FOCUS AND SCOPE Enggang adalah jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Enggang dipilih sebagai nama jurnal ini karena kehidupan masyarakat Kalimantan Tengah tidak jauh dari alam, termasuk kedekatannya pada burung yang bernama enggang. Burung enggang merupakan simbol kebesaran dan kemuliaan suku Dayak di Kalimantan Tengah. Burung enggang juga melambangkan perdamaian dan persatuan, sayapnya yang tebal melambangkan pemimpin yang selalu melindungi rakyatnya. Ekor panjangnya dianggap sebagai tanda kemakmuran rakyat suku Dayak. Kaitannya dengan jurnal ini, tidak lain adalah mengambil makna filosofis kebesaran burung enggang agar jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya ini, nantinya menjadi besar yang akan dikenal secara lokal, nasional, dan internasional. Jurnal Enggang sebagai jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya merupakan salah satu wadah untuk mengumpulkan dan melestarikan kekayaan kita yang tidak ternilai harganya. Tentunya kekayaan yang berhubungan dengan pendidikan bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Jurnal ini hadir untuk siapa saja yang mencintai dan ingin berkarya di bidang pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Abstract

This study aims to examine the moral elements in the poetry collection Doa Untuk Anak Cucu by W. S. Rendra. The results of the study, for alternative teaching materials for students at the Senior High School level class X. Students often find difficulties when analyzing the moral elements contained in poetry, one of the factors is the difficulty of finding the right teaching materials and only using teaching materials that are already available, there is no development of innovative teaching materials. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data source of this research is the book collection of poems Doa Untuk Anak Cucu by W. S. Rendra. The results of the analysis of moral elements in the poetry collection Doa Untuk Anak Cucu by W. S. Rendra, are as follows: Four moral elements were found, including man's relationship with himself, man's relationship with nature, man's relationship with society, and man's relationship with his God. The results of the data that have been studied fulfill the general characteristics of the study of the moral elements in poetry. Thus, the literary sociology analysis of the moral elements in the poetry collection Doa Untuk Anak Cucu by W. S. Rendra as an alternative literature teaching material in class X Senior High School, shows success.

Abstract

Central Kalimantan is a province in Indonesia located on Kalimantan Island. Most of the province's territory is covered by tropical rainforest. The lowlands are crossed by a swamp belt formed by the Lamandau, Arut, Seruyan, Katingan, Kahayan, Kapuas, and Barito rivers. Because Kalimantan has many river basins, its people also adhere to a way of life that is strongly influenced by nature. The values ​​contained in it are also the values ​​that exist in society. Central Kalimantan also has a lot of folklore because Central Kalimantan is divided into several Dayak tribes, and the unique topology of the region makes each folktale different. This research aims to represent society as presented through folk tales entitled Six Folk Tales of the Central Kalimantan watershed, describing the similarities and differences in values ​​in six folk tales, namely AMDM, TPTP, NBKA, KRPM, BTBI, and DBKBP originating from Barito, Kayahan, and Katingan. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research methodology. This research aims to describe the Comparison of Cultural Values ​​of Folklore in the Central Kalimantan River Basin (Hermeneutics and Intertextual Studies) as a representation of the values ​​of Dayak folklore in the Central Kalimantan River Basin. The Dayak people who live in the Central Kalimantan river basin certainly have unique values ​​compared to other areas of Central Kalimantan. Through a comparison of the six folktales, it can be seen that the cultural values ​​of the Dayak people include, among other things, cultural values ​​related to (1) cultural values ​​between humans, and (2) cultural values ​​with nature. , (3) cultural values ​​with society, and (4) human relationship with God.

Abstract

The research objective was to investigate the impact of the ARIAS (Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, Satisfaction) learning model on the ability of Grade VIII students at Galang 2 Public Middle School in writing film review texts. The population consists of 154 students in class VIII, with a sample of 30 people divided into the control and experimental groups. Researchers used the experimental method with a true experimental design and a quantitative approach. The instrument used is the essay test. The results explain 1) the ability to write film review texts for class VIII-C students (control group) at SMPN 2 Galang using conventional methods has a very low success rate, namely 52.63% of 30 students. 2) In contrast, the ability to write film review texts for class VIII-A students (experimental group) at SMPN 2 Galang using the ARIAS model has a very good success rate, reaching 91.93% of 30 students. In other words, the value of the ability to write film review text in the experimental group is greater than the control group. 3) The results of statistical analysis show that the calculated t value is 9.170 and the t table value is 1.67155. Because t count is higher than t table (9.170 > 1.67155), it can be concluded that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and (Ha) is accepted. This means that the use of the ARIAS learning model has a significant effect on the ability to write film review texts for Grade VIII students at SMPN 2 Galang.

