Abstract

In the context of Empat Balai Kuok village, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has diverse product types with better development potential. However, the survey results indicate that several MSMEs still face challenges in understanding and building brand identity (branding) for their products. The Kukerta Integration group work program aims to increase the empowerment of local MSMEs by focusing on improving product quality, which will enable wider marketing expansion. The implementation of the work program by the Kukerta Integration Group has involved structured task allocation. One of the roles carried out is the event coordinator for the socialization of marketing strategies and administrative aspects of business licensing. Apart from that, this role also involves conveying knowledge about the assistance resources provided by the government to support the development of MSMEs. The KKN team has also carried out an in-depth analysis of the level of knowledge of the Empat Balai village community regarding marketing, where significant deficiencies were found, such as the absence of logos, labels with expiration date information, and product composition. These aspects should be attractive factors for potential buyers

Abstract

Community service in project-based learning model training aims to introduce learning models that can be applied in elementary schools. The project-based learning model can be applied to all subjects in elementary schools. In this way, learning activities become higher quality, more interesting for students, less boring, meaningful, and innovative. The service participants consisted of the principal, all teachers, and all students carrying out field learning practices at SD N 3 Karanganom Klaten. The method used in this training is participatory action research (PAR), which consists of demonstration activities, mentoring, and discussions. Five materials are provided in this training, namely understanding, objectives, syntax, and application in learning and assessment systems. The results of this service activity show the training participants' success in mastering the five pieces of material. This can be seen from the high enthusiasm in every stage of the training implementation.

Abstract

This community service program provided training for elementary school teachers at SDN 2 Prambanan, Klaten, to develop student worksheets (Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik/LKPD) aligned with the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach within the Merdeka Curriculum. The training aimed to strengthen teachers’ knowledge and skills in designing CRT-based LKPD. Nineteen teachers participated. The program employed Participatory Action Research (PAR) consisting of three stages: (1) demonstration of CRT-oriented LKPD design, (2) guided practice and mentoring, and (3) discussion and reflection. Teachers produced LKPD drafts in small groups and presented their work for peer and facilitator feedback. Product quality was assessed using an LKPD rubric. The results indicate that teachers were able to apply CRT principles in worksheet development, with an average score of 84.4%, categorized as very good. Participants also reported high engagement and expressed confidence to integrate the CRT approach in classroom learning. Overall, the training strengthened teachers’ competence in designing contextual and culturally responsive learning materials for elementary education.

Abstract

Teachers’ creativity in developing contextual and low-cost learning media can be enhanced through the use of readily available recycled materials such as fabric scraps (patchwork). This community service program aimed to strengthen elementary school teachers’ creativity in Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, by training them to design and produce patchwork-based learning media aligned with the Arts, Culture, and Crafts (SBdP) curriculum. The program was implemented in four stages: needs assessment, planning and instrument development, training implementation, and outcome analysis. Twenty teachers from two elementary schools participated in a short lecture, guided discussion on classroom integration, demonstrations, and hands-on group practice. Knowledge gains were measured through a pre-test and post-test, while creativity was assessed using an observation rubric and product documentation. Descriptive analysis showed improved mastery of the material (from 4.00% to 86.00%) and increased variation in the learning media produced, indicating stronger skills in selecting materials, processing patchwork, and designing safe, functional, and attractive media with clearer plans for classroom implementation.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the digital literacy of PKBM Bina Kreasi learners by training them to design promotional posters and short advertisements using Canva. The training involved 25 participants and employed a hands-on approach consisting of feature demonstrations, guided practice, and group-based project assignments. Participants learned to select templates, apply basic principles of layout, typography, and color, and export designs for social media promotion, including the marketing of local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Evaluation was conducted through observation of participants’ products and end-of-session feedback. The results indicate that participants improved their understanding of basic graphic design concepts and their ability to produce visually coherent posters and short promotional videos using Canva. Overall, the activity strengthened participants’ digital literacy and is expected to support broader adoption of digital tools for everyday communication and community-based promotion. PKBM Bina Kreasi, as a non-formal education provider, can also use the outputs to support institutional outreach and recruitment.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen the pedagogical capacity of elementary-school teachers in the Rakit Kulim teacher cluster, Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province, through an integrated training program on Deep Learning (Pembelajaran Mendalam), growth mindset, and teacher spirituality to foster a favorable classroom climate. Implemented on 22–23 August 2025 with 40 participants, the program combined short concept briefings, collaborative lesson-design clinics, microteaching, and reflective coaching. Participants developed lesson designs that are mindful, meaningful, and joyful, grounded in holistic development (mind–heart–sense–body) and a staged learning sequence (understanding, applying, and reflecting). Growth mindset practices were incorporated to encourage iterative improvement, while spirituality-informed culture building emphasized respectful language, empathy, and consistent classroom agreements. Key outputs included contextual topic maps, draft lesson designs aligned with the Deep Learning framework, an assessment portfolio (assessment as learning, for learning, and of learning), and a cluster-level follow-up plan for peer mentoring. Overall, the integrated approach suggests that teachers are better prepared to implement deeper, more humanizing learning in elementary classrooms.

