FOCUS AND SCOPE Enggang adalah jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Enggang dipilih sebagai nama jurnal ini karena kehidupan masyarakat Kalimantan Tengah tidak jauh dari alam, termasuk kedekatannya pada burung yang bernama enggang. Burung enggang merupakan simbol kebesaran dan kemuliaan suku Dayak di Kalimantan Tengah. Burung enggang juga melambangkan perdamaian dan persatuan, sayapnya yang tebal melambangkan pemimpin yang selalu melindungi rakyatnya. Ekor panjangnya dianggap sebagai tanda kemakmuran rakyat suku Dayak. Kaitannya dengan jurnal ini, tidak lain adalah mengambil makna filosofis kebesaran burung enggang agar jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya ini, nantinya menjadi besar yang akan dikenal secara lokal, nasional, dan internasional. Jurnal Enggang sebagai jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya merupakan salah satu wadah untuk mengumpulkan dan melestarikan kekayaan kita yang tidak ternilai harganya. Tentunya kekayaan yang berhubungan dengan pendidikan bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Jurnal ini hadir untuk siapa saja yang mencintai dan ingin berkarya di bidang pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Selain itu, kami sebagai pengurus jurnal ini bersedia memberikan bimbingan dan pelatihan untuk siapa saja yang ingin maju dan berkompeten dalam hal menulis karya fiksi maupun nonfiksi. This study aims to describe how the character and ethics of children are formed through KKN activities held by the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. This research is a descriptive qualitative research using data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. The formation of children's character and ethics is very important to be formed from an early age. Accustoming children to being honest is an example of a small thing that children in Kampung Banjar 1 Kotapinang have to get used to. With the presence of North Sumatra State Islamic University KKN students in South LabuhanBatu district, they can create little by little changes regarding the character building and ethics of children in Kampung Banjar 1 Kotapinang. By utilizing existing local values, students participate in guiding and directing children to continue to carry out positive activities.

This research was conducted to improve the quality of researchers as prospective young teachers regarding the problem of learning outcomes in class VII SMP so that the author took the initiative to carry out the learning process through the number head Together model. Continuous development becomes a reference for self-improvement through an independent curriculum. This research was conducted based on the discovery of problems when carrying out learning, namely students who were less active and varying student abilities causing low learning outcomes. The number head together learning model is needed as an effort to increase student activity which can add new understanding to students. This research was conducted using classroom action research using data collection techniques through observation, tests and documentation. The research results showed that there was an increase in the percentage of student learning outcomes in pre-cycle activities, increasing from 36.66% to 76.66 in cycle 1 and 83.33% in cycle 2. This research was assisted by the application of the TaRL approach. So that the classroom action research carried out was successful.

This research was conducted using classroom action research to improve the quality of the learning process by increasing the low learning motivation of class VII 2 students at SMP Negeri 33 Palembang through providing reinforcement to students. The research method uses descriptive methods with percentages to obtain data. Researchers conducted observations on 30 students assisted by colleagues. The calculation results show that students' learning motivation in pre-cycle activities is only 45% with a rating of not good, therefore, to increase learning motivation in cycle 1, try to give rewards in the quite good category, namely 68%. , cycle 2 increased with good criteria, namely 79% and cycle 3 also experienced an increase with a very good predicate with a percentage of 89%. So with the percentage obtained in the third cycle having exceeded the target set by the author in this PTK, the author concludes that PTK increases learning motivation by strengthening the provision of rewards with the help of the TaRL approach and quiz technology evaluation media can improve students' learning abilities. motivation to learn.

This PTK research was carried out by researchers as an effort by researchers to improve the quality of Indonesian education regarding the learning outcomes of class VII students at SMPN 33 Palembang which according to researchers are still low. So the effort that will be made is a cooperative model of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type in Civics subjects. This research was conducted using a percentage descriptive research method in order to obtain good research data. Where data is collected in collaboration with Civics subject teachers and colleagues. The calculation results show that pre-cycle activities are 41.93% with a predicate of less than 65%, so as a follow-up it is necessary to improve the learning process. Next, the researcher made an alternative choice by carrying out the learning process using the TGT type cooperative model, obtaining results of 67.74% but had not achieved the target desired by the researcher, so cycle II was carried out using the TGT type cooperative. model in class VII PPKn learning at SMP Negeri 33 Palembang reached 93.54% and achieved the desired target, so this PTK was considered successful.

Literature can be the window to discern new perspectives about life and broaden the reader’s horizons. Botchan by Natsume Soseki is a novel that has a big theme about morality which can be comprehended by the archetypes of the people from a big city and remote area, yet the polemic that appeared is rooted in the discrepancy of the characters’ dispositions. The writers attempt to analyze it in the frame of gender study which later gets elaborated with the hegemonic masculinity in two questions: “In what way does Botchan represent hegemonic masculinity?” and “How do the hegemonic masculinity dispositions within Botchan affect Botchan’s relations with Hotta, Mr. Yoshikawa, and Red Shirt?” The writers utilized the close reading method alongside the gender study approach. The hegemonic masculinity from Botchan attracts the character with a similar disposition (Hotta) and dissociates with Red Shirt and Mr. Yoshikawa that do not embody hegemonic masculinity dispositions. The indicator for hegemonic masculinity is determined by multiple factors, such as strength, competitiveness, assertiveness, confidence, and independence. Hegemonic masculinity is a glimpse of the extensive range of the definition of masculinity, therefore it is fenceless for arguments from other notions.

