/s), with a peak time of 4.06 hours (Gamma-1) vs. 11.07 hours (ITB-1). Statistical tests show that Gamma-1 has a NSE >0.65 and a lower RMSE than ITB-1. HEC-RAS modeling confirms that the Deli River's existing capacity is only able to accommodate 10% of flood discharge, necessitating the construction of a 1–4 meter high parapet. This study recommends the use of Gamma-1 for watersheds with hydrological characteristics similar to the Deli River due to its good agreement with empirical data.

Abstract

Rapid industrial growth is often accompanied by increased energy consumption, material use, and greater environmental impact. Pollution issues and global demands for sustainable business encourage companies to implement more environmentally friendly and socially responsible business practices. This is done not only as a form of corporate social responsibility but also as a way to build a corporate image and thereby increase company value. This study aims to determine the effect of green accounting, CSR, and profitability on the value of basic material companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2019-2023 period. This study uses associative analysis with a quantitative approach. The study population is all 22 basic material companies listed on the IDX. The sample size is 9 basic material companies listed on the IDX for the 2019-2023 period. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include documentation and literature review. This study used classical assumptions, multiple linear regression, correlation and determination coefficients, and t-tests or partial tests using SPSS version 23. Statistical test results indicate that CSR influences company value, while green accounting and profitability have no effect on the value of basic material companies listed on the IDX for the 2019-2023 period.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the capabilities of MODFLOW and FEFLOW software in modeling groundwater flow in open-pit mining environments with complex geometries. The method includes literature review, technical feature analysis of both software, and evaluation of simulation performance based on hydrogeological parameters and geospatial conditions. The results show that MODFLOW offers advantages in accessibility due to its open-source nature and is efficient for mining areas with relatively simple geometries. However, its limitation in grid flexibility reduces its ability to accurately represent complex morphologies and geological structures. In contrast, FEFLOW provides higher flexibility through an unstructured mesh system and integrates saturated–unsaturated flow in a single model, making it more suitable for advanced hydrogeological modeling. FEFLOW's capability to represent irregular mining geometries, simulate chemical reactions, and provide 3D visualizations is highly relevant for mining conditions in Indonesia, although it is limited by higher computational demand and licensing costs. This study offers valuable insights into selecting groundwater modeling software based on geological complexity and mining analysis objectives.

Abstract

Repetitive and intense overhead activities, such as those found in swimming, volleyball, and goalkeeping in football, cause repetitive biomechanical stress on the shoulder joints. This exposure has the potential to cause anatomical remodelling, in the form of significant structural and functional adaptations in the shoulder complex, including the scapula, humerus, and supporting soft tissues. This study analyses narrative literature on research from the past five years regarding anatomical changes caused by overhead activities in swimmers, volleyball players, and footballers. The Scopus, PubMed, and DOAJ databases were used to search for literature focusing on shoulder structural changes and biomechanics. Articles must be in English or Indonesian and open-access. A literature synthesis revealed that the shoulders of overhead athletes undergo anatomical changes, including increased lateral rotation, decreased medial rotation, and increased scapular asymmetry. Anatomical applications also vary across specific sports. Volleyball athletes have larger rotator cuff muscles and a higher risk of subacromial impingement. In contrast, swimmers have a higher risk of humeral epiphysiolysis due to the frequent shoulder movements they experience from a young age. In football goalkeepers, remodelling is more focused on shoulder muscle imbalance and reduced glenohumeral stability due to direct contact and ball-reaching activities. Overhead activities in sports cause unique structural adaptations in the shoulder, depending on the type of sport and specific movement patterns. A deep understanding of this remodelling is crucial for designing targeted injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes for overhead athletes.

Abstract

Headset usage has become increasingly common today, facilitating work and communication. However, prolonged use of headsets, especially at high sound frequencies, can damage the hair cells in the cochlea, leading to permanent hearing loss. This condition is known as Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL). This research employed a literature review of journals published between 2013 and 2025. The journals were searched using keywords such as "headphone hearing loss," "noise-induced hearing loss personal listening devices," "safe listening guidelines," and "hearing impairment headset." The search results were presented narratively. The study found that NIHL is prevalent across all continents and is closely associated with headset usage. Specifically, using headsets at high volumes and for extended periods can lead to NIHL. This issue is particularly significant among Generation Z, with various studies indicating instances of hearing loss. The study concluded that there is a direct relationship between hearing loss and headset use at sound levels exceeding 85 dB for more than 8 hours a day.
