Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of project-based learning (PBL) in enhancing the entrepreneurial skills of Grade 9 TLE cookery students at Amontay National High School for SY 2024–2025. It aimed to assess pre- and post-test scores in entrepreneurial competencies, compare the effectiveness of haptic engagement and cooperative & team-based learning, and determine the significance of score differences. A quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-tests was used. Purposive sampling selected 80 students, split between haptic engagement and cooperative learning groups. A validated researcher-made assessment measured skills in business planning, marketing, financial literacy, leadership, creativity, problem-solving, and communication. Findings showed significant improvement in entrepreneurial competencies after PBL. Both strategies enhanced skills, though cooperative learning showed higher post-test gains in most areas. T-test results confirmed statistically significant differences before and after PBL, affirming its effectiveness. The results suggest that structured PBL strengthens student competencies by offering real-world learning experiences. The study recommends that teachers and school heads integrate structured PBL approaches into entrepreneurship instruction, supported by experiential learning and partnerships with industry. Curriculum developers are encouraged to embed PBL in TLE subjects to promote innovation and collaboration. Future research may explore its long-term impact, including employer perspectives and digital entrepreneurship integration. This study affirms PBL as a valuable tool for developing essential entrepreneurial skills and preparing students for active economic participation.

Abstract

the academic workplace, balance is under attack today more than ever before. It delves into the personal and social lived experiences of the participant who are faculty and at the same time academic leader of a state university in Northern Mindanao. Advanced research investigates how participants in higher education navigate and negotiate the multiple roles within and outside of their academic careers-pure description 14-campus environment used a phenomenological research design, involved academic leaders as participants, and individual, in-depth interviewed 14 campus participants with experiences deemed meaningful to exploring struggles and experience behind. In addition, coping behaviors and leaders' leadership philosophies. The academic experiences of these participants express the very real cost of wearing many hats, little time for oneself and high chances of burning out. But they also deploy several strategies that shape work culture to lean in a more positive direction. These involved controlling timing, limits and encouraging a healthy-lead culture. The participants also felt that they are the focus in this study and include everybody in policy construction and would want more diverse representations and on the other hand would guarantee campus acceptance of this policy. This study also identified that decision-makers need to act on evidence, and policy needs room to guide as the situation changes. University leaders may use the findings of this study to draft policies that enhanced work-life balance and organizational effectiveness. The self-care and mission can enable academic volunteers to set a stage for learning that works, the researcher, the faculty, students, and the community.  experiences.

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study investigated the effectiveness of Quick Response (QR) Code identification cards in monitoring student attendance at Jesus F. Magsaysay Technical Vocational High School during the 2022–2023 academic year. A total of 200 participants, including students, teachers, and administrators, provided data through surveys and interviews. Findings revealed that the QR Code ID system significantly enhanced attendance monitoring, with 78% of respondents reporting improved accuracy and 85% describing the system as easy to use. Statistical analysis showed a significant increase in attendance rates (t(99)=10.07, p<.05), indicating that the technology positively influenced student attendance behavior. Additionally, 70% of participants observed better punctuality and consistency among students. Although minor technical issues and unclear usage guidelines were identified, these challenges did not outweigh the system’s overall benefits. The results affirm the effectiveness of QR Code technology in improving attendance tracking and promoting student responsibility. Broader adoption, coupled with ongoing system updates and user training, is recommended to further enhance performance and support the advancement of digital attendance management in educational institutions.

Abstract

The research, “The Power of Teaching Attitudes of Teachers and Students ‘Performance at Indanan National High School (Annex)” results showed that teachers in English, Mathematics, Science have very high teaching attitudes which were described as excellent along eight dimensions – clarity, enthusiasm, interaction, organization pace disclosure speech and rapport. Nevertheless, despite these favorable attitudes, academic performance in students was reported as being at a “Satisfactory” level and statistical analyses (t-test and ANOVA) found no significant correlation between teachers’ attitudes to teaching and student grades nor across subjects. The results imply that the impact of positive teaching attitude on a conducive learning climate may be overridden by other factors like instruction, students motivation to learn and home background in relation to their influence on academic achievement.

Abstract

Innovations employed in farming are usually done by integrating the existing sugarcane production technologies.  The main purpose of innovation is to increase production and to sustain the sugarcane industry. The study aims to validate some of the soil rejuvenation and post-harvest innovations practiced by the farmers that could affect their sugar production. The descriptive method of research is employed in the study.  The 320 sugarcane farmers were randomly identify at the seven locations in the Visayas area of the Philippines using the Slovin’s formula. An instrument used was the validated survey questionnaire used by the group of Oñal in their study since 2021.  Frequency count, mean, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation were utilized in the data analyses. Key findings showed that the average production of sugarcane farms in the Visayas was between 50-64 tons per hectare (TC/ha) when grouped by location (alpha = 0.05). Correlation analysis show that application of correct quantity of lime and mill waste have a strong relationship with production (ɑlpha = 0.01), while the correct lime placement (ɑlpha = 0.05) and practice of green manuring (ɑlpha = 0.01) have a moderate relationship, respectively. For post-harvest innovations, correlation analysis implied that the delivery of freshly cut cane to the mill is strongly correlated with the production.

