Abstract

Plasmodium is a parasite that causes malaria, which is transmitted to humans through the bite of female Anopheles mosquitoes. Plasmodium that infects red blood cells will cause the formation of new permeability pathway (NPP) in the red blood cell membrane. This change makes the red blood cell membrane more permeable, allowing various nutrients the parasite needs to enter the red blood cells. Resveratrol is a polyphenol compound that is reported to have antimalarial activity by inhibiting the growth of Plasmodium berghei. This study aims to activate the activity of resveratrol in inhibiting NPP. The study began with the preparation of blood suspensions that showed infection and non-infection, then test preparations were added and induced using sorbitol, and then hemolysis was measured using a UV-visible spectrophotometer. The test group consisted of normal groups, control and various concentrations of resveratrol, namely 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10 and 20 μM. The observation parameters in this study were the percentage of hemolysis inhibition. Based on the study’s results, the percentage of hemolysis inhibition increased with increasing resveratrol concentration. The IC50 value of the NPP inhibition activity test of resveratrol was 1.025 μM. This study concludes that resveratrol can inhibit NPP in erythrocytes infected with Plasmodium berghei.

Abstract

Good quality standards for health services are a level of perfection in health services, giving rise to a feeling of satisfaction in patients. This means that the more perfect the patient's satisfaction, the better the quality of health services. The aim of this review is to determine the level of patient satisfaction in hospital pharmacy installation services in Indonesia and to find out what factors influence the level of patient satisfaction in hospital pharmacy installations. . This review uses a narrative review which uses articles or journals published in 2014 -2024. The literature sources were obtained from the Google Scholar and Pud Med websites, namely 10 journals and were included in the inclusion criteria. The results obtained show that the friendliness of the staff, speed in administering medication, and comfortable facilities and infrastructure can increase patient satisfaction. In conclusion, the level of patient satisfaction is a reflection of the level of satisfaction in health services. The level of patient satisfaction is influenced by many factors, including the provision of drug information, the timeliness of drug administration services, the friendly attitude of staff, and the comfort of facilities and infrastructure which can increase patient satisfaction. Assessment of the quality of patient satisfaction services covers five main dimensions including: physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy.

Abstract

The lack of awareness of producers in adding dangerous preservatives such as borax and formaldehyde to food for sale on the market is a threat to society. Both ingredients are prohibited for human consumption because they can endanger health. Shallots and dragon fruit skin are believed to be able to detect borax and formaldehyde content in food because both ingredients contain anthocyanin compounds which are part of flavonoids. The aim of this research is to find out how to carry out a borax and formalin detection test by using red onions and dragon fruit skin and to find out whether there is borax and formalin content in food circulating in one of the traditional markets in Bandung. This research is experimental research. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The samples used were food circulating in one of the traditional markets in Bandung. Based on the research results, it was found that red onion extract (Allium cepa L.) and dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel extract positively contained flavonoids. In addition, 3 out of 10 food samples tested positive for formalin and 10 out of 10 food samples did not contain borax. This can be seen through the color change that occurs in the test sample solution. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that red onion extract and dragon fruit peel extract can be effectively used to identify borax and formaldehyde content in food

Abstract

Kulit wajah adalah bagian tubuh yang selalu terpapar debu, polusi, sinar ultraviolet, radikal bebas bahkan seringkali sisa sisa riasan jika tidak dibersihkan dengan baik. Oleh karena itu, kulit wajah harus mendapat perhatian ekstra agar tetap terjaga dengan baik. Perawatan wajah awal bisa dilakukan secara rutin dengan menggunakan pembersih wajah. Namun banyak pembersih wajah yang mengandung bahan kimia sintetis seperti triclosan yang dapat menyebabkan disfungsi tiroid. Untuk mengatasinya, Anda bisa menggunakan bahan alami seperti daun matoa. Ekstrak etanol daun matoa mempunyai efek antibakteri terhadap bakteri staphylococcus aureus. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui formula facial wash ekstrak etanol daun matoa dengan uji sifat fisik dan stabilitas sediaan, untuk mengetahui respon iritasi sediaan dan untuk mengetahui kesukaan responden. Metode penelitian ini yaitu eksperimental laboratorium. Hasil pengujian organoleptik dan homogenitas didapatkan hasil yaitu tidak ada perbedaan pada formula kecuali warna pada F3 lebih coklat tua. Pengujian pH didapatkan hasil tidak memenuhi standar pH. Berdasarkan pengujian statistik diketahui bahwa viskositas mendapatkan nilai p value <0,05 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dengan penggunaan konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun matoa. Pada hasil uji stabilitas, nilai pH pada ketiga formula tidak mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan, nilai daya sebar F3 mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan, nilai daya busa pada F1 mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan, nilai viskositas pada ketiga formula mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan. Hasil uji hedonik menunjukkan F1 mendapatkan rangking kesukaan pertama dengan persentase 33,90 %.

