Abstract

The transformation of 21st century education is the main key in shaping superior human resources (HR) to realise the Golden Generation 2045. This research uses the literature review method to examine the concepts, challenges, and strategies of educational transformation in the digital era. The results show that 21st century education requires mastery of critical thinking skills, creativity, collaboration, communication, digital literacy, and character strengthening. However, the implementation of education transformation still faces challenges in the form of gaps in access, education quality, teacher readiness, and equitable distribution of technological infrastructure. To overcome these obstacles, a comprehensive strategy is needed in the form of equalising access to education, adaptive curriculum reform, improving teacher competence, and cross-sector collaboration. Adaptive, innovative and characterful education transformation is believed to be able to produce superior human resources who are ready to compete at the global level and contribute positively to the progress of the nation.

Abstract

This qualitative study examines cultural representation in the Indonesian EFL textbook "Think Globally Act Locally" for Grade 9 students. Employing a descriptive design and content analysis approach, the research applies the theoretical frameworks of Cortazzi & Jin (regarding cultural categories: Source, Target, and International Cultures) and Yuen (regarding cultural dimensions: Product, Practice, and Perspective). The findings reveal a conspicuous imbalance. Cultural representation is significantly dominated by Indonesian Source Culture, reflected in the use of local names, folklore, cuisine, and landmarks. While this aligns with the "Act Locally" directive, this dominance overshadows the inclusion of both Target and International Cultures, which are not only minimal but also presented superficially. Furthermore, the analysis of cultural dimensions indicates a heavy reliance on surface-level representations of Products, while understanding of Practices and, in particular, the underlying Perspectives or philosophical values of cultures is severely limited. The study concludes that the textbook's unbalanced approach risks constraining students' global outlook. Therefore, it recommends a more equitable and profound integration of diverse cultural categories and dimensions to effectively foster the intercultural awareness competence essential for navigating global dynamics.

Abstract

This study examines the experiences of students from Jambi Province in managing communication adjustment conflicts while studying in Jakarta, using a phenomenological approach. The phenomenon of moving to a big city like Jakarta often presents various adaptation challenges, especially in terms of communication, caused by significant cultural differences. This study aims to understand the essence of these students' conscious experiences in facing the clash of values, norms, and communication habits between the collectivist Jambi Malay culture and the individualistic urban culture of Jakarta. Using in-depth interviews with purposively selected participants, this study identified four main themes that describe their transformative journey. These themes include language failure due to differences in dialect and speech speed, difficulties navigating norms, Jakarta's directness in contrast to Jambi's culture of small talk, the development of coping strategies such as mimicry and strengthening ethnic communities, and finally the formation of a hybrid communicative identity. The results show that this communication conflict directly impacts psychological aspects such as anxiety and decreased self-esteem, but through various strategies, the students successfully transformed this conflict into a new skill and identity strength.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between values-based leadership and emotional support on employee loyalty in the context of interpersonal relationships in the workplace. Using a qualitative approach based on literature, this study reflects on how employees' interpersonal experiences contribute to the formation of emotional and sustainable loyalty. The results of the study indicate that employees interpret leadership not only as a structural function but also as a form of human relations built on values such as honesty, empathy, and appreciation. Emotional support from leaders—manifested through attention, recognition, and presence in critical situations—plays a crucial role in creating a sense of security and psychological attachment to the organization. Interpersonal experiences such as open communication, fair treatment, and trust are key factors in shaping employee loyalty that goes beyond material incentives. The main conclusion of this study is that values-based leadership and emotional support complement each other in building authentic and meaningful loyalty. This study recommends strengthening the emotional and value dimensions in modern organizational leadership practices.

Abstract

This study analyses strategies for optimising the readiness of educators and learners to utilise responsible artificial intelligence (AI) in the learning environment through a literature review, focusing on mitigating the risk of plagiarism, strengthening academic integrity, and improving data literacy capacity. Findings from two main discussions show that an integrated approach—covering strict institutional policies such as AI codes of honour, authentic task design, advanced plagiarism detection technology, and data literacy frameworks such as the AILit Framework and H-AI-H model—effectively reduces plagiarism incidents by up to 40% while building students' cognitive resilience through personalised ethical learning and interdisciplinary training. This study recommends a layered national Responsible AI Use Framework for Indonesia, including mass teacher training, standardised anti-plagiarism guidelines, and a mandatory data literacy curriculum, to realise an inclusive education ecosystem in line with the Merdeka Curriculum and the 2045 golden generation vision.

