Abstract

This community service program addressed the limited digital promotion capacity of J2 Pottery, a clay craft enterprise in Bandulu, Anyer, Serang. Although the partner produces various pottery products and provides educational pottery activities, its promotion still relied on word-of-mouth and an Instagram account that had not been managed systematically. The program aimed to strengthen the partner’s capacity in digital marketing through Instagram-based promotion, product photography, content creation, and account management assistance. The method used a participatory-educational approach consisting of initial observation and interviews, partner needs identification, program socialization, digital marketing training, product photography and promotional content training, Instagram management assistance, and monitoring and evaluation. The program helped the partner understand Instagram as a digital storefront, produce clearer product photos, prepare more informative captions, hashtags, and a simple content calendar. The results indicate that structured assistance can improve the partner’s digital promotion capacity in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to improve the attractiveness of Keraton Kaibon tourism through social media-based promotion strategies in Kasunyatan Village, Kasemen District, Serang City. The main issue identified is the low optimization of digital promotion, resulting in unstable visitor numbers despite the site's high historical and cultural value. The program was implemented in Januari 2026 using a participatory action research approach combined with descriptive qualitative methods. Activities included observation, socialization, digital content creation training, content calendar development, and continuous mentoring of local communities and tourism managers. The results show a significant improvement in community digital literacy, with participants producing more than 200 photos, 15 short videos, and 25 promotional posters distributed through Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Social media reach increased to more than 5,000 accounts within two weeks of implementation. In addition, the program positively impacted local micro-economies, as increased tourist visits boosted small vendors’ income around the tourism site. The study concludes that structured and consistent social media-based tourism promotion, supported by community empowerment, effectively enhances tourist interest and strengthens the sustainability of heritage tourism development.

Abstract

The availability of safe and sustainable blood stocks is a crucial health challenge, particularly in Serang City. The low public awareness to donate blood regularly is often the main cause of fluctuation and shortage of blood stocks at the Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD) of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). This community service aims to implement a community-based blood donation program initiated by the “Jaserco Peduli” group as a concrete effort to increase blood stock availability and build a culture of health concern in the Serang City community. The implementation method of this activity uses a participatory approach, which includes stages of socialization and education regarding the importance of blood donation, intensive coordination with the UTD of PMI Serang City, and the direct execution of blood donation actions involving community members and the general public. The results of this community service activity showed a significant increase in public enthusiasm. The program successfully gathered 25 donors, with 25 bags of blood deemed suitable for use and distributed to the UTD of PMI Serang City. In addition, there was an increase in participants' understanding of the requirements, procedures, and benefits of donating blood based on post-activity evaluation. It can be concluded that the implementation of the community-based blood donation program by Jaserco Peduli is an effective, collaborative, and sustainable service model. The synergy between the community, health institutions, and the public has proven to be an alternative solution in maintaining blood supply stability and improving public health awareness in Serang City.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the English speaking skills of elementary school children at Yayasan Panti Asuhan Penuh Pengharapan Medan. The program, titled "English for Kids," was conducted on March 15-16, 2026, and involved 12 elementary school children (grades 1-6) residing in the orphanage. The training employed interactive and enjoyable methods, including ice breaking, flashcards, storytelling, language games, role-play, and short presentations. The activity was carried out over two days with a duration of 3 hours per day. The results showed a significant improvement in the participants' English speaking abilities, marked by increased vocabulary mastery (from only a few words to 15-20 new words), the ability to construct simple self-introduction sentences, and enhanced motivation and self-confidence in communicating in English. All participants successfully performed short self-introduction presentations in front of the class at the end of the program. This activity demonstrated that interactive and enjoyable methods are effective in improving the English speaking skills of orphanage children, while also providing proper educational access for those who have been limited by financial and facility constraints. This program is expected to serve as a model for English learning assistance in other orphanages across Indonesia, particularly in anticipating the Merdeka Curriculum policy that mandates English as a compulsory subject starting in the 2027/2028 academic year.
