Abstract

The phenomenon of online game addiction among students at private universities in Bekasi is now a real challenge that must be addressed immediately. Many students admit to having difficulty managing their gaming time, even to the point of sacrificing their coursework and class attendance. This study aims to describe online game addiction among students at the STIAMI Institute, Bekasi campus, who are members of an online game community. This study aims to test the validity and reliability of an online game addiction measurement tool among students at the STIAMI Institute, Bekasi campus, who are members of an online game community. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method where primary data is collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 113 respondents, all of whom are online game addicts who are members of a community called Warung Babeh.

Abstract

The development of deepfake technology powered by artificial intelligence has brought significant changes to the digital communication landscape and the perception of truth. Deepfakes enable the creation of highly realistic, yet entirely fake, visual and audio content, blurring the line between fact and fabrication. This study uses a literature review method to analyze the ethical and social implications of the deepfake phenomenon, particularly regarding the future of truth. The results show that deepfakes pose serious challenges in the form of privacy violations, the spread of disinformation, a decline in public trust, and the potential for social polarization and threats to democracy. On the other hand, this technology also offers innovative opportunities in the fields of entertainment, education, and health if used responsibly. Therefore, adaptive regulations, the development of detection technologies, and increased digital literacy are needed to minimize the risks and maximize the benefits of deepfakes for society.

Abstract

The population growth in Semarang City over the years has directly contributed to the increasing volume of waste, particularly plastic waste, which is non-biodegradable and harmful to the environment. Between 2020 and 2024, data indicates a significant rise in plastic waste generation alongside more frequent flooding, particularly in densely populated areas and along riverbanks. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of plastic waste management policies in Semarang City by applying William N. Dunn’s (2018) policy evaluation framework, which includes five dimensions: effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equity, and responsiveness. A qualitative approach was used, employing a literature review, policy document analysis, and spatial data visualization (heatmaps) to identify correlations between flood-prone areas and plastic waste accumulation. The findings reveal that despite the issuance of several local regulations on plastic reduction and waste management, implementation faces persistent challenges, such as low public participation, inadequate waste transportation infrastructure, and weak enforcement on businesses and industries. Evaluation through Dunn’s five dimensions indicates that the policy has not yet achieved optimal effectiveness and efficiency, as its direct impact on reducing plastic waste and mitigating flood risks remains limited. This research recommends renewing more adaptive policies, strengthening institutional capacity, and integrating spatial data-based waste management systems as strategic steps for sustainable improvement.

Abstract

The issue of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning based on the yellow book at MTs. Alwashliyah Ismailiyah Medan is influenced by students who are not madrasa graduates, causing difficulties and unfamiliarity in understanding the yellow book. Additionally, students' lack of interest in studying the yellow book also impacts the success of the learning process. This study aims to examine the role of teachers in addressing these challenges so that the learning process can run effectively. The research uses a qualitative method with a location at MTs. Alwashliyah Ismailiyah Medan. Primary data sources include three Islamic Religious Education teachers based on the yellow book and the head of the curriculum department, while secondary data is gathered from the principal and students. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that teachers play a significant role in overcoming these issues through various approaches, such as building cooperation with homeroom teachers and other teachers to integrate other subjects with the yellow book. This helps students who do not have a madrasa background to understand and identify Arabic sentences, while also enhancing the abilities of students with a madrasa background in understanding the concepts of Islamic education using the yellow book as teaching material.

Abstract

This study examines the role and challenges faced by Islamic religious education in Tapanuli Tengah. The objectives of this research are to understand the state of Islamic religious education in the region and to analyze its role and the challenges it encounters. The study employs a qualitative research method with a case study approach, collecting data through interviews conducted in schools or madrasas that represent the geographical conditions of the area. The research focuses on five senior high school-level institutions, Several key findings were identified. In Tapanuli Tengah, some schools have implemented programs to support the development of Islamic religious education, such as monthly religious study sessions (pengajian), communal religious obligations (fardhu kifayah), and extracurricular activities through the Islamic Student Organization (ROHIS) in Madrasah Aliyah. Additionally, some of the observed schools have incorporated technology into their teaching processes to enhance innovation and student engagement, However, challenges remain. Some students still exhibit low interest in Islamic religious education, attributed to rapid technological advancements and the widespread use of gadgets, which divert their attention away from classroom learning. This has led to a paradigm shift from doctrinal teaching methods to contextual, technology-based learning approaches rooted in local wisdom. Strengthening Islamic religious education requires synergy among schools/madrasas, families, and communities to ensure students remain guided and shielded from the negative impacts of social media.

