Abstract

Economic growth in Medan will increase in 2022 by 4.71%. Economic growth is increasingly developing, which is gradually contributing to the decline in unemployment rates in Medan. Based on statistical data (2020), the unemployment rate decreased by 10.74% from the previous year in the last 3 years. However, many unemployed people in Medan are classified as open unemployment with the causal factor being layoffs. However, even though the unemployment rate is almost decreasing every year, population growth is also increasing every year, this also has an effect on increasing the workforce in Medan. The increase in the number of workers every year requires balancing the number of jobs that are not proportional to the number of employees available and many workers choose to start new independent businesses as entrepreneurs or freelancers. Therefore, it is necessary to plan shared work space facilities or what is better known as Co-Working Space as a method of working with other people from different companies/organizations in one place and being able to work together in a situation like this. Located on Jalan Gajah Mada, Medan Baru District, Medan City. The general method for designing co-working spaces with the Tropical Architectural Concept uses qualitative and programmatic descriptive methods to explain problems and describe existing conditions and climate conditions in the city of Medan and is identified in accordance with theories and standards that have been used.

Abstract

The common activities of working and learning, usually carried out in office spaces and classrooms, sometimes create boredom for employees and students. To alleviate this monotony and pressure in work, co-working spaces & cafés are built with the aim of supporting work and learning activities in a flexible and dynamic environment. These spaces cater to various needs such as writing, teamwork, exchanging ideas, and interacting, providing a solution to both office and learning requirements. The design method applied involves a cyclical process that begins with the problem of how to utilize space to support work and learning activities in a more relaxed atmosphere. The proposed design concept for the co-working space & café is intended to address these initial challenges. The tropical architecture concept used in this design draws inspiration from the transformation of the Rumah Manka in two stages: the needs of working and learning activities, and the requirements for relaxation and commercial activities.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of journalists as part of the supervisory pillar of the authorities, in reporting on the murder case of Brigadier Joshua. Journalists play a role in providing accurate information regarding the actual situation, in this case uncovering the murder of Brigadier Joshua. So that the tangled thread of the murder case of Brigadier Joshua committed by his superiors can be revealed. To answer this problem, researchers used qualitative research methods and conducted in-depth interviews using a phenomenological approach. The results of the research show that the initial information conveyed by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) regarding the death of Brigadier Yosua gave rise to skepticism among journalists so this information was not immediately accepted. Regarding this matter, journalists stimulate the public by using diction, for example with the word "irregularities". Journalists who initially only conveyed information and tended to be passive, became active players through verification and independent investigations carried out to take various angles or framing of the case in question so that they were able to move the parties to react and make this case an important issue within the National Police that must be resolved immediately, and demands the government to enforce the law as fairly as possible