Abstract

Amidst the pandemic, the Teknoy-Inquiry Assistant (TINA) system was created to accommodate student institution–related questions while following the restrictions implemented by the government. Due to the rushed design, users experience untimely response problems when using the service. The research aims to investigate and propose improvements to the TINA system for the sustainability of the service. The researchers focused on the turn-around time for the replies to the questions in the TINA system. To further justify the importance of addressing the turn-around time of replies, the researchers also investigated the meaningful relationship between student satisfaction and response time. The researchers addressed and resolved the reply time using Kano Analysis. The research also used purposive sampling, using researcher-made survey questionnaires to find the relationship between student satisfaction and the timeliness of replies. With the help of the Pearson correlation coefficient, the researcher found a positive correlation between student satisfaction and reply time, with a positive correlation value of 0.4090. Since a positive correlation is found between student satisfaction and reply time, improving the turn-around time of reply certainly increases student satisfaction. Therefore, to improve TINA, the researchers advocate implementing its Artificial Intelligence Chatbot version to improve reply time. The research is the first to contribute to the Field of Technology and University Services within the local context since it may give practical suggestions on properly creating an Inquiry Assistant System among regional universities.

Abstract

Due to the high attrition rates of teachers in private institutions in the Philippines, this multi-method quantitative study aims to investigate the extent of the influence of affective, normative, and continuance commitment to work engagement among professional teachers in private educational institutions. This includes qualitative insights into the cultural values and traits that affect them. A total of 184 samples were collected from professional Filipino teachers in six educational institutions. Multiple linear regression was employed, ensuring all assumptions were met. The results show that affective and normative commitment influence work engagement, while continuance does not. The teachers are primarily engaged and committed due to their interactions with students and colleagues, which are amplified through the Filipino cultural traits and values of kapwa (shared identity), pakikisama (social harmony), utang na loob (debt of appreciation), pakikipagkapwa (social identity), malasakit (care), and bahala na (acceptance of fate).  This study explores work engagement and commitment among Filipino professional teachers in the Philippine cultural context, building on the theories of the job demands-resources model, social exchange, and norm reciprocity. Future studies can include novel well-being variables and intervention studies.

Abstract

This action research examined the impact of a mini-sports tournament on the sports participation of Grade 10 Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) students at Bulacan State University–Laboratory High School. The study aimed to address the decreasing engagement in physical activities among students who face heavy academic workloads. A pre-test and post-test survey measured students’ participation levels before and after the intervention, and the data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, which yielded a z-score of −4.043 and a p-value of .000, indicating a statistically significant difference below the .05 level. Results showed a notable increase in students’ enthusiasm, teamwork, and participation in sports following the tournament. The activity provided an avenue for relaxation and social interaction, helping students balance their academic responsibilities with physical well-being. The findings demonstrate that structured sports programs can effectively promote engagement and motivation without compromising academic performance. This study highlights the importance of integrating physical education and extracurricular sports into academic settings to foster holistic student development and enhance both physical health and academic productivity among high school learners.

Abstract

The study describes the development of the data repository system for Bulacan State University’s Department of Information Technology that was accomplished using Google Sites. The system is an orderly, accessible mechanism for storage, conservation, and administration of digital resources. Quantitative research was conducted to utilize questionnaires and document analysis to investigate whether there is a need for a central repository. The respondents were randomly chosen using simple random sampling, and they comprised domain experts and department members who were lecturers. The repository was analyzed using the ISO 25010:2011 method to optimize the appreciable challenges presented in document fixing, including duplicating files and links, the lack of ample space, data corruption, the inadequacy of keywords in the search, and the issue of migration. Using Google Sites to implement it, thus making the system more accessible and usable thus this can be a practical example of a departmental document repository. It supports its purpose in improving productivity, accessibility, and long-term preservation. The study demonstrates that the use of the developed system largely reduces errors associated with document management and presents an organized, efficacious, and dependable central mechanism in addressing the common challenges in digital resource conservation and retrieval.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how advertising authenticity and emotional triggers influence consumer purchase intention through emotional engagement in the context of short-form video advertising in Indonesia. To achieve this objective, this study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design. Respondents consisted of active TikTok and Instagram Reels users in Indonesia who, in the past three months, have watched or interacted with short-form video advertisements. Data collection was conducted online using a structured questionnaire, then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique. The results showed that advertising authenticity and message relevance significantly increased emotional arousal and nostalgia. Both affective responses were shown to drive emotional engagement, leading to increased purchase intentions. Emotional arousal was identified as the strongest predictor of engagement and impulsive decisions. This study extends the Cognitive–Affective–Conative (CAC) model to short video marketing and highlights nostalgia as a culturally relevant emotion in Indonesia. Despite these findings, the study's cross-sectional design limits causal interpretation; future studies should adopt longitudinal approaches. Brands are advised to focus on authentic storytelling and emotionally charged narratives within brief short video formats.
