Abstract

Objective: Knowing the impact of parent’s communication and adolescent social anxiety. Method: The Research type is quantitative, using survey techniques with a teenage population. The sample size was 2135 junior high school students spread across 24 Cities and Districts in West Java. Data was collected for 1 month (October 1-31, 2024). Respondents filled out a Google form containing instruments about parental communication patterns (attitudes towards children's opinions, accepting criticism, involving children in decision-making, enforcing rules, etc) and social anxiety (fear of negative evaluation. social avoidance). Data analysis using Chi-Square and Pearson. Results: Most respondents were 14 years old and lived with their parents; their mother's education was junior high school, while their father's was high school. The position of the children was the first and last child. More than 10% of parents have authoritarian communication with adolescents, although most have democratic communication. There is a significant relationship between the age of respondents and the level of anxiety indicated by the results of the Pearson test with a P value of 0.032. In contrast, parental communication and adolescent social anxiety have a statistically significant relationship, indicated by a p-value of 0.01 using the chi-square test. Novelty: Social anxiety is rarely symptomatic, so parents should be able to recognize the condition early and improve communication patterns immediately

Abstract

Objective: This research is here to offer character education media that can be used to face the digital era. Method: Results: This research uses an approach method. The method used in this research is research and development (R&D) in the Borg & Gall model. The subjects involved in the research were 1968 students at the Indonesian University of Education. The research subjects involved were Indonesian University of Education students conducting community service program activities. By using simple random sampling, This research involved 1,968 students. Novelty: This research presents the novelty of empirical data that concludes a deviation between the attitude and behavior indexes. In terms of engagement, the citizen behavior index is better than the attitude index. Second, the obstacles to developing citizen involvement in the digitalization of character education are due to citizens' low level of awareness regarding the importance of their contribution to character education, not because of a lack of skills. Third, thus, the construction of optimizing digital platforms in character education must be made possible by raising citizen awareness.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines the implementation of Islamic education principles from the book Ta'lim al-Muta'allim by Burhanuddin al-Zarnuji in the learning process at madrasas. These principles emphasize the importance of adab (etiquette), sincere intentions, and ethics in education, which remain relevant to modern educational contexts. Method: Using a qualitative approach with a case study methodology and literature review, this research combines in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis to explore how these principles are applied in Madrasah Al Ishlah. Results: The findings reveal that key principles such as right intention, respect for teachers, diligence, and knowledge practice have been successfully integrated into the learning environment at Madrasah Al Ishlah. These principles have significantly contributed to developing students' character, including discipline, responsibility, and noble morals. However, challenges persist in balancing moral education with the academic demands of the curriculum. Novelty: This study highlights the relevance of Ta'lim al-Muta'allim in contemporary Islamic education, demonstrating that its principles not only enhance the quality of religious education but also offer a robust model for character education in madrasas, bridging the gap between academic achievements and moral development.

Abstract

Objective: In Indonesia, breastfeeding rates are relatively low, even though the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding are widely acknowledged. In 2022, just 67.96% of Indonesians were exclusively nursing, according to a WHO assessment. One of the numerous causes of this low number is the husband's lack of support. For exclusive breastfeeding to be successful, the husband's support is essential. When a spouse accepts and supports his wife's decision to exclusively breastfeed, it might be beneficial for nursing mothers. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the attitudes and knowledge of husbands on exclusive breastfeeding. Method: This study sought to ascertain how husbands' attitudes and knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding related to each other. This cross-sectional survey design, a quantitative correlational study, employed 106 samples. The data was analyzed using the chi-square test, and the results indicated a significant (p <0.05) relationship between the husband's skill and exclusive breastfeeding. One hundred six samples were used in this cross-sectional survey design, which was a quantitative correlational investigation. Results: The chi-square test was performed to analyze the data, and the findings showed a significant correlation (p <0.05) between exclusive breastfeeding and the husband's expertise. Up to 95.7% of respondents knew much about exclusive breastfeeding, compared to 47.5% who did not. The analysis indicated a substantial (p <0.05) correlation between exclusive breastfeeding and the husband's attitude. Novelty: This research is unique in that it focuses on spouses or couples.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to explore the role of the madrasah library in promoting literacy culture within the Fiqh subject. The primary objective was to identify the challenges faced by students in engaging with literacy and develop strategies to enhance their reading, writing, and discussion skills through library resources. Method: A qualitative descriptive approach was used, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection methods. The data was analyzed thematically to identify key patterns related to literacy culture in Fiqh learning. Results: The findings indicate that students' low motivation to use the library significantly negatively impacted their literacy engagement. Several interventions were implemented to address this, including enhancing the library's physical environment, incorporating multimedia resources, offering incentives for active participation, and integrating literacy activities into Fiqh lessons. These interventions improved students' reading, writing, and discussion habits, encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and a deeper understanding of local wisdom. Novelty: This study introduces an innovative approach by embedding literacy culture within Islamic education through library-based initiatives targeted explicitly at Fiqh materials. Unlike previous research that viewed libraries as static information repositories, this study highlights their dynamic role in fostering literacy engagement. The findings contribute to the broader discourse on literacy development in religious education and emphasize the madrasah library as a key institution for sustaining a culture of enriched reading.