Abstract

Innovation in waste utilization plays a crucial role in supporting environmental sustainability and the development of the creative economy. This study explores the successful efforts of students from the Non-Formal Education (PLS) Study Program at Universitas Palangka Raya in developing rattan bracelets made from recycled materials, particularly used PVC pipes. Through a sustainability-based entrepreneurial approach, students not only reduce plastic waste but also create products with high aesthetic and economic value. The research methodology includes raw material identification, an innovative production process, and marketing strategies. The findings indicate that using PVC pipes as molds in rattan bracelet production enhances shape precision, accelerates production, and increases market appeal. Furthermore, this innovation contributes to local community empowerment and supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in both environmental and economic aspects. Thus, the development of rattan bracelets from recycled materials not only serves as a creative solution for waste management but also opens entrepreneurial opportunities for PLS students.

Abstract

Indonesian is used by the Indonesian people as a means of communication, both in oral and written form, in various media. A good Indonesian is an Indonesian that is not flawed and must comply with the rules. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon on some social media sites, especially Instagram, to still find errors in the use of language. This research aims to identify Indonesian language usage errors in @lokersolo's Instagram posts. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative. The data was taken from several Lokersolo account posts. The validity of the data was checked in two ways, namely Intrarater and Interrater. The results show that there are several forms of language errors in the writing of @lokersolo's Instagram posts, including: (1) Spelling errors, including capitalization errors and the use of italics; and (2) punctuation errors, such as the use of separation marks, inappropriate semicolons, and commas. (2) Dictionary errors, especially related to the use of foreign languages and inappropriate compound words (3) Errors in writing effective sentences, which are caused by a lack of parallelism or misalignment in sentences and a lack of logic in sentence construction. From the conclusion of the research results, it can be stated that the @lokersolo Instagram account pays more attention to the use of correct and effective Indonesian language in their uploads, including proper spelling, appropriate word selection, and the arrangement of logical and parallel sentences. This will improve the quality of communication and professionalism of the account in delivering information to its followers.

