Abstract

This study seeks to examine the progression of students' knowledge (P) and skills (K) scores in an Indonesian Vocational High School (SMK), focused on Multimedia, through an artificial intelligence (AI)–driven longitudinal analysis methodology. The research data comprises academic scores from 32 students gathered over five semesters and examined via data preprocessing, descriptive statistical analysis, and machine learning modelling employing the Random Forest algorithm. The results show that both knowledge and skills scores have been going up steadily over the semesters. The predictive model based on Random Forest works very well, with a high level of accuracy and a low level of prediction error. Additionally, Pearson correlation analysis and simple linear regression demonstrate that knowledge significantly and positively influences students' skills (p < 0.05), suggesting that proficiency in cognitive dimensions directly facilitates the enhancement of practical skills in vocational education. These results validate that the amalgamation of longitudinal analysis and artificial intelligence can enhance data-driven learning assessment and promote more precise academic decision-making in vocational education

Abstract

The growing digitalization of educational administration has established Management Information Systems (MIS) as vital instruments for enhancing school administration and facilitating decisions based on data. Despite its strategic importance, empirical data regarding the use of Management Information Systems in elementary education—especially in limited financial settings—remains uncommon. This study examines the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Management Information Systems (MIS) in SD Negeri 20 Kuta Makmur, a public primary school located in North Aceh Regency, employing a qualitative case study methodology, data were gathered via semi-structured interviews with school leaders, educators, and administrative personnel, supplemented by observations and document analysis. The results reveal that although the school exhibits a robust dedication to digital transformation, the efficacy of MIS implementation is hindered by insufficient infrastructure, restricted budgetary resources, and disparate digital competences among staff. Nonetheless, the technology has enhanced administrative coordination, data accessibility, and internal communication. The research indicates that effective MIS implementation relies on both technology preparedness and organizational elements, such as leadership dedication, well-defined operating protocols, and a conducive institutional culture. Without these enabling conditions, the transformational potential of digital technologies is only partially actualized. This research enhances the literature on educational digitalization by offering empirical observations from a primary school setting and presents practical implications for bolstering institutional capacity and governance in basic education via sustainable information system adoption

Abstract

Teacher motivation is a significant barrier for improving educational quality, especially in rural and resource-limited institutions. This study examines the impact of principals' managerial competence—executed through the functions of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAC)—on improving teacher work motivation in elementary schools. Data were gathered using a qualitative methodology through in-depth interviews, observations, and recording at five public elementary schools in Gugus III Ceding Ayu, Aceh Tamiang, Indonesia. The results indicate that adaptive managerial methods, defined by participatory planning, supportive supervision, transparent communication, and context-sensitive leadership, substantially enhance teachers' enthusiasm, commitment, consistency, and teamwork. Nonetheless, challenges persist about the uniformity of follow-up oversight and the fair allocation of responsibilities. This study theoretically extends the contextual application of the POAC framework in rural educational environments and practically provides a robust model of adaptive school management to enhance teacher involvement in underprivileged areas.

Abstract

This study investigates the use of religious moderation in two traditional Islamic boarding schools (dayah), specifically Dayah Darul Muta’allimin Kruet Lintang and Dayah Asasul Islamiah Leuge in East Aceh, Indonesia. It especially examines institutional policies, educational practices, student character outcomes, and the problems encountered in advancing wasathiyah (moderate Islam). Utilizing a descriptive-analytical qualitative framework, data were gathered through comprehensive observations, semi-structured interviews with leaders and educators, and examination of institutional records. The results indicate that religious moderation is consistently internalized via three interconnected methods. The curricular approach incorporates the principles of tasamuh (tolerance), tawazun (balance), and i‘tidal (justice and moderation) in the examination of traditional Islamic writings (kitab kuning). The cultural approach prioritizes moral exemplification by teachers and dayah leaders, so encouraging moderation through quotidian practices and institutional standards. The social approach implements moderation through joint community initiatives, practical da‘wah (dakwah bil hal), and inter-dayah interactions. These strategies mutually foster the development of pupils' religious, tolerant, disciplined, and nationalistic character. However, obstacles remain, such as inconsistent student understanding, insufficient contextualized educational materials, and exposure to extremist ideologies on social media. This study highlights the strategic importance of dayah as essential institutions for fostering moderate, humanistic Islamic education and promoting Islam as rahmatan lil ‘alamin.

Abstract

This study addresses the increasing necessity for madrasahs to modify teaching methodologies in accordance with the requirements of 21st-century education, while maintaining fundamental Islamic spiritual values. The objective is to analyze the implementation, pedagogical advantages, and obstacles of incorporating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)–based learning media in Akidah Akhlak education at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Aceh Timur. Utilizing a qualitative field research design, data were collected through systematic observations, comprehensive interviews, and document analysis including the school principal, Akidah Akhlak educators, and tenth-grade students. The data analysis comprised steps of reduction, data presentation, and conclusion formulation, utilizing triangulation to guarantee validity and trustworthiness. The results demonstrate that the utilization of digital platforms like Google Classroom, YouTube, Canva, and Quizizz, in conjunction with AI-driven applications such as ChatGPT and Islamic educational platforms, markedly improved students' motivation for learning and their comprehension of Islamic beliefs and ethical principles. These technologies empowered educators to convert abstract theological notions into more visible, contextual, and interactive learning experiences. Nonetheless, the survey revealed other problems, such as inadequate technological infrastructure, unreliable internet connectivity, and disparate levels of digital proficiency among educators and learners. These limits were mitigated by institutional initiatives including ongoing training, mentorship programs, and incremental enhancement of infrastructure. The amalgamation of ICT and AI enhances students' digital literacy while simultaneously fortifying spiritual literacy, so establishing technology as a potent instrument for reinforcing the principles of ta‘l?m, ta’d?b, and tarbiyah in modern Islamic education.

