Abstract

Work accidents in healthcare facilities, such as community health centers (Puskesmas), pose a serious problem that affects the safety and well-being of healthcare workers. This study aims to evaluate the impact of occupational safety awareness programs on reducing the incidence of work accidents at Puskesmas Klari, Karawang. The research uses a quantitative approach with an analytical survey design, involving 50 healthcare workers as respondents using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through validated and reliable questionnaires and analysed using logistic regression to determine the impact of safety awareness on the occurrence of work accidents. The results show that safety awareness programs significantly influence the increase in healthcare workers' awareness, which is followed by a decrease in work accident rates. The "Aware" group saw a 30% increase in awareness after training, and this group experienced a 20% reduction in work accident incidents. The "Somewhat Aware" group also showed a 15% increase in awareness and a 20% decrease in incidents. However, the "Unaware" and "No Response" groups demonstrated lower improvements in awareness and reductions in incidents, with increases of only 5% and 10%, respectively. This indicates that the current awareness programs are still not fully effective for groups with low awareness or those who are apathetic. The conclusion of this study is that comprehensive and continuous occupational safety awareness programs can increase awareness and reduce the incidence of work accidents at Puskesmas Klari. However, developing more varied training programs tailored to the specific needs of healthcare workers is necessary to achieve optimal effectiveness. Evidence-based and participatory safety policies also need to be implemented to strengthen workplace safety practices. This study provides significant contributions to developing occupational safety policies in healthcare facilities in Indonesia

Abstract

The correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is an essential measure in preventing nosocomial infections within healthcare facilities. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of educational interventions on the proper application of PPE in improving compliance among healthcare workers in the HIV and TB clinics at the Klari Subdistrict Health Center, Karawang Regency. A quasi-experimental method was employed, utilizing a pretest-posttest design with a control group. A total of 30 healthcare workers were included as the study sample, divided into experimental and control groups. The educational intervention was conducted over two days, involving intensive training, simulations, and discussion sessions. The study results showed a significant increase in PPE compliance in the group that received the educational intervention, from 40% before the intervention to 60% afterward. Additionally, the proportion of healthcare workers with partial non-compliance decreased from 35% to 25%, while those who did not use PPE at all decreased from 25% to 15%. These findings highlight the importance of structured and continuous education in raising awareness and compliance among healthcare workers regarding PPE use, as well as the role of supervision and adequate PPE availability in maintaining consistent adherence to safety protocols. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the Health Office and other healthcare institutions in developing policies to improve occupational safety for healthcare workers

Abstract

Every communication program has a strategy to ensure its success. As is the case with the Family Planning (Keluarga Berencana a.k.a KB) communication program initiated in the Haryono Suyono era. The program has become a spotlight in the world that Indonesia is able to control the birth rate. The purpose of this paper is to find out what the implementation of the Haryono era family planning communication program looks like, how it is evaluated, and if it is implemented in the current era, is it possible. The data collection method uses direct interview techniques. Thus, this paper uses a qualitative approach. It can be concluded that the implementation of the family planning program run by Haryono Suyono uses 3 (three) principles, namely (1) forming and maintaining a personal and humanist communication network, (2) setting and maintaining communication targets through simple messages, (3) the time dimension. Communicators need to maintain their reputation and have the authority and support to carry out family planning communication programs. Thus, the implementation of the program can be efficient and effective.

Abstract

The massive collection of non-timber forest products has led to around 80% of the land in Wan Abdul Rachman Forest Park (Tahura WAR) being controlled by the community. This has resulted in an increase in the rate of deforestation and damage to the forest canopy. Forest sustainability is one of the unresolved problems throughout Indonesia, the rate of forest destruction is higher than the preservation or planting of trees. Likewise in Lampung Province, the basic problem is the increasing population growth so that there are needs that must be met, while the availability of land does not increase. However, ecological impacts are not the only aspect of concern. Related to this, gender issues are also a serious concern in the context of agricultural and plantation expansion. Research has shown that there are significant gender differences in terms of dependence on forests for livelihoods and intended use of forest resources. Women in the KTH Tahura WAR have a role as those who do not directly benefit from the forest. Many women do not enter the forest and manage the land directly, but rather process a small portion of forest products into finished products with limited marketing. This research aims to analyse women's participatory communication in the preservation and management of sustainable forest resources in Tahura Wan Abdul Rachman, Lampung Province. The research method used in this study is qualitative ethnographic communication, which focuses more on social reality in the process of interaction between individuals in carrying out daily activities. The results showed the existence of participatory communication with four dimensions of participatory communication, namely heteroglasia, dialogue, polyponni, carnival. In the efforts to conserve and manage forest resources carried out by women around the forest, they have an important role as part of the non-timber forest product collection actors. Although women's participatory communication in the utilisation of forest resources is still minimal, researchers provide two important contexts to complement inclusive participatory communication, namely collaboration and cultural expression in forest resource manageme

Abstract

Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) refers to the widespread problem of insufficient access to clean water, appropriate sanitation, and effective hygiene practices. Inadequate WASH practices can lead to health issues, including diarrheal illnesses, which hinder children's development and make it more difficult for them to absorb vital nutrients. This study aimed to identify and extract the essential features and components of stunting determinants, including water, sanitation, and hygiene. This research was categorized as a scoping review because it did not appraise or analyze the methodological quality of the included studies. A scoping review design was employed in this investigation. The PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews) criteria were used in this study. A thorough search was carried out using ScienceDirect, EBSCO, and PubMed to find papers published between 2014 and 2024. According to research results, it is currently believed that there are determinant factors that influence stunting, such as water, cleanliness, and sanitation. This has a significant impact on the children’s development. Stunting in children under five years of age is at risk due to unclean environments and poor sanitation. Enhanced sanitary facilities and on-site water availability improved the health of expectant mothers and children. Studies have indicated that WASH treatment significantly improves children under five years old with a mean height-for-age z-score
