Abstract

Country with good education condition can be seen through its citizen scientific literacy. This research aims to improving the students’ scientific literacy ability by using discovery learning model at 7th grade students of State Junior High School 3 Ngronggot, Nganjuk-Indonesia. The instrument in this Kemmis and Taggart Model of Classroom Action Research was an essay test composed based on indicators developed by Gormaly. The results of the research showed that there were improvements on the students’ scientific literacy ability from cycle I to cycle II on six of seven indicators. Those improvements are as follows: Indentifying scientific opinion increased from 0% into 64.52%, reviewing literature effectively increased from 0% into 29.03%, understanding research design and the way how its effect to the finding/discussion increased from 14.29% into 19.35%, making graphic from the data correctly increased from 0% to 58.07%, solving problems using quantitative skill including operating basic statistics increased from 7.14% to 58.07%. However, in making inference, prediction and drawing conclusion based on quantitative data, the improvement was only on the students’ answer that got 1 score, it increased from 7.14% to 77.42%. In addition, for the indicator of understanding and interpreting basic statistic, it decreased from 21.43% to 12.90%.

Abstract

Abstrak. Metode pencarian citra dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai cara yaitu pencarian citra berdasarkan teks dan pencarian citra berdasarkan kontent (warna, bentuk, tekstur). Akan tetapi untuk saat ini sistem pencarian citra  berdasarkan teks lebih sering digunakan oleh user dalam proses pencarian citra  daripada sistem pencarian citra berdasarkan warna. Penelitian ini digunakan untuk membandingkan pencarian citra berdasarkan teks dan berdasarkan konten warna.  Metode pencarian citra berdasarkan teks yang digunakan adalah Latent Semantic Indexing. Dalam pencarian citra berdasarkan warna ini metode yang digunakan adalah histogram warna citra digital dengan menggunakan pengukuran jarak euclidien. Untuk mengukur performa sistem digunakan precision dan recall sebagai evaluasi performa. Kata Kunci: histogram, jarak euclidien, Lartent Semantic Indexing, precision, recall.

Abstract

Kegiatan pembelajaran Laboratorium IPA seluruhnya menggunakan metode percobaan hal ini sesuai dengan deskripsi matakuliah Laboratorium IPA yang membekali mahasiswa terampil menerapkan konsep dasar IPA melalui suatu kegiatan percobaan. Harapannya mahasiswa  lebih memahami konsep dasar IPA dan mampu mengimplementasikan dalam  praktik belajar mengajar. Data diperoleh dari hasil laporan kegiatan pembelajaran selama 1 semester. Penelitian awal ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar mahasiswa rata-rata sejumlah 82,47. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar mahasiswa dikategorikan  cukup. Ada beberapa kendala yang dihadapi oleh pengampu matakuliah ini diantaranya adalah kurang detailnya kriteria penilaian laporan kegiatan, petunjuk kegiatan yang masih belum mengarahkan mahasiswa ke arah penemuan, kurangnya kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menghubungkan antara data yang diperoleh dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dengan sumber belajar.  Kata kunci: Laboratorium IPA, hasil belajar

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the anticancer mechanism of the bioactive compound of Pisangulin angulata and to assess the feasibility of that results as teaching material. This research includes descriptive explorations. In the first stage, an in silico analysis was performed by molecular docking method between physalin compounds and GLI1 protein. The second steps of this study aim to develop teaching materials based research using the Analysis, Reorganizing, Piloting Class, and Evaluating (ARPE models). Feasibility test was carried out by experts and practitioners. Think Pair Share was used in the pilot project. Student motivation and misconception were recorded using SMI and CRI instrument. This study reveals that physalin B has higher activities than controls. The type of chemical bond that is formed between GLI1 amino acids residues with physalin is hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic bonds. The visualization of the types of bonds in that molecular docking between GLI1 amino acid residues and physalin has a high degree of feasibility (89) and can be used to enrich Chemistry for Biology lectures. The visualization of these chemical bonds can increase learning motivation and can improve the understanding of the concept of chemical bonds.

Abstract

Kawasan wisata air terjun Irenggolo memiliki potensi keragaman hayati yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terdahulu diketahui terdapat sebanyak 35 jenis kupu-kupu di kawasan ini. Jumlah individu sebanyak 1.622 individu tergolong tinggi. Populasi kupu dipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan pakan dan habitatnya. Pengetahuan pengelola Kawasan wisata menjadi penting karena akan menentukan keberlangsungan jenis kupu yang ada. Metode  pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara menggunakan angket yang telah tervalidasi oleh ahli. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah diperoleh, diketahui bahwa sebanyak 8,6% responden dapat dengan benar menyebutkan lebih dari tiga jenis tumbuhan pakannya. 60% responden hanya mampu menjawab sebanyak kurang dari tiga jenis corak warna sayap kupu-kupu. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa edukasi kepada pengelola sangat penting untuk dilakukan.

