Abstract

This study investigated the influence of path-goal theory of leadership styles and the moderating role of task structure in leadership on teachers' satisfaction, motivation, and performance in the Division of San Pablo City public secondary schools. The research design adopted for this study was a descriptive-correlational study involving survey questionnaires administered to 579 junior high school teachers across 13 public secondary schools. Data analysis utilized mean, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Findings indicate that teachers perceived their school heads as demonstrating directive, supportive, participative, and achievement-oriented leadership styles. Task structure in leadership was generally perceived favorably. Teachers exhibited moderate job satisfaction, positive work motivation, and very satisfactory performance across various domains. Correlation analysis revealed significant positive relationships between path-goal theory of leadership styles, work motivation, and teachers' performance. However, no significant relationship was found between leadership styles, task structure in leadership, and job satisfaction. Task structure in leadership showed a weak negative correlation with job satisfaction and a moderate negative correlation with aspects of work motivation but no significant relationship with teachers' performance. Regression analysis demonstrated that path-goal theory of leadership styles directly influenced work motivation and teachers' performance, while job satisfaction had a strong baseline level independent of leadership styles. Task structure in leadership moderated the relationship between leadership styles, job satisfaction, and teachers' performance but did not moderate work motivation. This study contributes to understanding leadership practices that positively influence teachers' motivation and performance, offering implications for enhancing school leadership and improving educational quality.

The study was descriptive with a researcher-made questionnaire as the instrument of the study. The questionnaire was administered to 661 teachers in the Division of San Pablo City for school year 2022-2023. The data collected were treated using mean scores, standard deviation, Pearson product moment correlation, simple regression, and multiple regression analysis. Results show following findings: the teachers are all well equipped with the desired readiness needed to conduct research studies; school-related factors are very important in influencing teachers' engagement in research investigations; teacher's ability to do research projects is greatly influenced by their cognitive ability, the school's support and assistance, the principal's leadership skills, and the research culture at their institution; the teachers were all well-versed in each of the parts of a research paper; the teachers’ research skills is significantly related to the teachers’ readiness to conduct research and the effect of school factors; the relationship between effect of school factors in research engagement and challenges in conducting research is significant as well as with research productivity and research skills; and the supportive environment significantly mediate the relationship between the teachers’ level of research readiness and level of teachers’ research skills but does not significantly mediate the teachers’ level of research readiness and level of their research productivity. Strategic planning and support from the school through the developed standard school support program is encouraged.

Abstract

Blended learning integrates in-person and online learning, resulting in a flexible learning environment. The main objective of this study is to determine the perceived level of blended learning effectiveness among Grade 12 STEM students from a Philippine private university based in the City of Manila. It also examined the relations between the learners' attitudes, level of efficacy in using the LMS, and academic support received from parents and teachers. A total of 202 SHS students answered the survey questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Spearman Rho, and multiple regression were employed to analyze the data. Findings show a positive attitude of the learners on the use of blended learning as a mode of learning (x͂ = 4), high self-efficacy on the use of LMS (x͂ = 4), high academic parental support (x͂ =4) and high teachers' support (x͂ = 4). The findings of their perceived effectiveness of blended learning show a high rating with a x͂ = 4. The Spearman Rho tests found each variable's correlation with blended learning effectiveness. Both instructors' academic support for students and learners' attitudes had a strong positive correlation; LMS self-efficacy had a moderately positive correlation, while parents' academic support had a weak positive correlation. Multiple regression tests revealed that learners' attitudes, academic support from parents and teachers, and students' level of efficacy in using the LMS design feature all predict effective blended learning.

Moreover, most of the male and female child participants were under 17, first-born child with one sibling belonged to household members of three, nephews of queer parents and lived with their non-biological parents for more than 14 years. The queer parents’ child rearing styles were lax parenting style and disciplinarian style. Two emerging themes derived from the participants' experiences, such as their lived experiences consisting of three sub-themes: being raised by non-biological parents, being bullied and having conflict with parents. Similarly, two sub-themes were derived from the theme description of the present life, such as comfortable life and crossing to life challenges. The child adjustment that emerged was psychosocial. The emerging well-being of the child participants was life contentment. The emerging sub-themes under the description of parents’ way of rearing a child were composed of imposition of discipline, provision of basic needs and inculcation of the value of education. The child participants were appreciative and satisfied with the kind of life they had. Since most of the parents were single, the government through the local government units may properly disseminate the Solo Parent Act as to benefits and privileges under the law through series of orientation and assist the queer parents to have their Solo Parents card. Non-government organization, civic organization and the church may conduct series of guidance and counselling, psychological intervention and spiritual nurturing programs and activities to enhance the quality of life among child of the queer parents.

Abstract

The role of learners in the learning process has increasingly evolved in the learning process, leaning towards a more active and participatory role in the learning process. The article explores the value of co-creation of learning and proposes that this value-in-use in the co-creation process is the learner’s intrinsic motivation. The study attempts to extend the self-determination theory by exploring learner experiences and presents a conceptual framework. The study finds that students that co-create their learning experiences in event marketing classes lead to self-motivation.