Krumpyung Serambu is an artisan, maker, and traditional music studio located in Tegiri Hamlet, Hargowilis Village, Kokap District, Kulon Progo Regency. In the era of digitalization, there are certainly many opinions and facts that reveal the anxiety for traditional music, including Krumpyung, to remain and develop. Ethnographic study as a method tries to reveal the existence of Krumpyung Serambu in the digitalization era. Using a realist ethnographic model, the answers in this paper refer to data from participant observation and in-depth interviews conducted with Serambu informants. Data processing and analysis are done by using Spradley's technique with the stages of domain analysis, taxonomy analysis, component analysis, and cultural theme analysis. As a result, the existence sub-domain that refers to human activities such as the recognition of Krumpyung Serambu, Krumpyung Serambu's strategy, and the relationship between history, function, and presentation form reveals that the main domain of Krumpyung Serambu and its existence still survive and strive for development, especially in the digitalization era.

One of the physical limitations that attracts attention is blindness. In Indonesia, someone who experiences visual impairments is known as a blind person. This research focuses on PPSDSN Pendowo Kudus which is a Social Service Home for the Visually Sensory Disabled. Based on observations and interviews conducted by researchers regarding empowerment activities in the form of guidance at PPSDSN (Social Service Center for Visual Sensory Disabilities) Pendowo Kudus, data was obtained that the musical arts skills at PPSDSN Pendowo Kudus in their implementation experienced several obstacles including difficulties in memorizing the material and the unavailability of tutors since the start of the pandemic in 2019. Judging from the description that has been presented, the author attempts to provide a solution to this problem by proposing an idea for writing an article entitled "Analysis of the Use of Cartoon Braille Book Learning Media as an Effort to Increase the Aesthetic Sensitivity of the Blind". Through this research, it is hoped that people with visual impairments will find it easier to learn musical instrument. In this results and discussion section, the research team describes (1) How Efforts to Increase Aesthetic Sensitivity for Disabilities in general are linked to research at PPSDSN Pendowo Kudus, (2) What is the impact of using Braille Book Media, and (3) How is Braille Book Learning Media CARTOON. Braille Book KARTUNE is a learning media in the form of a book that contains musical notations for musical numbers printed in Braille and equipped with a barcode. The existence of the KARTUNE Braille Book Learning Media makes the musical team receiving benefits at PPSDSN Pendowo Kudus find it easier and more practical to learn musical notation for musical numbers.

This study aims to describe: (1) the author's ability in planning, implementing, and disseminating learning of negotiation text analysis using digital comics in Class X of SMA Pasundan 1 Bandung; (2) the condition of learning analysis of negotiation text in Class X of SMA Pasundan 1 Bandung before using digital comics; (3) the condition of learning after using digital comics as a learning medium; (4) the difference in the ability to write explanatory text between the experimental and control classes after using digital comics. The approach used was quantitative with a pure experimental method and a pretest-posttest control group design. The results of the study showed: (1) the author succeeded in planning, implementing, and starting learning with a score of 3.9 in planning and implementation, both in the very good category; (2) the pretest score of students in the experimental class before using digital comics was still below the minimum completion criteria, with an average of 20; (3) after using digital comics, the posttest score of the experimental class reached an average of 77 and met the minimum completion criteria; (4) The experimental class showed higher scores than the control class, as proven by the results of the pretest-posttest and independent sample t-test (Sig. value = 0.001 < 0.05).

A study cannot be separated from the problem that needs to be explained. The problem that arises from the background is how are the character values contained in picture story books? The purpose of this study is to describe the character values contained in picture story books. This type of research is qualitative. The object studied to be described is the character values contained in picture story books by Dini W. Tamam. The data in this study are in the form of sentences or paragraphs containing character education values. The data were collected through documentation and analyzed with the following steps: (1) data grouping, (2) data coding, (3) inference, (4) analysis. The main tool for collecting data is a table and the researcher as the main instrument. The results of the data analysis show that the book "The Most Exciting Collection of Character-Building Tales" has a variety of very relevant character values, such as religious, honest, tolerant, disciplined, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, appreciating achievement, friendly, loving peace, caring for society, and responsible. It is important to start character education early on, especially in the family environment. This book is very suitable for children under 10 years old because it contains fictional stories that carry valuable character education values for their future. Based on these results, the conclusion of this study is that the children's story book entitled "The Most Exciting Collection of Character-Building Tales" contains stories that are appropriate for children under 10 years old. This is because the book is proven to contain fictional stories that contain character education values. These character values are useful for the future.

Directive speech acts are one of the crucial aspects in the study of linguistic pragmatics that reflect how speakers use language to influence the actions or responses of their interlocutors. Utterances such as commands, requests, orders, and suggestions are concrete examples of this speech act. A profound understanding of directive speech acts helps us comprehend the complexity of human communication and social interactions in various contexts. Directive speech acts not only dominate everyday conversations but also constitute a significant element in literature, especially in novels. This research aims to analyze the directive speech acts contained in the novel "Keluarga Cemara 2". This qualitative study primarily utilizes data from the novel "Keluarga Cemara 2" by Arswendo Atmowiloto, along with several supporting research books. The results of the analysis of directive speech acts in this novel reveal six main categories, including 27 requests, 304 questions, 25 expressions of needs, 17 prohibitions, 20 permissions, and 16 items of advice. These findings are subsequently used to develop alternative teaching materials tailored to Competency Standard 3.9, "Analyzing the Content and Language of Novels." In this context, directive speech acts constitute the linguistic analysis of the novel, focusing on those analyzed from the dialogues and monologues of the novel's characters.
