Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, specifically ChatGPT, on the academic potential of students in the Psychology Study Program at Raden Rahmat Islamic University, Malang. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach by applying basic linear regression analysis. Using the Slovin algorithm, a sample of 197 respondents was selected from 387 students who were part of the study population. Data were obtained using a Likert scale questionnaire and evaluated using validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests using SPSS. The study findings showed that the research instrument was declared valid and reliable with a Cronbach's Alpha value above 0.8. The data also met the requirements for normality, linearity, and homogeneity. The results of the regression test produced the equation Y = 12.384 + 0.652X with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.433. This means that the use of ChatGPT has a positive and significant impact on students' academic potential, contributing 43.3%, while the remainder is due to other factors outside the study. This finding suggests that the more frequently students use ChatGPT appropriately, the greater their academic potential. ChatGPT helps students understand the material, think critically, and write in a more structured manner. However, its use requires responsibility to avoid diminishing originality and independent thinking skills.

Abstract

The phenomenon of early marriage still occurs in society despite the existence of marital laws setting the minimum marrying age at 19. In East Kalimantan, for example, 219 women were married early. This study was conducted to investigate the correlation between social support and subjective well-being among women who entered into early marriages, using a purposive sampling method. The object of this research were 100 women who got married before 19 years old, have been married for under five years, and live in East Kalimantan. The data collection methods used were subjective well-being and social support scales. Data analysis was performed using Pearson’s product-moment correlation. The research results indicate a correlation among social support and and subjective well-being in women who married early. The two variables had a positive corellation and the strength of the corellation was in the very strong category. The findings of this study are expected to serve as recommendations for the development of counselling or support programmes for women who married early, as well as efforts to prevent early marriage.

Abstract

For children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, speech delays are not the only communication issue. Often, nonverbal communication—which includes body language, eye contact, facial expressions, and body movements—poses challenges. Joint attention is crucial for a child’s development, whether the child is neurotypical or has an autism spectrum disorder, particularly in the development of language and social communication. This study employs a qualitative method in the form of a literature review. Previous research has found that the lower the level of joint attention demonstrated by children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, the more severe their social and communication difficulties become. Children with autism spectrum disorder typically experience difficulties with joint attention. Joint attention is the skill of sharing focus or attention on an object or event with another person. Behaviors such as pointing, following another person’s gaze or vocalizations, and directing one’s gaze toward a specific object or event are among the early social-communicative behaviors included in this skill. Joint attention is crucial for children’s language, communication, and cognitive development

Abstract

The performance of hospital nurses is greatly influenced by the quality of the work environment. Quality of Nursing Work Life (QNWL) reflects the level of comfort, well-being, and support that nurses experience in the workplace. In addition, job satisfaction plays a crucial role in motivating nurses to perform at their best. This study examines the relationship between QNWL job satisfaction, and nurse performance. QNWL refers to the level of comfort, well-being, and support experienced by nurses in their work environment. Meanwhile, job satisfaction is a key factor that drives nurses to perform their work optimally. This study employed a quantitative correlational approach, involving 95 nurses from X Hospital in Surakarta, selected through purposive sampling. Nurses’ performance, job satisfaction, and QNWL were measured using standardized scales and analyzed via multiple linear regression. The results revealed a significant relationship between QNWL and job satisfaction with nurses’ performance (R = 0.584, F = 23.847, p = 0.000). Specifically, QNWL had a positive correlation with nursing performance (r = 0.517, p = 0.000), and job satisfaction also had a positive correlation with nursing performance (r = 0.553, p = 0.000). These results indicate that QNWL and job satisfaction significantly contribute to improved nursing performance.

Abstract

High work demands among public health center employees and the scarcity of research on the Big Five Personality Traits and burnout within Indonesian primary healthcare motivated this study. The objective was to examine the relationship between the Big Five Personality Traits and burnout among employees at Telaga Public Health Center, Gorontalo Regency. A quantitative correlational design was utilized. The research population included 83 employees selected through total sampling, with a final sample of 62 respondents. Data collection employed the Big Five Inventory (BFI) and the Maslach-Trisni Burnout Inventory (M-TBI), and analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test in Jamovi. Results indicated a significant negative relationship between conscientiousness and burnout (r = - 0.314; p = 0.013), with weak correlation strength. A significant positive relationship observed between neuroticism and burnout (r = 0.37; p = 0.003) with weak-to-moderate correlation. Extraversion, agreeableness, openness to experience did not demonstrate significant relationships with bumout (p > 0.05). These findings suggest that personality characteristics influence employee burnout levels and may inform strategies to prevent and manage burnout in healthcare settings. The study may serve as a reference for developing national-level mental health initiatives for public health center employees. Keywords: Big Five Personality Traits, burnout, public health center employees

Abstract

Parenting patterns are thought to have a relationship with students' psychological well-being. One of them is helicopter parenting. This research was conducted to determine the relationship between helicopter parenting and psychological well-being in Chinese Indonesian students. This research uses quantitative methods with a correlational design. A total of 117 active Chinese Indonesian undergraduate students from higher education institutions in Indonesia were the subjects of this research through accidental sampling. The research results show that there is a significant negative relationship between helicopter parenting and all dimensions of psychological well-being, such as autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relations with others, purpose in life, and self-acceptance. The stronger the implementation of helicopter parenting applied to Chinese Indonesian students, the lower their psychological well-being. Thus, it is recommended that Chinese Indonesian parents implement more positive parenting patterns so that they can improve students' psychological well-being.

Abstract

Academic buoyancy refers to students’ ability to cope with, overcome, and recover from everyday academic challenges. This capability is particularly important for junior high school students who are experiencing developmental transitions accompanied by increasing academic demands. The present study aimed to examine differences in academic buoyancy based on temperament personality types among students in private Islamic junior high schools in Malang City. This study employed a quantitative approach with a comparative research design. Participants consisted of 103 seventh- and eighth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an Academic Buoyancy Scale developed from Martin’s theory and a temperament personality scale based on the Hippocrates-Galenus typology developed by Florence Littauer. Data were analyzed using One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The findings revealed significant differences in academic buoyancy across temperament personality types. Students with a Choleric temperament demonstrated higher academic buoyancy than those with a Melancholic temperament. These findings indicate that temperament characteristics play an important role in students’ ability to manage everyday academic challenges. Therefore, educational and counseling services should consider students’ temperament characteristics when designing interventions to enhance academic buoyancy.
