Abstract

Indonesia has great potential in the development of biowealth-based phytopharmaceutical products, considering its rich natural wealth and traditional medicine traditions. This study uses theories of legal utilitarianism, distributive justice, and legal positivism to explore the challenges facing Indonesia, as well as opportunities for more inclusive and adaptive reforms. This analysis employs a normative juridical approach, focusing on the analysis of written laws, regulations, doctrines and legal interpretations related to patent protection for phytopharmaceutic products. This approach enables a thorough understanding of the patent legal framework in Indonesia and its practical implementation. The case study method is used to evaluate several patents registered with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI). The results show that Indonesia is facing a number of complex legal challenges in the patent registration process, ranging from barriers to novelty criteria and inventive steps to lengthy administrative processes. In addition, Indonesia needs to strengthen its national patent system and intellectual property protection strategies to ensure that local communities benefit fairly from the use of their traditional knowledge. This research could investigate how these mechanisms influence innovation within local communities and their role in fostering sustainable practices.

Abstract

This paper aims to explore the impact of U-turn motions on traffic flow and service levels. The research employs the Guidebook (PKJI, 2023) to assess observations related to traffic volume, vehicle speed, and both disturbed and undisturbed flow, which are gathered during the field survey. The data used for analysis was obtained by collecting primary data and secondary data according to the needs of the research. In addition, the data was obtained from a number of reports and documents that had been prepared, as well as the results of other literature studies. The results show that the number of vehicles on a road section is significantly increased, resulting in a significant increase in traffic volume and a decrease in vehicle speed. Moreover, the frequency of the use of the maneuvers affects the level of congestion on the road section, highlighting the need for early and strategic planning in the development of transportation infrastructure, particularly land transportation, which is crucial for facilitating everyday mobility and economic activities. This paper also highlights the importance of incorporating advanced traffic modeling techniques and simulations to enhance prediction of traffic behavior under different scenarios, informing infrastructure improvements and traffic management strategies. Finally, comparing findings with similar studies in other regions could yield valuable benchmarks for assessing traffic efficiency and service quality.

Abstract

The implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles in Timor Leste and the implementation of antitrust policies in Indonesia have a significant impact on the competitiveness of companies in both countries. This paper aims to provide a deeper understanding of the comparison between the GCG principles applied in the two countries, both in terms of their implementation challenges and impacts on business competitiveness. The qualitative approach was chosen to understand the phenomenon in depth, identifying the dynamics in the legal and policy contexts in each country. Using the comparative analysis method, the author explores the similarities and differences between the two legal frameworks, as well as analyzes the social and economic impact of these policies on the competition of companies. It is expected that this research can contribute to the development of better economic policies both in the countries and provide insights for other developing countries in optimizing corporate governance and business competition to achieve inclusive and sustainable economic development.

Abstract

This research aims to address the challenges associated with the application of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) in live commerce for cosmetic products, focusing on the perception of consumers in Indonesia who are still very early or still in the awareness stage of the acceptance and/or application of AR/VR technology in online shopping. The study employs a positivist scientific method to systematically investigate the external variables influencing the adoption of AR and VR technologies in the live commerce beauty industry, identifying five significant determinants: Content Relevance, Performance Expectancy, Hedonic Motivation, Personal Innovativeness, Social Media Influence, and Trust. Effort Expectancy and Trust did not significantly affect Behavioral Intention, while Consumer Readiness (CR) positively affected Behavior Intention (BI), indicating that informed consumers are more likely to adopt AR/ VR technologies when exposed to social media influence. The findings suggest several strategies for businesses to enhance consumer adoption, with the goal of converting viewers into buyers. Additionally, developing frameworks to measure the return on investment (ROI) of AR integration in e-commerce could provide valuable insights for businesses, justifying investments and refining strategies for sustainable profitability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of stress levels, work motivation, and work conflict on employee performance at PT Tira Austenite Tbk. The study's population comprised 340 employees, from which a sample of 185 was determined using the Slovin formula and random sampling method. Data analysis was performed using SEM Partial Least Square (SPLS) with the Smart-PLS version 3.0 program, involving two stages: the measurement model and the structural model. The measurement model was tested for validity through convergent validity, discriminant validity, and average variance extracted, while reliability was assessed using composite reliability and Cronbach's alpha. The results of the hypothesis test show that work stress does not have a significant effect on employee productivity, while work conflict has a negative and significant effect. The findings can inform management practices and interventions aimed at improving employee performance, ultimately contributing to more effective workforce management strategies. Furthermore, longitudinal studies that track changes in employee performance over time in response to implemented motivational strategies could provide valuable insights into the long-term effectiveness of such interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to explore (1) the influence of polarization of public opinion on YouTube social media on the 2024 presidential debate, (2) the public's response to the issue of democracy raised by the presidential candidate pair, and (3) the impact of YouTube use on political participation in the 2024 presidential election. Using a qualitative approach with the critical discourse analysis (CDA) method, this study analyzes online conversations about democracy issues in the 2024 election debate. The data was obtained through web scraping using Python and analyzed using the NVivo application to identify keywords and conduct sentiment analysis. Researchers play the role of the main instrument in the research process, ensuring the validity of data through systematic analysis. The analysis process includes the identification of debate videos, transcription of comments, classification, and analysis of participation patterns. The results of the study show that (1) the polarization of public opinion occurs through moderate debates related to the presidential candidate's ideas about democracy, human rights, and social justice; (2) the response of the public reflects the important role of YouTube in shaping understanding of democratic issues; and (3) the use of social media, especially YouTube, contributes significantly to political participation, making these platforms a tool for discussing and expressing political views that can influence the outcome of elections.

Abstract

Zakat as a Mahdhah worship has maqashid Zakat to meet the emergency needs of Mustahik which consists of 8 Asnaf. Zakat is a tool to carry out humanitarian programs that are sustainable in nature in addition to emergency needs (needs that must be met at that time). The purpose of this research is to identify the sources of ambiguity in the management of Muslim funds and to explore how these perspectives can function harmoniously. The research triangulation was carried out by looking at the compatibility of the data obtained from the Forum Group Discussion (FGD) with the Depth Interview used. The results of the study indicate that there are differences in understanding of Zakat innovation, especially related to income Zakat and corporate Zakat. The integration of programs sourced from Zakat funds and CSR funds is based on the needs and responsibilities of companies to fulfill maqashid Sharia and sustainable development.
