Abstract

Wisata Kampung Purba Dayu, Gondangrejo, and Karanganyar villages are designated tourist villages based on Regent Decree No. 556/378 of 2020. The existence of the Dayu Antiquities Museum, covering an area of 10,500 m2, is a supporting capacity for a prehistoric life science research center. This Museum stores various fossils that were once found in Dayu Village, which are traces of the journey of ancient humans. This Museum is fascinating to be used as a tourist destination for people of various ages. A separate reason why Dayu Village has become its own ancient village tourism village is that the village has a natural beauty that is still maintained on its natural side and treasures traditional culture. It is hoped that development program activities can reduce community poverty. This study analyzes the development strategy of Dayu Ancient Village. Data can be descriptively qualitative and analyzed using SWOT analysis techniques. The results of this study show that the S-O (strength-opportunities) strategy applied aims to use the strengths possessed by utilizing existing opportunities. The S-T (Strengths-Threats) strategy aims to utilize the strengths to minimize existing threats. Existing threats. W-O (Weakness-Opportunities) strategy aims to minimize weaknesses owned by utilizing existing opportunities. The W-T (weakness-threat) strategy aims to minimize weaknesses to avoid threats. The results showed that in making a tourism village development strategy through the application of the Pentahelix model, it is hoped that it can be implemented and can help the community in uniting the goals of developing a well-impacted and conceptualized tourism village, especially in Dayu Gondangrejo Ancient Village, Karangayar. Through collaborative communication from academia, business, community, government, and media, the strategies found here are the existence of 4 Identification and seen from internal and external factors or extreme weakness, opportunity, and treatment, where the SO, WO Energy, ST Energy, and WT energy strategies produce 5 strategies each that can be applied in Dayu Ancient Village.

Abstract

This research aims to map potential and formulate appropriate development strategies in the development of Sidan Dam as a green tourism-based destination that provides education and conservation of the surrounding nature. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through the analysis of natural, artificial, and cultural potentials that can support economic, socio-cultural aspects and reduce the impact on the surrounding environment. Data collection was conducted through field surveys, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and documentation studies. Sidan Dam has significant potential to be developed as an ecotourism destination that integrates environmental conservation activities and education in tourism. The concept is relevant considering the adequate natural potential and the development of supporting facilities. The development of tourism at the Sidan Dam needs to focus on educational tourism infrastructure that is still under construction, which can support learning about water resource management and the surrounding environment, as well as the development of nature-based tourism activities that are conservation-oriented and do not harm the environment. The development of tourism in the Sidan Dam area is expected to provide sustainable benefits for the surrounding community and environmental preservation.

Abstract

Business resilience is an essential issue in entrepreneurship studies, especially in the tourism industry support sector in Bali. Dynamic and rapid changes in the industrial environment often threaten business sustainability, especially in the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) sector, the backbone of the Balinese economy. Although SMEs significantly contribute to the tourism sector, this sector remains vulnerable to change and has a relatively short business life. This study explores the factors determining business resilience in tourism-supporting SMEs by examining the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership, agility, collaboration, and resilience. This study uses a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis through SMART PLS 3.0 software. Data were collected from 261 SME entrepreneurs in the creative tourism industry sector in Bali through a questionnaire. The study results indicate that entrepreneurial leadership has a direct positive effect on agility and resilience. Other findings suggest that agility directly affects collaboration and resilience, while collaboration contributes positively to resilience. In addition, the study’s results suggest an indirect effect, where agility acts as a mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and resilience. At the same time, collaboration mediates the relationship between agility and resilience. This study makes an essential contribution to the Bali tourism sector by showing that entrepreneurial leadership, agility, and collaboration are key elements to increase the resilience of SMEs in facing industry dynamics. These findings provide practical insights for SME actors to strengthen business resilience through improving leadership skills, developing agility, and strategic collaboration to support the sustainability of the tourism sector in Bali

Regression equation and coefficient of determination (R2). The result of the coefficient of determination or (R2) is 0.629 which shows that 62.9% of employee engagement is influenced by perception of organizational support and job satisfaction. While 37.1% is influenced by other causes not examined in this study. the perception variable t count is 4.063 with sig. 0.000 <0.05, then the perception of organizational support has a significant effect on employee engagement. While for the satisfaction variable t count is 1.112 with sig. 0.271>0.05 then job satisfaction does not significantly affect employee engagement. Abstract

This paper reports on the English Language Teaching (ELT) in Indonesia and the significance of a proposed approach to the ELT, that is, World Englishes. Library research was conducted to answer principal questions regarding “which prestigious variety should be used, the local English teacher (non-native English teacher) and inner-circle teacher debate (native English teacher), and impact of English affecting local languages. The report concludes with recommendations on how to deal with the three issues”. The first recommendation is to incorporate World Englishes teaching method into ELT in educational institutions nationwide hence provide first-hand experience of varieties of Englishes used in other countries. Secondly, it was suggested that it is more efficient to have both native and non-native English Teachers to teach at a language institution. Lastly, as English travels worldwide it may affect heritage languages thus Jenkins (2015) proposes, students should be made aware of their native languages as their identities and function it together with English (Jenkins, 2015, p. 176). Ultimately, bilingualism is essential in order to employ English as the international language but not forgetting to maintaining local languages as students’ important cultural asset

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the empowerment of coffee farmers in Bokon Village, Tiom District, Lanny Jaya Regency, Papua, as an effort to improve community welfare. The urgency of this research lies in the challenges faced by farmers, such as low productivity, limited access to technology and information, and low quality of human resources. This research uses a qualitative approach with a field study method, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document study to collect primary and secondary data. The results show that empowerment through coffee farmer groups has had a positive impact on the income and welfare of local communities. Innovations in cultivation techniques, such as the utilization of shade plants and organic fertilizers, have successfully improved the quality of coffee production. However, the main challenges are still related to the low education level of farmers, the lack of interest of the younger generation to engage in the agricultural sector, and the lack of infrastructure support and market access from the government. The empowerment of coffee farmers in Bokon Village has great potential in improving the socio-economic conditions of the community. Increased government attention is urgently needed in the form of training, technical assistance, and expansion of marketing networks to support the sustainability of coffee farmer empowerment and the regeneration of young farmers in the region
