Abstract

Apple has the most fruit productio at Batu City. There are two apple  varieties; Manalagi cherry and Anna, but some apple varieties have low quality (grade D). The reason is because of low price and the consumers is not interesting to buy, so grade D apple decreased. An alternative to apply the grade D apple is by using for nata production with addition three sugar sort, that is cane sugar, palm sugar and siwalan sugar as a food diversification. This study aims to (1) examine the effect of varieties of apples on the quality of nata based on the weight, thickness and fiber content, (2) to examine the effect of three kinds of sugar on the quality of nata based on the weight, thickness and fiber content , (3) to analyze the difference effect of apples varieties and sugars sort that produce the highest quality nata. The results showed that (1) the apples varieties has significant effect on the nata quality based on the nata fiber content, but there is no significant effect of apples varieties on the nata quality based on the thickness and weight of nata. varieties Manalagi cherry variety produces the best nata quality based on the fiber content, (2) The sugar sorts significantly affect to the nata quality based on thickness, weight and nata fiber content. The use of palm sugar produces the best nata quality based on the thickness, weight and fiber content, (3) The interaction of apple varieties and sugars sorts significantly affect to the nata quality based on the thickness, weight and nata fiber content. Manalagi cherry variety with the addition of palm sugar gives the best nata quality based on the thickness, weight and fiber content

Abstract

Mikrobiologi Terapan merupakan matakuliah wajib bagi mahasiswa agar dapat mengaplikasikan manfaat mikroorganisme di sekitar untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup manusia.  Selama ini mahasiswa belum mepunyai buku mini riset dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran Mikrobiologi Terapan. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu terobosan untuk mengembangkan buku mini riset Mikrobiologi Terapan berbasis masalah untuk menjawab kebutuhan mahasiswa.  Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efektivitas buku mini riset Mikrobiologi Terapan yang telah dikembangkan pada mahasiswa Program Pascasarjana Unimed pada Semester III.  Data diperoleh melalui angket dan dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif.  Hasil penelitian bahwa buku mini riset Mikrobiologi Terapan dinilai layak oleh tim validator, efektif, dan mampu menjawab kebutuhan mahasiswa dengan data hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata 82% dengan kategori sesuai dan 86% dengan kategori sangat sesuai sedangkan pada uji coba lapangan menunjukkan rata-rata 85% dengan kategori efektif.

Abstract

Pelaku  utama kegiatan ekonomi tambang batubara  koridor 3 MP3EI di Kalimantan Timur adalah orang dewasa. Dampak perilaku kegiatan ekonomi tambang batu bara koridor 3 MP3EI di Kalimantan Timur terkait masalah lingkungan,   ikut dirasakan orang dewasa. Selama ini upaya instasi terkait  mengatasi masalah lingkungan tidak efektif karena tidak sesuai  akar permasalahan.  Akar masalah adalah Perilaku orang dewasa yang dapat diubah melalui pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan. Penyebab ketidak efektifan program mengatasi masalah lingkungan, karena tidak disesuaikan dengan pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan orang dewasa sebagai sasaran program mengatasi masalah lingkungan setelah  kegiatan tambang batu bara. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, menjadi urgen mengelola permasalahan lingkungan terkait pelibatan orang dewasa dalam implementasi program mengatasi masalah lingkungan akibat  tambang batu bara. Mengacu pada permasalahan di atas maka tujuan akhir (Tahun 3) penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan manajemen pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan berbasis pendekatan androgogi (orang dewasa) sebagai solusi masalah lingkungan akibat kegiatan ekonomi tambang batu bara koridor MP3EI di Kalimantan Timur. Makalah ini menyajikan hasil penelitian tahun 1 terkait analisis kebutuhan untuk pengembangan manajemen. Metode penelitian adalah Penelitian pengembangan diawali analisis kebutuhan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi dan FGD untuk mendapatkan data  lembaga pemerintahan dan perusahaan batu bara dalam memanajemen program mengatasi masalah lingkungan selama ini. Analisis data secara kualitatif melalui reduksi data, display data, dan interpretasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permasalahan lingkungan sebelum dan setelah kegiatan tambang batu bara terjadi peningkatan baik dari macam kerusakan maupun kategori kerusakan, karena manajemen program mengatasi masalah lingkungan oleh pemerintah maupun perusahaan tambang batu bara, belum berdasarkan pada akar permasalahan. Adapun menejemen program yang diterapkan bersifat top down dan tidak sesuai dengan  penyebab kerusakan lingkungan yakni prilaku orang dewasa.