Abstract

Anthocyanins are flavonoid compounds that can be found in red, orange, purple, and blue coloured plants. The colour stability of these compounds is generally affected by temperature, pH and solvents. Anthocyanins tend to be stable at acidic pH and unstable at alkaline pH. Telang flower is a plant that has anthocyanin content. This anthocyanin content provides many benefits both in the health and food fields. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in solvent pH on the extraction of telang flowers on yield, extract pH, colour stability and to test antibacterial activity in extractions using alkaline solvents. This research method is to extract anthocyanins in telang flowers, using variations in solvent pH, then calculate the yield, pH of the extract, colour stability formed. This study also tested the potential antibacterial activity of extracts extracted using solvents in an alkaline atmosphere. The results showed that increasing the pH of the solvent increased the percent yield, the pH of the extract was obtained in the pH range of 4-8, with the anthocyanin content decreasing. The extract obtained has a different colour spectrum at each pH condition and the extract conditioned at alkaline pH has inhibitory activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Abstract

Indonesia termasuk dalam zona wilayah tropis yang mempunyai banyak tanaman sebagai bahan eksipien tablet yaitu pati talas pratama (Colocasia esculenta (L). Schott var. Pratama). Pada industri farmasi, penggunaan pati alam sangat terbatas dikarenakan pati alam mempunyai sifat alir dan kompresibilitas yang buruk sehingga banyak dilakukan modifikasi untuk mengatasi hal tersebut salah satunya yaitu dengan modifikasi pati alam menggunakan metode pregelatinasi sehingga sifat alir dan kompresibilitas dapat menjadi lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh suhu dan kecepatan pengadukan terhadap karakteristik pati talas pratama yang telah dimodifikasi secara pregelatinasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan eksperimen laboratorium menggunakan pati alami sebagai kontrol serta enam perlakuan modifikasi pati pregelatinasi, dimana 3 perlakuan menggunakan suhu 45 °C dengan kecepatan pengadukan 200, 250, dan 300 rpm dan 3 perlakuan menggunakan suhu 65 °C dengan kecepatan 200, 250, dan 300 rpm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pati alami dan pati pregelatinasi bertekstur serbuk halus berwarna putih kecoklatan, tidak berasa dan tidak berbau, pH pati alami dan pati pregelatinasi berada pada rentang 4,5-7,0, susut pengeringan semua pati berada pada <15%. Hasil uji laju alir pati alami dan pati pregelatinasi tidak dapat mengalir pada granul flow tester, tetapi sudut istirahat pati alami dan pati pregelatinasi telah memenuhi persyaratan yaitu ≤30°. Kompresibilitas yang tidak memenuhi persyaratan dengan kelembaban air yang tinggi yaitu pati alami, P1 dan P2. Hasil analisis statistik menggunakan One way ANOVA dan Post Hoc menghasilkan hasil pati pregelatinasi yang baik dengan peningkatan suhu dan kecepatan pengadukan, hasil terbaik pada pati pregelatinasi dengan perlakuan 65 °C dan 300 rpm.