Abstract

The low tax ratio and the massive underground economy prompted the Government of Indonesia to implement the Tax Amnesty policy (Law Number 11 of 2016) as a pragmatic solution to accelerate state revenue. However, this study finds that the policy triggers a serious antinomy of norms within the Indonesian legal system. There is a diametrical conflict between the Tax Amnesty Law and the anti-money laundering regime (AML Law) as well as corruption eradication efforts (Anti-Corruption Law). The absolute confidentiality clause in Article 20 of the Tax Amnesty Law potentially hinders the principles of follow the money and asset tracing, thereby creating a risk of legalized money laundering for assets derived from crimes. Philosophically, this policy also violates Distributive Justice (Justitia Distributiva) and the principle of Equality Before the Law, as the state grants privileges in the form of penalty waivers to lawbreakers, while compliant taxpayers continue to bear the normal tax burden without equivalent incentives. This research employs a normative juridical method with statutory and conceptual approaches. The results conclude that although Tax Amnesty succeeded in increasing short-term liquidity, it fundamentally undermines legal certainty and the authority of the criminal justice system. Therefore, a Volume III Tax Amnesty is not recommended as it would exacerbate the erosion of voluntary compliance and validate moral hazard behavior.

Abstract

This study investigates the transformation of technocratic leadership in China under Xi Jinping and its implications for Indonesia’s resilience and development. Xi’s leadership, characterized by the fusion of technocratic competence, political centralization, and ideological consolidation, generates a paradox: while it enhances bureaucratic efficiency and strengthens China’s global influence, it also creates risks of economic dependency, geopolitical pressure, and erosion of democratic principles. For Indonesia, this transformation offers development opportunities through initiatives such as the Belt and Road, yet simultaneously poses challenges to maritime sovereignty and strategic autonomy. By employing a qualitative literature review of academic studies, policy documents, and relevant publications, this research contributes to the discourse on technocratic leadership by underscoring its cross-national consequences and provides practical insights for Indonesia to formulate adaptive responses through partnership diversification, institutional strengthening, and enhanced national resilience.

Abstract

This study discusses the urgency of an integrity-based strategic leadership model and Pancasila in adaptive defence human resource management towards Indonesia Emas 2045. The aim is to formulate a conceptual framework capable of responding to the complexity of global challenges characterised by an era of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. The research uses qualitative methods with a systematic literature review approach to relevant national and international literature for the period 2000–2025. The results of the study show that effective strategic leadership requires the integration of three main pillars: national values based on Pancasila, the internalisation of integrity as a moral foundation, and adaptive resilience capacity in the face of hybrid threats. The discussion emphasises that these three pillars interact with each other to form an integrative leadership model that can strengthen the character, professionalism, and competitiveness of defence human resources while ensuring moral legitimacy and national cohesion. These findings have implications for the formulation of defence policies that emphasise a balance between technical competence, national values, and strategic adaptability. Thus, this study contributes to enriching the literature on strategic leadership and offers practical guidance for the development of Indonesian defence human resources that are characterful, sustainable, and visionary.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the model of Arabic grammar instruction using Al-Jurrumiyah with Qiyasiyah and Istiqraniyah approaches in the seventh-grade female class of Nurus Sunnah Islamic Boarding School, Tegal City. The background of this study is based on the importance of Arabic grammar mastery as a foundation for understanding Arabic texts in Islamic boarding schools, as well as the persistent difficulties faced by beginner students in comprehending and applying grammatical rules contextually. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative design. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis, and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Arabic grammar instruction using Al-Jurrumiyah applies the Qiyasiyah model by presenting grammatical rules at the beginning of the lesson followed by illustrative examples, while the Istiqraniyah model is implemented by introducing language examples prior to formulating grammatical rules. Both models are applied alternately according to the characteristics of the material and students’ abilities. Supporting factors include the systematic structure of the book and the active role of teachers, while inhibiting factors involve students’ varying initial competencies and limited instructional time. The study concludes that a balanced application of Qiyasiyah and Istiqraniyah models contributes positively to improving beginner students’ understanding of Arabic grammar.

Abstract

The revitalization of the Ubud Thematic Tourism Public Market has brought physical, social, and economic changes that have affected the socio-economic conditions of souvenir traders. This study aims to describe these changes and analyze the impact of revitalization on the socio-economic conditions of souvenir traders. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis follows the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that revitalization has had a positive impact on traders’ educational conditions through the improvement of digital skills, including the use of QRIS and EDC payment systems and the adoption of basic bookkeeping practices. However, training related to foreign languages and digital marketing has not yet been provided. In terms of working conditions, revitalization has increased working hours, supported by improved efficiency, security, comfort, and work motivation. Nevertheless, social disparities have emerged between traders located on the first and second floors. Despite this, revitalization has also contributed positively by enhancing interaction and cooperation among traders. Regarding income conditions, the findings indicate that income improvements remain suboptimal or have even declined compared to the pre-COVID-19 period, mainly due to the increasing number of traders without product diversification and the less strategic access to the second floor.
