Abstract

This study investigates the transformation of technocratic leadership in China under Xi Jinping and its implications for Indonesia’s resilience and development. Xi’s leadership, characterized by the fusion of technocratic competence, political centralization, and ideological consolidation, generates a paradox: while it enhances bureaucratic efficiency and strengthens China’s global influence, it also creates risks of economic dependency, geopolitical pressure, and erosion of democratic principles. For Indonesia, this transformation offers development opportunities through initiatives such as the Belt and Road, yet simultaneously poses challenges to maritime sovereignty and strategic autonomy. By employing a qualitative literature review of academic studies, policy documents, and relevant publications, this research contributes to the discourse on technocratic leadership by underscoring its cross-national consequences and provides practical insights for Indonesia to formulate adaptive responses through partnership diversification, institutional strengthening, and enhanced national resilience.

Abstract

This study discusses the urgency of an integrity-based strategic leadership model and Pancasila in adaptive defence human resource management towards Indonesia Emas 2045. The aim is to formulate a conceptual framework capable of responding to the complexity of global challenges characterised by an era of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. The research uses qualitative methods with a systematic literature review approach to relevant national and international literature for the period 2000–2025. The results of the study show that effective strategic leadership requires the integration of three main pillars: national values based on Pancasila, the internalisation of integrity as a moral foundation, and adaptive resilience capacity in the face of hybrid threats. The discussion emphasises that these three pillars interact with each other to form an integrative leadership model that can strengthen the character, professionalism, and competitiveness of defence human resources while ensuring moral legitimacy and national cohesion. These findings have implications for the formulation of defence policies that emphasise a balance between technical competence, national values, and strategic adaptability. Thus, this study contributes to enriching the literature on strategic leadership and offers practical guidance for the development of Indonesian defence human resources that are characterful, sustainable, and visionary.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the model of Arabic grammar instruction using Al-Jurrumiyah with Qiyasiyah and Istiqraniyah approaches in the seventh-grade female class of Nurus Sunnah Islamic Boarding School, Tegal City. The background of this study is based on the importance of Arabic grammar mastery as a foundation for understanding Arabic texts in Islamic boarding schools, as well as the persistent difficulties faced by beginner students in comprehending and applying grammatical rules contextually. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative design. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis, and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Arabic grammar instruction using Al-Jurrumiyah applies the Qiyasiyah model by presenting grammatical rules at the beginning of the lesson followed by illustrative examples, while the Istiqraniyah model is implemented by introducing language examples prior to formulating grammatical rules. Both models are applied alternately according to the characteristics of the material and students’ abilities. Supporting factors include the systematic structure of the book and the active role of teachers, while inhibiting factors involve students’ varying initial competencies and limited instructional time. The study concludes that a balanced application of Qiyasiyah and Istiqraniyah models contributes positively to improving beginner students’ understanding of Arabic grammar.

Abstract

The revitalization of the Ubud Thematic Tourism Public Market has brought physical, social, and economic changes that have affected the socio-economic conditions of souvenir traders. This study aims to describe these changes and analyze the impact of revitalization on the socio-economic conditions of souvenir traders. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis follows the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that revitalization has had a positive impact on traders’ educational conditions through the improvement of digital skills, including the use of QRIS and EDC payment systems and the adoption of basic bookkeeping practices. However, training related to foreign languages and digital marketing has not yet been provided. In terms of working conditions, revitalization has increased working hours, supported by improved efficiency, security, comfort, and work motivation. Nevertheless, social disparities have emerged between traders located on the first and second floors. Despite this, revitalization has also contributed positively by enhancing interaction and cooperation among traders. Regarding income conditions, the findings indicate that income improvements remain suboptimal or have even declined compared to the pre-COVID-19 period, mainly due to the increasing number of traders without product diversification and the less strategic access to the second floor.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought about major changes to the education system, including at the primary school level, which forms the foundation for shaping the character and competencies of students. This study aims to analyse the implementation of education management in improving the quality and effectiveness of learning in primary schools in the digital era. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach through the analysis of various scientific sources such as journals, books, and education policies. The results of the study show that the implementation of effective educational management in the digital era must include the functions of planning, organising, implementing, and supervising, integrated with the use of information and communication technology. The headteacher plays an important role as a transformational leader in guiding teachers to be able to innovate and develop digital-based learning. Strengthening adaptive, participatory, and data-based school management has been proven to improve the efficiency of the teaching and learning process, student engagement, and the quality of learning outcomes. Thus, the digitisation of educational management is not only a modernisation strategy but also an important instrument in realising high-quality, effective, and competitive basic education amid dynamic global changes.

Abstract

Pragmatism as a philosophy of education emphasizes direct experience, practical action, and problem-solving as the core of the learning process. This paradigm finds its relevance in the learning by doing approach, which positions learners as active participants in education. This article aims to examine pragmatism as a learning paradigm and to analyze the response of Christian Religious Education to the learning by doing approach within the context of formal education. This study employs a literature review method by analyzing educational philosophy literature, pragmatist theories, as well as theological and pedagogical sources related to Christian Religious Education. The findings indicate that the learning by doing approach aligns with pragmatic principles by emphasizing active learner engagement, experiential reflection, and the application of values in real-life contexts. From the perspective of Christian Religious Education, this paradigm is relevant to the formation of a living and contextual faith, where learners not only understand Christian teachings cognitively but also embody them through concrete actions. Therefore, pragmatism can serve as a constructive learning paradigm for Christian Religious Education, provided that it remains grounded in Christian theological values and oriented toward holistic Christian character formation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of appropriate learning strategies for lower-grade students who possess specific cognitive and emotional developmental characteristics, such as short attention spans and a tendency to get bored easily. The purpose of this study is to describe in depth the strategies used by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers to increase the learning interest of third-grade students at SD Negeri Danaraja 02, Tegal. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques including observation, structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, using triangulation techniques to ensure data validity. The results show that students' interest in learning is heavily influenced by the teacher's delivery method. Varied learning strategies, such as practice-based learning (wudu and prayer), the use of songs, visual media, and contextual approaches, proved effective in increasing student engagement and understanding compared to pure lecture methods. Although efforts have been made to implement the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, teachers still face challenges due to the diverse abilities of students. The conclusion of this study is that the use of active, creative, and fun learning strategies tailored to the concrete operational stage of children can significantly increase students' interest in PAI subjects. It is suggested that PAI teachers continue to develop adaptive pedagogical methods to accommodate student diversity and optimize learning outcomes.

Abstract

Parenting is the primary foundation for developing character, personality, and noble morals from an early age. From an Islamic perspective, the exemplary life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a role model serves as an ideal reference for holistic parenting practices that combine spiritual, emotional, moral, and social dimensions. This article aims to examine the parenting principles applied in the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and reflect them in the context of contemporary Muslim parenting. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method, analyzing primary sources (the Qur'an and authentic hadith) and recent secondary literature. The results of the study indicate that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) implemented a parenting style full of compassion (rahmah), justice ('adl), gentleness, direct role modeling, and gradual and educative moral education. This approach is effective in preventing the formation of a negative inner child and shaping a generation with noble morals, empathy, and a Godly heart. The implementation of the Prophet's exemplary values in modern parenting is not only relevant but also provides a humanistic and spiritual solution to address the challenges of parenting in the era of globalization.