Abstract

Gastritis is inflammation of the gastric mucosa caused by various factors, including lifestyle, food, irritation and infection. Inflammation of the stomach lining causes stomach ulcers. Based on the World Health Organization (WHO), 40.8% of Indonesia's population suffers from ulcers, and this disease is common in several large areas such as Jakarta, which is 274,396 cases out of 238,452,952 people. The World Health Organization (WHO) has turned its attention to the irrational use of drugs because more than 50% of drugs are prescribed, shipped, and sold globally without patient compliance or proper use. The purpose of this study was to review the rationality of the use of gastritis drugs in several hospitals. This study is a review of accredited journals and articles from the publication years 2019-2024. The data collection method involved analyzing fifteen journals using the relevant keywords "Rationality" and "Gastritis". Data sources were taken from the Google Scholar database, National Institutes of Health (NIH), PubMed, Sage Journal, and SinceDirect. Based on the review that has been conducted, the use of gastritis drugs in the hospital has been rational based on the accuracy of the diagnosis, indications, drug selection, dosage, route of administration, awareness of side effects and assessment of the patient's condition.

Abstract

Closed feet and long-term activities cause sweaty feet and damp conditions around the feet can cause odor. Foot odor is caused by a buildup of bacteria that breeds on damp feet. Some bacteria that cause foot odor include Staphylococcus epidermidis. Nettle leaf fractions (Urtica dioica L.) contain flavonoids, tannins, saponins and alkaloids which work as antibacterials for smelly feet. This research aims to determine whether the nettle leaf fraction (Urtica Dioica L.) can be formulated into a footspray preparation and what the activity of the nettle leaf fraction (Urtica Dioica L.) footspray preparation is on the growth of Staphylococcus Epidermidis bacteria. This research is an experimental research using methods of maceration, fractionation, formulation, evaluation of footspray preparations and testing of bacterial activity at concentrations of 12%, 13% and 14% using the disc diffusion method. The results of this research for formula concentrations of 12%, 13% and 14% meet the requirements for evaluating footspray preparations. Bacterial activity testing at concentrations of 12%, 13% and 14% had an average zone of inhibition of 15.1 mm (strong), 15.5 mm (strong), 16 mm (strong), respectively. It was concluded that the nettle leaf fraction (Urtica dioica L.) could be formulated as a footspray preparation and had antibacterial activity with the average zone of inhibition for each concentration being relatively strong in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus Epidermidis bacteria.

Abstract

The increase in the number of patients with chronic diseases makes the Program Rujuk Balik (PRB) BPJS play an important role in ensuring the effectiveness of treatment through the availability of medications at designated pharmacies. This study aims to analyze consumer satisfaction levels regarding the quality of prescription drug services of the Program Rujuk Balik (PRB) BPJS at Pharmacy X. The research employs a quantitative descriptive method involving 164 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained through a questionnaire measuring five dimensions of service quality : physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The results show that the level of consumer satisfaction with prescription drug services at Pharmacy X falls into the good category with an average score of 4.37. The level of satisfaction expected by consumers has an average score of 4.46, resulting in a gap value of -0.09, indicating that the service has met most of the consumers' expectations. In conclusion, the quality of prescription drug services under the Program Rujuk Balik (PRB) BPJS at Pharmacy X is rated as good, but there is still room for improvement, especially in aspects that show service gaps.

Abstract

Orsina-1 agribun variety of cat's whiskers (Orthosiphon stamineus O1A) is a superior variety with an environment-specific genotype, and provides high average wet and dry weight results when planted in lowland and medium areas. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of solvent concentration on the amount of yield and TLC profile of cat's whiskers leaf extract (Orthosiphon stamineus Benth) variety of orsina-1 agribun under optimization conditions. In this study, optimization of extraction conditions was carried out by determining the ratio of powder to solvent and extraction time that gave the highest amount of yield using the maceration method. To determine the effect of solvent concentration on the amount of yield and TLC profile, O1A cat's whiskers leaf extract was macerated under optimization conditions using ethanol solvents 96%, 70%, 50%, 30% and water (ethanol 0%). Anova was applied and the significant effect of factors was tested at 95% confidence intervals. The results of the study showed that differences in extraction concentrations affected the yield of ethanol extract under optimization conditions (p-value = 0.000-0.001, p-value < α).