Abstract

Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan wawasan guru IPA Kabupaten Kediri tentang penelitian dan karya tulisi ilmiah. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk seminar yang dilanjutkan dengan FGD kelompok. Tahap seminar berupa paparan materi yang memuat praktik terbaik hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi UNP Kediri. Materi seminar berupa praktik terbaik tentang teknik penentuan topik, judul, penentuan metode penelitian, penyusunan instumen dan analisis data, pengenalan kode etik ilmiah, plagiasi dan upaya menghindari plagiasi. FGD berujuan untuk memfasilitasi peserta seminar yang memiliki kendala baik dalam meneliti maupun dalam menyusun karya tulis ilmiah . Data berupa ragam kendala guru IPA dalam meneliti dan menyusun karya tulis ilmiah diinvetaris oleh peneliti. Peneliti bertindak sebagai observer partisipan yang terlibat langsung selama dua tahap kegiatan. Data yang terkumpul ditabulasi dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Kendala guru IPA dalam melaksanakan penelitian antara lain belum adanya mitra yang berperan sebagai pendamping, terbatasnya wawasan tentang ruang lingkup penelitian, dan terbatasnya wawasan tentang analisis data. Kendala guru IPA dalam menyusun karya tulis ilmiah antara lain: guru IPA belum mengetahui plagiasi, keterampilan mendeskripsikan masih kurang, dan banyaknya tawaran dari pihak eksternal tentang layanan jasa pembuatan karya tulis ilmiah. Program ini digunakan oleh guru untuk menyampaikan kendala dalam meneliti dan menulis karya tulis ilmiah sekaligus mendapatkan umpan balik alternatif solusi yang dapat dilakukan oleh guru IPA dan UNP Kediri dalam bentuk penelitian dan publikasi bersama-sama.

Abstract

The process of scientific argumentation skills in biology learning at SMAN 1 Kediri is nonoptimal yet. This study aimed at improving students’ scientific argumentation using ASICC-based electronic modules. This Research and Development employed Plomp development model. The subjects of this study were X graders of MIPA SMAN 1 Kediri which consisted of 32 students. There were three stages of the Plomp model conducted i.e., preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment. The expert validation score gained for subject matter and linguistic was 85% (valid category), the validation score for design and media professionals' validation is 81% with a valid category, the teacher validation score is 93% with a very valid category, and the small group test score is 88% with a very valid category. Implementation of the ASICC-based electronic module had results such as 25 of 32 students got the N-Gain score in the high category, 5 students in the medium category, and 2 students in the low category. The ASICC-based electronic module on protist material is valid and effective to improve the scientific argumentation skills of class X MIPA students in SMAN 1 Kediri.

Abstract

This study aims to develop mathematics and science modules that is intended for prospective elementary school teacher or PGSD Study Program students, to determine the validity of the STEM teaching modules that have been developed, and to find out the practicality of the STEM modules that have been developed. The method was a research and development model using the 4D development model, including the following Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The tryout was carried out on PGSD UNP Kediri students. The data analysis techniques were qualitative and quantitative, embraced with expert and user validation instruments. The results of this study indicate that the STEM teaching modules developed is stated to be very valid or very good and can be used with a score of 3.62 based on the result of validating the math and science modules. To find out the practicality of the teaching modules, validation was carried out on users and tryout. The result shows that the teaching modules developed can be used with a score of 3.50.

Abstract

In Indonesia, 21st century education has 4 skills, namely creative thinking, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. 21st Century skills are applied through the K-13 curriculum which requires students to be active in learning. It is expected that students will be able to have 21st century skills including communication and argumentation skills. Communication skills are important for students to help convey, listen and understand the meaning of knowledge, values, attitudes and attention. Argumentation skills are important for students to help them argue rationally, so that other people can accept these opinions. Instruments of communication and argumentation skills of students are made as a tool to measure student skills, and instrument of validation makes it easier to collect data with the results more complete, good, systematic and easy to process. The research instrument used was an instrument of communication skills and student argumentation. This study aims to determine the validation criteria of communication skills and argumentation instruments for biology students of XI MIPA high school students. The method used is descriptive method. Based on the data obtained from the research results showed that the level of validation based on the experts of communication skills and argumentation of biology students in class XI MIPA high school including the criteria of Good (B) with a value of 25, whereas according to practitioners the communication skills and argumentation instruments of class XI MIPA high school students including the criteria of Very Good (SB) with a value of 26.
