Abstract

The green economy represents a shift from a resource-exploitation approach toward a resource-conservation paradigm that balances economic growth with environmental sustainability. Rather than focusing solely on profit and production expansion, this concept emphasizes the need to consider the long-term impacts of economic activities on natural resources and human well-being. Its key principles include efficient resource and energy use, poverty reduction, social equity, renewable energy adoption, low-carbon development, and sustainable consumption and production patterns. The green economy also promotes improved environmental data management and greater awareness of ecological limits. Ultimately, it seeks to enhance quality of life while ensuring the fair distribution of prosperity and the protection of resources for future generations. As a PKM partner operating in the sugar industry, PT CP is closely connected to natural resource utilization and environmental impacts. This program successfully increased the company’s ecological awareness and strengthened its commitment to integrating sustainability into business operations and decision-making processes.

Abstract

The Wadaslintang Dam is a strategic infrastructure in Wonosobo and Kebumen Regencies, Central Java, carrying a high downstream hazard risk if a structural failure occurs. This condition demands enhanced community preparedness through Emergency Action Plan socializations and stronger active participation in area management. This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and involvement of residents around the dam and catchment area to support sustainable management. Implementation methods included surveys, observations, socializations, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. Face-to-face sessions provided in-depth understanding of emergency procedures and the importance of disaster risk reduction. Program effectiveness was measured using pre-test and post-test instruments. Evaluation results recorded a significant surge in understanding, shown by an average score increase from 63.33 to 85.33. This proves face-to-face methods effectively foster two-way communication and interactive discussions, successfully strengthening community capacity to respond to emergencies while preserving the environment.

Abstract

Low motivation and engagement among beginner-level santri in learning English in non-formal educational settings have become challenges in mastering English vocabulary. This community service program aimed to improve the vocabulary size of santri at Rumah Qur’an Bani Khamta through digital technology-based English learning using YouTube, Canva, and Kahoot. The implementation method used direct practice targeting early-age santri. The activities were carried out through the introduction of basic vocabulary materials, the use of educational videos, Canva-based worksheets, and Kahoot interactive quizzes. Evaluation was conducted through observation of the students’ participation, enthusiasm, and responses during the learning process. The results showed that the use of digital media and gamification was able to increase the santri’s enthusiasm, active participation, and self-confidence in using English. Abstract

The development of digital technology requires teachers to be competent in developing interactive, innovative learning media that meet the needs of 21st-century learning. However, teachers' use of digital technology still faces various obstacles, particularly in creating engaging learning media. This community service activity aims to improve teachers' competency in developing interactive learning media based on Canva. The activity was carried out in Tanjung Qencono Village and involved 15 teachers from the educators community. The methods used included participatory training and direct mentoring through the stages of needs analysis, preparation, training, mentoring, and evaluation. Evaluation was conducted using a participant response questionnaire. The results of the activity showed that most participants understood the concept of interactive learning media and were able to operate Canva's features independently. Furthermore, teachers' media design skills and creativity also improved, accompanied by a very high level of participant satisfaction. Thus, this mentoring activity was effective in improving teachers' digital competency and encouraging the development of more creative, interactive, and relevant learning media to meet learning needs.

Abstract

Seblak Prasmanan Express MSME in Wiro Village, Bayat, still relies on cash transactions and does not yet have a digital identity, resulting in low business visibility, limited market access, and reduced competitiveness compared to MSMEs that have adopted digital platforms. This community service activity aims to build the MSME's digital footprint through the optimization of QRIS and Google Business Profile to enhance business visibility, market access, and competitiveness. The method employed is based on a community empowerment approach, including community education, training, science and technology diffusion, mediation, and advocacy, implemented gradually and sustainably. The results indicate that the activation of QRIS through the DANA application facilitates cashless transactions, while the creation of a Google Business Profile makes the business easier to find through Google Search and Google Maps. The assistance program also includes strengthening social media content, utilizing WhatsApp Business, and establishing consistent operating hours. Therefore, this digital assistance has proven effective in strengthening the MSME's digital identity, expanding market reach, and enhancing its competitiveness sustainably in the digital economy era.

Abstract

Kondangmerak Beach, Malang Regency, is a tourism and culinary destination, yet it suffers from accumulating young coconut shells that are littered or openly burned, degrading cleanliness and generating pollution and health risks. This community engagement program aimed to establish a circular-economy system that converts coconut-shell waste into charcoal as an alternative fuel for fishery-product processing with the Mina Jaya Mandiri group. We applied a problem–solution-fit approach combining social and technological interventions: hands-on tourism-awareness socialization and workshops, a stainless cart as a designated drop point, and a drum-based dryer with stainless racks powered by used oil. Performance was tracked using operational indicators: kilograms processed, drying time, charcoal substitution rate, and user feedback. Results show improved sorting compliance and a clearer collect–dry–store–use workflow, shorter drying lead time, more stable combustion readiness, reduced shell piles, and better fuel cost efficiency. The program shows appropriate technology and education can strengthen locally sustainable coastal livelihoods.

Knowledge of drug classifications and expiration dates is an essential component of safe medication use. However, awareness of these topics among school-age students still needs to be improved. This community service activity was conducted to educate students about drug logos and the importance of checking expiration dates before using medicines. The program was carried out through interactive educational sessions, discussions, and the distribution of leaflets as supporting educational materials. Participants’ knowledge was assessed using pre- and post-tests. The results demonstrated an improvement in students’ understanding after participating in the educational program. In addition, students actively engaged in the sessions and were able to answer questions related to the materials presented. The activity had a positive impact on students’ knowledge of proper medication use, highlighting the importance of implementing similar educational programs on a continuous basis to promote safe and responsible medicine use.

Abstract

Student organizations play a strategic role in developing students' character, leadership, and managerial competencies. The Student Nature Lovers Association of Universitas Bina Bangsa (MAPELBA), as a high-achieving student organization, requires strong leadership and organizational management to sustain its performance and achievements. A needs assessment revealed limited understanding of organizational leadership, unsystematic work program planning, and suboptimal administrative and financial management. This community service program aimed to strengthen leadership and organizational management capacity through a Basic Education and Training (Diklatsar) program involving 14 participants. A participatory, educational, and practical approach was implemented through needs assessment, module development, interactive training, discussions, leadership simulations, role-playing, and workshops. The program improved participants' understanding of leadership, organizational roles, work program planning, communication, teamwork, and systematic administration, thereby supporting more professional, accountable, and sustainable organizational governance.