Abstract

The implementation of teacher development at MTsN 4 Aceh Barat Daya has not been implemented optimally so that teacher professionalism cannot be fully achieved. The aim of this research is to determine the managerial abilities of madrasah heads on teacher professionalism and the influence of the managerial abilities of madrasah heads on teacher professionalism at MTsN 4 Aceh Barat Daya. This type of quantitative research with a sample of 32 people. Data collection techniques used were interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The research results show; 1) The managerial ability of the madrasa head regarding teacher professionalism at MTsN 4 Aceh Barat Daya can be categorized as still not good. As many as 24 people out of 32 respondents ranging in percentage from 61-80% thought that the managerial abilities of madrasa heads in the category were still "Less Optimal", namely 75%. 2) The influence of the madrasa head's managerial ability on the professionalism of teachers at MTsN 4 Aceh Barat Daya shows that teacher performance is in the good category although not optimal. From the descriptive results, it can be seen that the teacher's professionalism score consisting of planning learning, implementing learning and evaluating learning is in the "Good" category but cannot be said to be optimal. Which ranges from 61-80%, namely 56.25%, which means there is a positive influence between the ability of the madrasa head and the professionalism of teachers at MTsN 4 Aceh Barat Daya.

Abstract

This study aims to develop ICT (Information and Communication Technology)-based learning media for the Tahsin Al-Qur'an subject at Madrasah Aliyah Annur Prima Medan. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with the Hannafin and Peck development model which includes three stages, namely design, needs analysis, development and implementation. The results of the study indicate that the developed learning media are feasible in terms of content, appearance, and ease of use. The results of the study indicate that this media is relevant to learning needs and makes it easier for students to understand the tahsin al-Qur'an material. These findings indicate that ICT-based learning media can be an innovative solution in improving the quality of Tahsin learning in Madrasas

Abstract

Bullying is a form of verbal and physical violence that continues to occur in educational environments, including Islamic boarding schools. This phenomenon contradicts the values of Islam and morality that should be instilled through student character development. This study aims to analyze the influence of implementing Islamic and Muhammadiyah values on bullying cases among students at the Muhammadiyah Modern Islamic Boarding School of Kwala Madu, Langkat. A quantitative approach was used, employing a survey method with questionnaires distributed to 287 respondents. Data analysis involved tests of validity, reliability, normality, linearity, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression using statistical software. The results showed that all instrument items were valid and reliable, and the relationship between variables was linear. A strong and significant negative correlation was found between the implementation of Islamic and Muhammadiyah values and bullying behavior. The higher the internalization of these values, the lower the tendency for bullying among students. This study concludes that Islamic and Muhammadiyah values play a crucial role in shaping student character and serve as a strategic factor in preventing bullying in boarding schools effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of the Pancasila-based education system and curriculum in preparing Indonesia's Golden Generation to be globally competitive. This study uses a literature review method to identify the factors that support and hinder the implementation of the Pancasila-based curriculum, as well as its impact on the character building and global competencies of students. The results of the analysis indicate that the Merdeka curriculum policy, tripartite collaboration, technology utilisation, teacher training, and resource availability are the main factors that strengthen the effectiveness of the Pancasila-based education system. However, disparities in implementation between regions, limited teacher competencies, low student participation, and the challenges of digitalisation and globalisation remain obstacles that need to be overcome. This study recommends the need for synergy among all stakeholders, enhanced teacher training, and strengthened school-family-community collaboration to optimise the effectiveness of the Pancasila-based education system in order to achieve the Golden Generation 2045 with global competitiveness and strong character.

Abstract

This study discusses the principal's strategy in developing the Tahfizhul Qur'an program at SMP Muhammadiyah 57 Medan. This type of investigation uses a qualitative method with a narrative type. Data collection techniques are through interview programs, observations and documents. The findings of this research are (1) planning strategy, namely conducting environmental analysis and formulating the vision-mission and objectives of the Tahfizhul Qur'an program. (2) Implementation strategy, namely: finding basic student problems in memorizing, grouping student memorization abilities, recruiting ideal Tahfizhul Qur'an teachers and running programs that are relevant to the Tahfizhul Qur'an program. (3) Implementation of evaluation, namely: conducting munaqasah exams and evaluating the performance of Tahfizhul Qur'an teachers. (4) Supporting and inhibiting factors for the tahfzihul Qur'an program, namely: supporters, namely capable classes, ideal teachers, suitability of learning methods and forms of evaluation that are carried out well. Inhibitors are lack of motivation, difficulty in memorizing and challenges in using android and (5) Efforts to reduce factors inhibiting the Tahfizhul Qur'an program at SMP Muhammadiyah 57 Medan, namely: providing routine motivation, conducting Al-Qur'an memorization training and providing rewards.
