Abstract

ABSTRACT Waste management is a complex environmental issue that requires special attention, especially at the community level. The main obstacles to creating a clean and healthy environment are the low public awareness and the lack of facilities and government support. The purpose of this study is to find out how effective waste management socialization is in increasing public awareness in RT 03/RW 002, Kelurahan Bahagia. A descriptive quantitative method was used, consisting of three main stages: initial observation, information-sharing through a forum with the local women’s religious group (majelis taklim), and providing trash bins as a form of real support. The results show that the community has changed the way they dispose of household waste. The success of the program was influenced by a communicative and participatory approach, as well as the availability of proper facilities. This socialization proves that proper education and supporting facilities can encourage a shift in public mindset towards better and more sustainable waste management. ABSTRAK Pengelolaan sampah adalah masalah lingkungan yang kompleks yang memerlukan perhatian khusus, terutama di tingkat komunitas. Hambatan utama untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat adalah rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat, serta kurangnya fasilitas dan bantuan pemerintah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif sosialisasi pengelolaan sampah dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat di RT 03/RW 002 Kelurahan Bahagia. Metode kuantitatif deskriptif digunakan, yang terdiri dari tiga tahap utama: observasi awal, pertukaran informasi melalui forum ibuibu majelis taklim, dan penyediaan tempat sampah sebagai bentuk dukungan nyata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat telah mengubah cara mereka menyingkirkan sampah rumah tangga. Pendekatan sosialisasi yang komunikatif dan partisipatif serta ketersediaan sarana yang memadai memengaruhi keberhasilan program ini. Sosialisasi ini menegaskan bahwa edukasi yang tepat dan fasilitas pendukung yang tersedia mampu mendorong perubahan pola pikir masyarakat menuju pengelolaan sampah yang lebih baik dan berkelanjutan. Kata Kunci: Sosialisasi, Pengelolaan Sampah, Lingkungan, Kesadaran Masyarakat.

Abstract

The issue of low environmental awareness among elementary school students often manifests in their indifference toward school gardens and waste management, which reflects limited ecological literacy and weak practical skills in sustainable living. This community service program focused on implementing a Mini Gardening Class designed to foster creativity, responsibility, and environmental care among sixth grade students at an Islamic elementary school. The objective was to integrate gardening activities as both an educational tool and a life skills training program that nurtures environmental awareness and simple entrepreneurship in agriculture. The method applied was service learning, combining direct practice, participatory learning, and reflection to strengthen character and knowledge. Students were guided through activities such as preparing organic media from banana stems, husks, and compost, creating liquid fertilizer from rice water, planting short-harvest vegetables, and maintaining their growth through daily care. The strategy emphasized experiential learning, collaborative teamwork, and integration with science and character education subjects. The results showed a significant increase in students’ knowledge and skills in gardening, higher enthusiasm for outdoor learning, and improved responsibility in maintaining the school garden. Furthermore, the program produced practical outputs including a gardening manual, sustainable planting media, and organic fertilizer that could be replicated by the wider community. This activity successfully transformed idle school land into a productive and educational space, while also instilling values of sustainability, cooperation, and independence. It is expected that the Mini Gardening Class can serve as a sustainable model of environmental education and food self-sufficiency in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance students’ achievement in solving mixed arithmetic operations through the implementation of Seblak Mathematics media for third-grade students at SDN Bakalan Sumobito. The research was motivated by the low level of student interest and engagement in mathematics learning, which has largely been dominated by conventional methods and abstract explanations. Seblak Mathematics was developed as a contextual learning medium by integrating seblak, a local culinary element, to create lessons that are both engaging and closely tied to students’ everyday experiences. The research employed several stages, including needs analysis, media design, classroom implementation, and evaluation through teacher reflection. Findings revealed that the use of Seblak Mathematics significantly improved students’ learning motivation, strengthened classroom interactions, and deepened their understanding of mixed arithmetic concepts. Teachers responded positively, highlighting the practicality, ease of application, and adaptability of the media across various classroom conditions. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that culturally relevant and creative learning media can substantially improve elementary students’ mathematics performance. Furthermore, such media fosters active participation, enjoyable learning, and more meaningful classroom experiences.

Abstract

Education is the foundation that connects knowledge about nutrition and parenting with concrete actions in everyday life. With quality education, we can create a healthy, intelligent generation that is better able to face future challenges. Based on the results of observations in the Nglele village community, especially with one of the integrated health post (Posyandu) cadres in Nglele Village, there is a problem of stunting in Nglele Village, due to several factors, one of which is the lack of insight into the importance of maintaining a balanced diet for the baby. The purpose of this socialization of the importance of balanced nutrition and parenting is to improve the quality of nutrition towards a superior generation in Nglele Village. The methods used in this service are socialization and mentoring methods. Based on the results and discussions of the implementation of community service activities with the socialization of "The Importance of Balanced Nutrition and Parenting as an Effort to Prevent Stunting" in Nglele Village, Sumobito, Jombang, it was concluded that the socialization activity successfully increased community knowledge about the importance of balanced nutrition and the dangers of stunting. Most participants showed high enthusiasm and a good understanding of the material presented. There are indications of behavioral changes in eating patterns and family parenting patterns.

Abstract

Pembelajaran di sekolah dasar, pemanfaatan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis digital terbukti mampu meningkatkan minat belajar siswa serta membantu guru dalam menyampaikan materi dengan lebih variative. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat literasi digital siswa sekolah dasar melalui workshop pemanfaatan media pembelajaran interaktif. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SDN Budugsidorejo, Jombang, dengan melibatkan 35 siswa kelas IV sampai VI. Materi workshop meliputi pengertian dan manfaat literasi digital, etika bermedia digital, penggunaan gadget secara bijak, serta cara menjaga keamanan digital. Sebagai luaran utama, program ini memperkenalkan aplikasi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris “SiDino” yang dikembangkan oleh tim KKN. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa tentang literasi digital serta motivasi untuk menggunakan teknologi secara produktif dalam pembelajaran. Program ini memberikan kontribusi pada pengembangan keterampilan literasi digital siswa sekolah dasar serta menghadirkan media pembelajaran berkelanjutan di sekolah.

Abstract

Penguatan literasi perguruan tinggi menuntut peran komunitas baca mahasiswa yang didukung kepemimpinan kolaboratif dan adaptif. Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pelatihan kepemimpinan pada Komunitas Baca (KOMBACA) UPA Perpustakaan Universitas Lampung sebagai upaya penguatan kapasitas organisasi literasi kampus. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui empat sesi pelatihan daring tematik yang dilanjutkan dengan coaching dan mentoring, melibatkan mahasiswa lintas program studi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman kepemimpinan kolaboratif, kemampuan reflektif dalam perumusan visi dan misi komunitas, serta penguatan kesadaran literasi digital sebagai faktor keberlanjutan komunitas baca. Program ini menegaskan bahwa pelatihan kepemimpinan berbasis komunitas berkontribusi strategis terhadap penguatan ekosistem literasi perguruan tinggi dan relevan dengan tantangan literasi global.
