Abstract

Household electrical installations that do not comply with safety standards remain one of the leading causes of fires due to electrical short curcuits in residential areas. Limited public knowledge of electrical installation standards and the importance of protection systems highlights the need for educational programs. This community service program aimed to improve community knowledge and awareness of fire hazard mitigation through education on standardized household electrical installations based PUIL 2011. The program was conducted on May 19, 2026, in Tegal Yoso Village and involved 20 participants. The Participatory Technology Development approach was implemented through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test. The results showed an increase in participants’ average knowledge score from 42.1% to 92.1%. Participants demonstrated improved understanding of the functions of MCB, grounding systems, SNI-compliant electrical materials, and fire prevention measures. These findings indicate that practice-based education effectively improves community literacy on electrical safety.

Abstract

Anemia among women of reproductive age (WRA) remains a significant health problem affecting reproductive health and future generations. Limited knowledge and family involvement in anemia prevention were the main reasons for conducting this community service program. The aim was to improve knowledge and empower families in preventing anemia among WRA. The method involved health education through counseling, interactive discussions, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge scores from 55.2 to 86.7 (57% improvement), along with positive changes in family attitudes and behaviors in supporting iron supplementation and nutritious diets. This program demonstrates that family-based education is effective in preventing anemia. Therefore, family involvement plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable health improvement among women of reproductive age.

Abstract

The objective of this community service activity is to foster an understanding of the Japanese work culture through the application of case study and problem-solving methods at LPK Sekai Japan Tasikmalaya. This activity used lectures, case studies, and problem-solving to present the aforementioned activities in a single session. The material covered work ethics, professional communication, and teamwork, as well as Japanese work culture values such as kaizen, ganbatte, and bushido. A pre-test was administered, and data on student performance after instruction was collected through the following instruments: a post-test, observation, and focused group discussions. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants’ knowledge from the pre-test (average score of 60.25) to the post-test (average score of 85.25). Furthermore, participants became more active in their participation, adopted a critical mindset, and were better able to frame workplace issues. Therefore, the application of case study and problem-solving methods is effective in enhancing the readiness of individuals joining as participants in Japanese work culture, and can serve as an alternative learning model in vocational training institutions.

Abstract

Basic Arabic literacy is essential to introduce from an early age to support children’s understanding of Islamic teachings and language development. However, learning activities at Al-Qur’an Education Parks (TPQ) generally focus more on Qur’anic reading skills. This community service program aimed to enhance basic Arabic literacy among students at TPQ Al Firdaus Jaten Makamhaji through the development of visual design-based teaching modules in the form of postcards and posters. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, encompassing planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation stages involving students, ustadz/ustadzah, and the service team. Activities included introducing mufrodat (vocabulary), practicing simple conversations, utilizing visual media, conducting educational games, and mentoring teachers. The results indicated improvements in students’ ability to recognize and retain Arabic vocabulary, as well as increased motivation and participation in learning activities.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to improve the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills of members of the Family Welfare Empowerment Organization (PKK) in determining selling prices and conducting business feasibility analysis for laundry perfume products. The program was conducted on May 3, 2026, at RW 025 Griya Asri 2 Blocks G and F, Sumberjaya Village, South Tambun District, Bekasi Regency, involving approximately 50 participants consisting of PKK members, community leaders, and local residents. The implementation methods included lectures, discussions, hands-on training in laundry perfume production, simulations of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) calculations, selling price determination, and Break-Even Point (BEP) analysis. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of production cost calculation, pricing strategies, profit estimation, and business feasibility assessment. Based on the business simulation, the total production cost for 10 liters of laundry perfume was Rp333,600, resulting in a Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) of Rp33,360 per liter. By setting the selling price at Rp45,000 per liter, participants were able to identify a potential profit margin and evaluate the feasibility of the business. Furthermore, the program enhanced participants’ motivation to develop home-based entrepreneurial activities as an alternative source of family income. Therefore, this community service activity successfully contributed to strengthening entrepreneurial capacity and promoting economic empowerment among community members.

Abstract

Sorjem (Ngisor Jembatan) is a leading tourism destination in Tambaknegara Village, located along the Serayu River. It offers nature- and culture-based attractions, including river cruises, local culinary experiences, and interactions with local traditions. Managed by the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) “Tambaknegara Berkarya,” the destination faces challenges related to fragmented tourism service management and limited promotional activities. To address these issues, a Community Service Program (PKM) conducted by Universitas Amikom Purwokerto and funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in 2025 was implemented. The program produced an integrated tourism management website covering ticketing, boat rentals, and culinary services, strengthened social media promotion through regular content updates, and improved the BUMDes organizational structure by establishing a dedicated tourism division. Conducted from July to December 2025, the program aimed to enhance tourism management, increase promotional capacity, and strengthen institutional support for sustainable village tourism development.

Abstract

The chemical dependency of farmers in Konda Satu Village and the accumulation of fruit peel waste potentially trigger greenhouse gas emissions. This Community Service (PKM) program aims to transfer science and technology in processing fruit peel waste into eco-enzyme as an environmentally friendly liquid organic fertilizer (POC). The implementation method was based on a participatory, educational, and applicative approach through socialization, direct technical guidance demonstrations, and field mentoring. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in community capacity, marked by more active participation in practicing eco-enzymes. This program also successfully compiled a practical guidebook and produced ready-to-use liquid fertilizer to stimulate a closed-loop agricultural system. In conclusion, this PKM activity has tangibly improved farmers' technical skills in processing waste into organic inputs toward low-carbon agriculture.

Abstract

Indonesian language skills are fundamental competencies that support students’ learning processes and communication; however, the use of digital media in learning remains limited, particularly in remote areas such as Kampung Kweel. This community service program aims to improve the Indonesian language skills of elementary, junior high, and senior high school students through digital media training using a participatory approach, including preparation, socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The activities involve both theoretical instruction and practical exercises, such as reading digital texts, writing using applications, and creating simple videos to enhance speaking skills. The results show improvements in students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, as indicated by pre-test and post-test scores, while questionnaire results reveal positive responses toward digital media use. Thus, digital media training is effective in improving language skills as well as students’ motivation and confidence in learning.