Abstract

Women's economic empowerment is essential for strengthening household welfare, particularly among homemakers with limited access to productive skills. This community-engagement program aimed to improve women's competence in Pekon Tegalsari in producing, packaging, and labeling hygienic dishwashing liquid, as well as in calculating basic production costs. Participatory Action Research (PAR) positioned 13 participants as active partners in theoretical instruction, demonstration, hands-on production, packaging, labeling, and evaluation. Pre-test results showed that 12 participants (92.31%) scored at least 8 of 10, whereas only eight (61.54%) had prior practical experience. After training, all participants (100%) answered every post-test item correctly and produced dishwashing liquid according to the prescribed procedure. The integration of instruction, demonstration, and direct practice strengthened technical competence, increased awareness of the product's economic potential, and reinforced participants' confidence in applying the skills independently. The program, therefore, provided an initial foundation for household-based microenterprise development by improving product presentation and basic cost management.

Abstract

Rural adolescents often face limited access to guidance and counseling services, particularly in career planning and the development of adaptive behaviors, amid rapid societal and labor market changes. This article presents a community-based counseling intervention model integrating career guidance, behavior modification, and experiential learning to empower rural youth. The model is based on the implementation of the Community Counseling and Outbound Service Program (KOMANDO) 2025 conducted by Universitas Riau in Teluk Kenidai Village, Indonesia. The program involved students from SMP Satu Atap Teluk Kenidai and spanned four stages: community needs assessment, career exploration, behavior modification through educational games, and reflection and evaluation. Data were collected through participatory observation, participant feedback, and reflective discussions without employing an experimental design or standardized psychometric measures. Observational findings indicated improved self-awareness, increased interest in career exploration, and active participation in collaborative learning activities that promoted teamwork and responsibility. Participants responded positively to the play-based experiential learning approach, suggesting its potential to foster adaptive behaviors, although no causal conclusions can be drawn. This article proposes the Community-Based Career Counseling Empowerment (CBCCE) Model, which integrates community context, needs assessment, career guidance, behavior modification, and experiential learning into a sustainable framework for empowering rural youth. The model offers practical implications for expanding counseling services through collaboration among schools, universities, and local governments.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted to introduce and socialize the use of thematic modules in English learning for second-grade students at SD IT Tahfidzul Quran Pekanbaru. The initiative was motivated by challenges in English instruction at Islamic-based elementary schools, where teaching methods remain conventional and teacher-centered, and where there is a lack of contextual materials aligned with students' daily routines and religious values. The thematic module was designed to integrate English vocabulary and structures with familiar themes such as Daily Routines, School Activities, and Family Life, while embedding Islamic values. The program involved three stages: socialization with teachers, classroom simulation with students, and reflective discussion. Results showed that teachers welcomed the thematic approach as more relevant and communicative, while students demonstrated enthusiasm and improved confidence in using English through interactive activities such as role play and storytelling. The program successfully provided alternative teaching media that are contextual, enjoyable, and aligned with the school's vision. It also strengthened collaboration between the university and partner schools in developing innovative English learning practices.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the world of education, including in the learning assessment process. Teachers, as the primary implementers of learning, are required to adapt to these developments to ensure more effective, efficient, and tailored assessments to students' needs. This article discusses community service activities focused on training in the use of digital technology to optimize assessment in Indonesian language learning. This activity was motivated by teachers' limited understanding and skills in utilizing digital technology to support the assessment process. Through systematically designed training, teachers were provided with an understanding of the importance of digital assessment, implementation strategies, and its benefits in improving the quality of learning. The results of this activity indicate that this training positively increased teachers' insight and readiness to integrate digital technology into learning assessments. Therefore, the use of digital technology in Indonesian-language learning assessments is a strategic step toward more adaptive, modern, and meaningful learning.
