Abstract

Students in teacher education programs often experience difficulties in understanding statistical concepts due to their abstract nature and limited connection to real-world contexts. Nevertheless, statistics serves as a fundamental foundation for developing quantitative thinking skills in science education. This study aimed to develop the KIMATIKA Student Worksheet (Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa/LKM), which integrates mathematics and chemistry concepts in the Educational Statistics course to enhance students’ quantitative understanding. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method by adapting the ADDIE model and was conducted up to the development stage. The results of expert judgment validation indicated that the KIMATIKA worksheet demonstrated a very high level of feasibility. The material experts’ evaluation yielded an average score of 4.74 with an ideality percentage of 94.71% (Very Good), while the media experts’ evaluation resulted in an average score of 4.81 with an ideality percentage of 96.25% (Very Good). In addition, students’ evaluations produced an overall average score of 4.58 with an ideality percentage of 91.51%. These findings indicate that the KIMATIKA worksheet is substantively sound, well-structured in its presentation, linguistically appropriate, and visually effective, and it received very positive responses from students in its implementation.

Abstract

Understanding students' perspectives on the teaching profession and their interest in participating in the PPG program for prospective teachers is very important for improving teacher competence. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study on students' perspectives on the teaching profession and their interest in participating in the PPG program for prospective teachers. The objectives of this study are to determine: (1) students' perspectives on the teaching profession; (2) students' interest in participating in the PPG program; and (3) the influence of students' perspectives on the teaching profession on their interest in participating in the PPG program. The population in this study were students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Palangka Raya, class of 2022. The data collection technique used in this study was a survey method. The results of the study showed that students' perspectives on the teaching profession were in the moderate or sufficient category. This indicates that students' perspectives on the teaching profession are quite good and can foster their interest in participating in the PPG program for prospective teachers. Meanwhile, students' interest in participating in the PPG program for prospective teachers falls into the moderate or sufficient category. This indicates that students' interest in participating in the PPG program for prospective teachers is quite high. The results of the regression analysis show that there is an influence of students' perspectives on the teaching profession on their interest in participating in the PPG program for prospective teachers.-

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students, the lack of interest in learning mathematics, and the lack of independence in learning mathematics. The objectives of this research are to determine: 1) the positive relationship between learning interest and mathematics learning outcomes, 2) the positive relationship between learning independence and mathematics learning outcomes, 3) the positive relationship between interest and independence and mathematics learning outcomes. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research type. The population in this study were 363 students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 8 Palangka Raya and the research sample consisted of 208 students. Before use, the instrument was tested with 58 students. The trial results obtained for the learning interest questionnaire were 30 valid with a reliability coefficient of r11=0,88. For the learning independence questionnaire, 28 were valid with a reliability coefficient of r11=0,85 . For the learning outcome test, 22 were valid with a reliability coefficient of r11=0,72. The analysis requirement test, namely the data normality test with Kolmogorov-Smirnov, obtained three data with normal distribution. From the results of the hypothesis test, it shows that: (1) there is a significant positive relationship between learning interest and students' mathematics learning outcomes, the correlation coefficient is rX1Y =0,1493, the significance test is thitung=2,167; (2) there is a significant positive relationship between learning independence and students' mathematics learning outcomes, the correlation coefficient is rX2Y =0,1441, the significance test is thitung=2,061; (3) there is a significant positive relationship between learning interest and independence with students' mathematics learning outcomes, the correlation coefficient is RY(X1X2)=0,1759, the significance test is Fhitung=3,271.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the fact that most students still make many errors in solving problems on the topic of Relations and Functions. The purpose of this study is to determine: (1) the types of errors made by students in solving problems on Relations and Functions in class VIII-6 of SMP Negeri 2 Palangka Raya and (2) the factors causing these errors. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. The data source consists of 29 students, with 3 students selected for interviews. Data were collected through written tests and interviews. The test consisted of 5 essay questions that had been validated by 3 raters. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that students' errors include: (a) factual errors, such as mistakes in writing symbols, function formulas, Cartesian diagrams, and set elements; (b) conceptual errors, such as misunderstanding relations and functions, inability to distinguish between relations and functions as well as domain and codomain; (c) operational errors, namely errors in calculations; and (d) principle errors, namely mistakes in applying formulas and writing final answers. The causes of errors are viewed from (a) remembering, (b) understanding, and (c) applying, which indicate a lack of mastery of prerequisite material and conceptual understanding. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of morphological studies on the understanding of science concepts in the material of eukaryotic cells of elementary school teacher education students at Harkat Negeri University. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of one group pretest-posttest. The research sample consisted of 44 students selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments were in the form of a concept understanding test, observation, and documentation. The results showed an increase in the average score of students from 54.37 in the pretest to 90.58 in the posttest with an increase of 36.21%. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 so that morphological studies were declared effective in improving students' conceptual understanding. Learning based on morphological studies helps students understand the structure and function of cell organelles in a more concrete, visual, systematic, and meaningful way.

Abstract

Formative assessment practices in classrooms still focus on final outcomes and have not optimally encouraged students’ learning reflection. This study aimed to develop a valid, practical, and effective SLOA-based formative assessment on statistics of measures of central tendency for single data. The study employed the 4-D development model without the disseminate stage. The trial subjects consisted of 26 students of class XI-12 at SMAN 7 Banjarmasin. The developed product comprised four formative assessment packages in the form of essay questions equipped with self-assessment sheets, scoring rubrics, and answer keys. The results showed that the assessment was categorized as very valid with average scores of 3.57 and 3.75, very practical with 88%, and effective with an average completeness percentage of 88%.

Abstract

Abstract This study purpose to determine: (1) the basis of the policy and the suitability of the program objectives; (2) teacher characteristics; (3) facilitator characteristics; (4) characteristics of the mentoring program; (5) characteristics of infrastructure; (6) mentoring process; (7) PPK based on school culture at SDN Pengalaman Palangkaraya after implementing the PPK program. The results of this study will be able to measure the progress of the implementation of the PPK program at the school, the excavation of data and information about the implementation of the results of the PPK program at SDN Pengalaman Palangkaraya in the implementation of direct assistance funds, and the detection of various problems that can hinder the smooth implementation of the PPK program so that fast and accurate solutions can be achieved. The evaluation research design refers to the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. This design is a framework for the process of carrying out evaluations and plans to collect and utilize data so that sufficient precision can be obtained or hypotheses can be tested appropriately and evaluation objectives can be achieved. Based on the calculation results of the main PPK values, it is known that the PPK values ​​show very significant results starting from the religious character value of 78.9%, the nationalist character value reflecting love for the Republic of Indonesia of 80%, the independent character value of 80%, the mutual cooperation character value of 84%. The integrity character value of 84%. These results indicate that the implementation of PPK values ​​at SDN Pengalaman Palangkaraya was successful.