Abstract

Objective: The study focuses on teaching students about the power of dualism that contributes to the oppression of women and the exploitation of nature. Method: Descriptive qualitative research is used in this study. Results: The results of this study teach students that the oppression experienced by female characters is caused by the power of dualism, such as civilized/primitive, male/female, and subject/object dualism, which places women in a lower position. Meanwhile, the power of human/nature and reason/nature dualism is the cause of the exploitation of nature. Novelty: The analysis of dualism has been done in some previous studies, but there are several powers of dualism in this study that previous studies have not found. The power of civilized/primitive, subject/object, and reason/nature dualism are new dualisms in this study. In addition, this study teaches students about the power of dualism in gender inequality and environmental exploitation in the novel, which also occurs in real life.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigates pre-service teachers' (PST) feedback skills during Field Experience Practice (FEP), identifies influencing factors, and examines their impact on student learning. Method: A mixed-methods approach was used, combining quantitative data from 42 PSTs and 57 teachers via questionnaires and qualitative insights from interviews, observations, and documentation. Descriptive statistics were employed to categorize feedback proficiency, while qualitative analysis explored contextual influences. Results: Findings reveal three levels of feedback skills—high, medium, and low—determined by internal factors (pedagogical understanding, teaching experience) and external factors (supervisor support, school environment). Effective feedback enhances student comprehension, motivation, and engagement, yet many PSTs struggle with providing structured, actionable feedback. Novelty: This study uniquely focuses on PSTs’ feedback skills during FEP, highlighting key factors influencing their effectiveness and the impact on student learning. It also provides evidence-based recommendations for strengthening teacher education curricula by integrating structured feedback training, ultimately improving classroom interactions and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Objective: Study this to increase participants' self-regulated learning abilities and educate junior high school level through implementing the Experiential Seamless Learning model. Method: The research method used is the ADDIE development model proposed by Branch, involving 66 participants educated as subject research. Data was collected through a questionnaire to evaluate the eligibility product and test used to measure its effectiveness. Data analysis was done using a difference test (independent sample t-test). Results: The results of the study show that the Experiential Seamless Learning model, in a way, can significantly enhance participants' self-regulated learning education. Analysis indicates a significant difference between classes implementing this model and those using the learning method. The average value of self-regulated learning in classes using the Experiential Seamless Learning model is higher compared to class. Novelty: The novelty aspect of this study lies in the systematic integration between two learning models, experiential learning and seamless learning, which in previous studies were still applied separately. Another innovation of the Experiential Seamless Learning model is its use in improving self-regulated learning in the context of learning Indonesian at the junior high school level. The limitations of this study lie in the scope of the subject, which involved only two classes with a total of 66 students. In addition, the application of this model only covers seven of the ten dimensions of mobile seamless learning.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigated the effects of a case-based learning (CBL) approach on academic performance and cognitive skills among Grade 9 students. Specifically, it aimed to determine the level of students’ academic performance in Chemistry as exposed to CBL and non-CBL; assess students' level of cognitive skills; ascertain significant differences in students' cognitive skills; find out the difference in the student's academic performance and determine the significant difference on students' level of knowledge retention. Method: The study employed a quasi-experimental research design using two comparable group classes. A validated teacher-made questionnaire was used to determine students' academic performance. The Gibson Cognitive Skill questionnaire was used to measure cognitive skills. Results: It was found that students in both groups had better academic performance in the post-test than in the pre-test. Students exposed to CBL performed better and scored higher than those under non-CBL. Meanwhile, students exposed to CBL had high cognitive skills, while those exposed to non-CBL had moderate cognitive skills. There was a significant difference in students' cognitive skills between CBL and non-CBL groups. Moreover, a significant difference existed in students' academic performance in the post-test and retention test between the two groups. Novelty: Recognizing the positive effect of case-based learning on students' performance, science teachers may consider integrating CBL as a practical alternative pedagogical approach to address the problem of lack of retention of science concepts.
