Abstract

The results of the Study on the Nutritional Status of Indonesian Toddlers (SSGBI) in 2019 showed the prevalence rate of stunting under five in 2013 was 37.2%, decreased by 6.4% in 2018 which was 30.8% and continued to decline by 3.1% in 2019, namely 27.67%. Another factor that is interrelated with this case is the knowledge of the mother and family regarding stunting, both in terms of knowledge of the meaning, causes, impacts, prevention and prevention of stunting itself. This study uses a descriptive design to see a description of the knowledge of mothers who have toddlers about stunting. The population of this research is mothers who have toddlers aged 12-59 months in Pekan Tanjung Morawa Village with a sample size of 66 people (total sampling). The results of the study found that the majority of respondents had less knowledge about stunting (68%) in Pekan Tanjung Morawa Village. It is expected that respondents can increase mother's knowledge about stunting, respondents can further increase their knowledge of stunting through health worker facilities, or existing books so that they can prevent stunting cases in infants and toddlers.

Abstract

Preeclampsia were still a threatening problem in pregnancy, especially in developing countries. In Indonesia, preeclampsia were a high cause of maternal mortality in addition to bleeding and infection. Preeclampsia could cause problems for both the fetus and the mother. The conditions of preeclampsia and eclampsia would adversely affect the health of the fetus due to decreased uteroplacental perfusion, hypovolemia, vasospasm, and damage to endothelial cells of the placental vessels. The exact cause of preeclampsia were not known. There are various risk factors, including parity factors and a history of hypertension. This type of research was a descriptive study with a case control design and using univariate and bivariate data analysis techniques with chi-square test where the population were inpartu mothers in the VK Room of Medika Stannia Hospital, Bangka Regency. Sampling using accidental sampling technique with a significant level of 95% (p 0.05). The results of this study indicate that there was a relationship between parity (p value 0.009) and history of hypertension (p value 0.023) to the incidence of severe preeclampsia. Based on the results of the study, it is hoped that the hospital will be able to control the risk of severe preeclampsia in the mother during pregnancy, especially mothers with primigravida parity and have a history of hypertension.

Abstract

Post-partum mothers often experience changes both physiologically and psychologically, one of which is a change in the body's reaction due to uterine contractions. The intensity of uterine contractions increases after delivery which causes pain and makes the mother uncomfortable. Many experienced pain disorders during the puerperium even in uncomplicated normal delivery. This causes discomfort in the mother, especially in the abdominal area due to uterine contractions called afterpains. This massage therapy can minimize and even suppress pain with minimal side effects or even no side effects, one of which is using effleurage massage techniques. This study aimed to determine the effect of effleurage massage technique on afterpains pain in multiparous postpartum mothers. This research is a quasi experiment or quasi-experiment. The design of this study used a one group pre-test-post-test design. The results showed that the pain intensity in postpartum mothers before the effleurage massage technique experienced moderate pain, namely 73.3%, and mild pain, namely 26.7%, after effleurage massage 83.3% experienced mild pain and did not experience pain, namely 16 7%. The results of this study concluded that the effleurage massage technique can be used as a non-pharmacological therapy that can overcome the afterpains pain in postpartum mothers, thereby reducing the pain felt by the mother and will make the mother feel comfortable.
