Abstract

In order to increase the utilization of fisheries potential, it is necessary to diversify fish processing. East Kutai is a district that has the potential to produce fisheries, especially from fishing. The catch of sea fish and freshwater fish in East Kutai Regency in 2020 was 5,294 tons. Diversifying fish processing is one means of increasing community food security. The STIPER East Kutai Marine Science Study Program plays a role in helping the government to increase food security through exhibition activities at the "food and nutrition month" event with the theme of sustainable food security organized by the East Kutai Food Security Service. This activity is carried out as a form of community service in carrying out one of the Tri Dharmas of Higher Education. Processing of tuna and shrimp nuggets as a diversified fish processing product is presented to the public. At this event, people were also distributed selebarans about how to process fish into processed products. Community Service activities carried out for four days ran smoothly. The tuna and shrimp nuggets products presented were also subjected to organoleptic testing by exhibition visitors. Exhibition activities are very effective in disseminating knowledge on campus to be disseminated to the community.

Abstract

The use of hydroponic method in utilizing yard land for growing vegetables has been used for a long time in Indonesia. Utilizing this method is very helpful during the dry season, very beneficial for the farming community. This method does not require a lot of water and does not take long to produce. The solution for planting vegetables using the hydroponic method in Telang Sari Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province is the right method for farmers, this is because the water conditions in this area are classified as acidic so the only plants that can be cultivated are rice and corn. The results of the survey in the field showed that the farming community met their vegetable needs by bringing in or buying from the main market in Palembang city, which is quite far from Telang Sari village, so the vegetables they bought were more expensive and less varied. This extension activity aims to introduce the hydroponic method as a solution for providing vegetables on acidic land for the people of Telang Sari village. This community empowerment activity uses counseling methods (lectures and discussions), demonstrations and evaluations. The results of this activity show that the farming community in Telang Sari Village gave a good response, was enthusiastic in carrying out the demonstration and was able to understand each series of stages of activities that will be carried out in cultivating vegetables using hydroponic method.

Abstract

Tekno 44 Agrotourism is a tourist attraction centered in Gelebak Dalam Village, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. Korem 044 Gapo is in charge of managing this agrotourism with an integrated farming system. Floating rice technology is one way to overcome the problem of flooding that occurs in lowland swamplands. Utilization of Lebak swamp land in South Sumatra for agriculture is still low; rice is only planted once a year during the dry season. The service was carried out from January to February 2023. The methods used included training and assistance regarding the application of floating rice technology on lowland swamp land, as well as facilitating the provision of facilities and infrastructure for the application of floating rice technology. The aim of this service is to increase the knowledge and skills of the Gelembak Dalam Village community regarding the application of floating rice technology on Lebak swamp land. Along with members of Korem 044 Gapo, the residents of Gelebak Dalam Village attended the training and mentoring. The people of Gelebak Dalam Village and members of Korem 044 Gapo are very enthusiastic about participating in training and mentoring to gain new knowledge and skills regarding the application of floating rice technology.

Abstract

Gunung Wangi has excellent potential to be developed as an attractive tourist destination. With its mesmerizing sunset and nighttime beauty and its status as an affordable tourist option, Gunung Wangi can be a valuable alternative to rural tourism options in Bantul. However, the challenges faced, such as the lack of vegetation leading to an arid feel and the lack of comfort, require serious attention. As a solution, a reforestation initiative has been implemented, resulting from a collaboration between a community service team from Janabadra University, Gunung Wangi managers, and the Yogyakarta Watershed Management Center. The reforestation initiative was designed as a sustainable approach, hoping to provide long-term benefits to the environment and the local community. The implementation process of this PKM was organized in several stages. These stages include problem identification, socialization of the reforestation program with residents and administrators of Gunung Wangi, submission of tree seedlings to the Yogyakarta Watershed Management Agency (BPDAS), and tree planting activities at Gunung Wangi. The results of this activity not only positively impacted Gunung Wangi's environment but also raised the awareness of the community and students on the importance of environmental conservation. In addition, it encourages their active role in maintaining ecological balance. Hopefully, these efforts will ensure that Gunung Wangi is known for its beauty and as a symbol of successful environmental conservation.

Abstract

Management Tools training for ZISWAF Management is used to assist performance, especially for ZISWAF Institution practitioners, namely amil and nadzir in managing their activities. This program focuses more on improving the skills of amil and nadzir in managing ZISWAF by using management tools tailored to the needs of the institution. Community Based Research is a PKM method by dividing training stages; Facilitation, communicating with adult learning, communicating with various experiences (experiential learning) and developing educational programs (educational program development). This training was effective as an effort to increase the capacity of Amil and Nadzir, seen from the conditions before and after the training practice which showed a quite significant percentage increase, namely seen from the indicators of implementing the training program from non-existent to existing, module socialization (50%), training (60%), awareness as well as community response (30%.). These results show that this activity has met the specified specifications (quality), within the specified cost (C), time (T) limits, and resource utilization can be carried out effectively and efficiently. The implication is that ZISWAF institutions need to be synergistic and sustainable.

Abstract

Improving the pedagogical competence of Catholic Religious Education teachers in Karo District's elementary schools is typically carried out through Teacher Working Groups (KKG) or workshops. Workshops for teachers usually focus on developing instructional materials. The implementation of Community Service (PkM) aims to enhance the pedagogical competence of teachers in planning and conducting lessons, organizing educational teaching methods, and utilizing information technology in teaching. The PkM activities consist of a two-day training session followed by two months of mentoring. The results show a significant improvement in the indicators of teachers' pedagogical competence, while partner satisfaction evaluations reflect the positive impact of these activities. It is expected that the Director General of Catholic Religious Affairs will ensure that each teacher competency improvement program includes concrete steps and a continuous monitoring and evaluation system to ensure the effective sustainability of pedagogical competence enhancement.