Abstract

Teacher performance is a crucial factor influencing educational quality, especially throughout digital transformation and pedagogical progress. This study, based on human capital theory, innovation diffusion theory, and motivational psychology, examines the impact of digital competence, learning innovation, and work motivation on the performance of junior high school teachers in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative explanatory design was utilized, employing 210 teachers chosen by proportional random selection. Data were gathered utilizing validated questionnaires and examined by path analysis. The findings indicate that digital competence, learning innovation, and job motivation each exert a substantial beneficial influence on instructors' performance (p < 0.05). Of these variables, work motivation exhibits the most significant direct impact, succeeded by digital competence and learning innovation. The concurrent analysis reveals that the three predictors collectively account for a significant percentage of the variance in teachers' performance, hence validating the strength of the proposed conceptual framework. These findings underscore the significance of a cohesive teacher development strategy that enhances technology proficiency, fosters educational creativity, and maintains motivational support. The study enhances the literature on educational effectiveness by presenting an empirically based model of teacher performance that encapsulates the integrated roles of competence, creativity, and motivation in the context of educational digitalization.

Abstract

This study examines the methods employed by school principals to promote constructive discipline via the restitution triangle in public elementary schools within the Tangse District of Pidie Regency. Data were acquired through observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis involving principals, teachers, students, and parents, utilizing a qualitative field study approach. The results demonstrate that the execution of the restitution triangle is still in a nascent and disjointed phase. Principals have commenced restorative procedures via reflective discussion and coaching; however, these initiatives lack consistency and have not yet been properly assimilated by teachers. Conventional punitive disciplinary methods prevail, indicating a restricted comprehension of restorative ideas. Notwithstanding these limitations, initial beneficial outcomes were observed, such as increased timeliness, heightened professional accountability, and improved communication among educators. Significant obstacles are inadequate professional development, ineffective supervisory systems, and a school culture that lacks comprehensive alignment with restorative principles. The study illustrates that the restitution triangle serves as an effective and humane framework for enhancing positive discipline in elementary schools, contingent upon ongoing leadership commitment, systematic capacity development, and a collaborative school culture

Abstract

Parental involvement is crucial to improve the quality of learning at the primary school level, yet it is often restricted and unequal. This study investigates the tactics used by school administrators to increase family participation in the learning process, assesses the efficiency of various leadership strategies in establishing school-parent synergy, and analyses the challenges associated with increasing parental involvement. Data were obtained from elementary schools in Cluster 4, Pidie Regency, using a qualitative field study design that included observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The data show that administrators have used a variety of tactics, including routine communication, family involvement in school events, and the availability of collaboration spaces. These methods are positive, but they have not yet resulted in optimal and equitable parental participation. The effectiveness of leadership methods in developing synergy between schools and parents is still in its early stages, with modest impact on long-term parental support and student learning outcomes. Low parental awareness, work-related time restrictions, a lack of knowledge of parental obligations, and poor two-way communication are all significant barriers. The study finds that increasing parental involvement necessitates more tailored, consistent, and educational leadership tactics. The findings add to the conversation about educational leadership by emphasizing the significance of contextualized principal tactics in developing school-parent partnerships at the primary level

Abstract

Pedagogical optimization frameworks are becoming more popular as developed countries struggle to improve STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education quality. This systematic review combines STEM teaching method selection and optimization approachment research. We investigate theoretical foundations, methodological approaches, empirical data, and implementation issues from 2010–2024 peer-reviewed articles. Cognitive learning theories (including Bloom's taxonomy and constructivism), effectiveness research on teaching methods, operations research optimization techniques, and resource-limited educational constraints are all examined in our analysis. The findings show numerous results. First, active learning methods outperform traditional instruction (effect sizes from d=0.40 to d=0.75), but their efficacy varies throughout Bloom's taxonomy levels. Optimization frameworks are useful for timetabling and resource allocation, however pedagogical technique selection is underdeveloped. Third, resource limits in developing countries require context-adapted solutions, not just scaled-down versions of well-resourced ways. Fourth, engineering optimization methods in educational science are promising but have gotten little attention. A review finds several serious shortcomings. Optimization methodologies are rarely empirically validated in teaching situations. Research on simultaneous optimization across several learning objectives with realistic constraints is uncommon. These deficiencies include evidence-based optimization frameworks, rigorous testing across varied settings, and substantial scalability and cost-effectiveness research, especially in resource-limited contexts.