Abstract

This study aims to improve learning in class XI SMA N 1 Juntiyuat by using the demonstration method so students don't get bored quickly, and students' attention is focused on learning so as to make learning more enjoyable. Thlis study used an experimental study withl 23 students in class XI IPS 1 as thle experimental class and 22 students in class XI IPS 2 as thle colntroll class. Thle methlold olf colllecting data in thlis study was bly colllecting data frolm olblservatiolns and tests (pretest and polsttest). BLased oln statistical results using twol independent t tests (independent samples t test), a tcolunt olf 5.560 is olbltained and a ttablle olf 1.714. Sol tcolunt (5.560) > ttablle (1.714). Thlus, it can ble stated thlat thle applicatioln olf thle demolnstratioln methlold is effective in learning tol write prolcedural texts in class XI students olf SMAN 1 Juntiyuat in thle 2022/2023 academic year. Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of public attention to reading interest so that it affects learning outcomes as a form of the quality of Indonesian education. One of the main factors to advance the Indonesian state is the quality of its population which is seen in the quality of Indonesian education, but in reality Indonesia is at a low level from other Southeast Asian countries, therefore the importance of familiarizing students from an early age to foster interest in reading by using interesting media, one of which is with picture storybooks. Thus this study was conducted to determine the effect of picture storybook media on students' reading interest. The approach used in this research is a non-experimental quantitatif aproach to a Survey Research Design. Data collection techniques through the distribution of questionnaires (questionnaires) and observation sheets. The sample used was purposive sampling because the total number of grade V students in Cigondewah Hilir Village exceeded 100 students. from in the process of the independent variable questionnaire, a score of 77.4% was obtained in the good category, reinforced by the results of observation sheet data for two meetings there was an increase in scores, namely at the first meeting of 6072 and the second meeting of 6199. Then the questionnaire processing on the dependent variable shows a percentage of 81.8% reading interest which is classified as very high. search on these findings Indicate that the independent variable (the use of picture storybook media) affects the dependent variable (student reading interest) by 60% and 40% is influenced by other factors. Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that there is an effect of using picture storybook media on the reading interest of fifth grade elementary school students in Cigondewah Hilir Village, Margaasih District, Bandung Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the brain writing learning model on the ability to write short stories in class XI students of SMK Negeri 4 Medan. The population of this research is all class XI as many as 286 people. This sample consisted of two classes of 58 students, class XI AV, control class (n = 28), experimental class (n = 28). This research method uses an experimental method with the type of post-test only control group design with a quantitative approach. This instrument is used with an essay test. The results of the study 1) the ability to write short stories in class XI AV3 students (control class) at SMK Negeri 4 Medan using the highest teacher centered learning (TCL) learning model is in the sufficient category with a percentage of 53% of 28 students. 2) the ability to write short stories in class XI AV1 (experimental class) SMK Negeri 4 Medan using the brain writing learning model is in the very good category 53% of 28 students. Thus it is said that the value of the ability to write short stories in the experimental class is higher than the control class. Based on the results of the analysis, the average post-test score for the control class was 61.46 with a standard deviation of 15.12; and the average score of the post-test scores for the experimental class was 84.6 with a standard deviation of 4.23. An increase of 23.14% occurred through the difference in post-test and post-test scores. The results of the calculation of the hypothesis test Tcount = 6.29 with t table at a significant level of 0.05 with df = n-1, df = 28-1 = 27 at a significant level α = 0.05 = 2.051. Because tcount > ttable, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Based on the results of the analysis above, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the brain writing learning model on the ability to write short stories for class XI students of SMK Negeri 4 Medan in the 2023/2024 Academic Year.

Abstract

  This study aims to find diction and language style contained in Jokowi's Presidential speech at the 2021 MPR Annual Session by analyzing and utilizing the results of the analysis as an alternative for the preparation of teaching materials for students in grade IX SMP / MTs. This research is descriptive research. Descriptive research is research that describes the results of its analysis in a narrative manner. The data sources in this analysis are the video of President Jokowi's speech at the 2021 MPR Annual Session and several supporting tribes. The results of this analysis contain six types of diction, six types of comparison language style, three types of opposition language style, one type of linking language style, and one type of repetition style. In general, the text of Jokowi's Presidential speech at the 2021 MPR Annual Session uses denotative diction, periphrasis language style, prolepsis or anticipation language style, climax language style, and parallelism language style. The results of this analysis are then adjusted to the demands of the 2013 curriculum which contains Basic Competencies (KD) and Core Competencies (KI). In addition, it is adjusted to the criteria for teaching materials which are assessed based on language aspects, learner psychology, and readability. Then, the results of the analysis are used as alternative teaching materials in the form of modules used by students of grade IX SMP / MTs in learning Indonesian language about Persuasive Speech Texts.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out what causes reading difficulties and the impact on the development of learning outcomes or student achievement in grades IV-VI SDN 104255 Pantai Labu. Factors that cause students' reading difficulties are 1). Lack of attention from both parents and teachers, 2). No concentration, 3). Too much use of gadgets, 4). There is no supervision from parents at home, 5). The impact and influence obtained during the Covid atmosphere made all teaching and learning activities not optimal. By using qualitative research methods, researchers were able to obtain data using observation sheets and interviews with teachers. This research was conducted in class IV-VI SDN 104255 Pantai Labu, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province using theme books as learning materials. The technique used by SDN 104255 is a conventional method (lecture method) which is used as one of the factors that makes it difficult for students to read. The sample from this study was around 100 students, of which there were around 20 students who had difficulty reading at SDN 104255. Therefore, it greatly affected student achievement or even failed to go to class. Therefore, actions and solutions are needed to overcome this so that it does not happen again. There must be attention from both parties, both parents and educators at school, of course. therefore, it can be concluded that the learning method used can affect the learning outcomes and persistence of a student to be good at reading.