Abstract

This study describes attitude of students on climate change research based lecture through google classroom. This research is a qualitative research with survey method to 90 students from physics education program, biology education and chemical education that take environment-based course. The instrument used in this study is attitude questionnaire. Data analysis using descriptive statistical analysis technique that is by using formula percentage. Based on the data analysis, it is found that the students give positive response to the environment study based on climate change research through google classroom. So that the utilization of google classroom on lecturing environment based on climate change research results provide a positive influence for learning activities.

Abstract

The objective of research was to improve the question’s quantity and quality student’s through the application of PBL using dialogue Socratic model at grade X MIA 4 of State Senior High School Gondangrejo. The result of the pre-cycleobservation shows that the quality of the question are 6 question. The quality of the question is in the C2 thinking level while according to the knowledge dimension is un the conceptual knowledge dimension. Mostly, the students thinking skill were low. So that, it needed to be improved. This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycle. Subject were 36 students of X MIA 4 State Senior High School Gondangrejo. The steps of the research were planning, acting, and reflecting in each cycle. Data collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The data validation used triangulation method, and then were analized using qualitative-descriptive analysis technique. The improvement of the quantity and the quality of students question indicated by 6 question of pre-cycle activities with conceptual C2 as the best question quality, became 54 questions with procedural C3 as the highest questions quality within first cycle and 70 questions with metacognition C2 as the highest questions quality within the final cycle. The conclusion of research was the application of PBL using dialogue Socratic model improve the quantity and quality of question student at grade X MIA 4 State High School Gondangrejo.

Abstract

The proboscis monkey (Nasalis larvatus) is the fauna mascot of Kalimantan Selatan Province. Distribution and its status inTanah BumbuRegency had not been reported yet. The objectives of the research were to document locationswhere the proboscis monkey lives in, estimate their population, and identifythe factorsinfluencingthe population. Methodsapplied were interview the people and directly survey to the field. The monkeys were found in 15 of 19 locations surveyed andthe population was more than 245 individuals, but they were not in 4 others. In addition to galam forest, mangrove forest, swamp forest, riverine forest, rubber forest, and forest growing on the limestone hill, the proboscis monkeys were found living in lands of ex-cultivation (ex-ladang), ex-fishpond, andex-sawmill industry. The factorsinfluencing or being likely to decrease the population were the broadening of oil-palm plantationand the development ofcoal mining, coal harbors, illegal logging, land/forest fire, and ressettlements. Key Words: location, Nasalis larvatus, population, status, Tanah Bumbu

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Tingginya jumlah gliserol sebagai produk dari berbagai industri mensyaratkan adanya upaya pengolahan gliserol menjadi produk lain yang bernilai ekonomis. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan seleksi kemampuan beberapa isolat bakteri dalam mengkonversi gliserol menjadi etanol.Isolat yang diuji berupa isolat  bakteri dari rumen sapi dan isolat dari koleksi kultur Laboratorium Mikrobiologi SITH ITB yaitu, Enterobacter aerogenes, Bacillus licheniformis, B. subtilis, B. circulans, dan B. cereus. Hasil penapisan menunjukkan terbentuknya etanol pada medium basal yang mengandung 0,5% (b/v) gliserol yang diinokulasi dengan E. aerogenes, B. licheniformis, dan B. subtilis, sedangkanisolat dari isi rumen sapi menunjukkan hasil yang negatif. Pada kondisi anaerob E. aerogenes menghasilkan kadar etanol tertinggi sebesar 0,033 g/L dengan laju pembentukan etanol rata-rata sebesar 0,006 g/L/hari dan laju pertumbuhan rata-rata sebesar 0,0741/hari. Selanjutnya, kadar etanol tertinggi sebesar 0,036 g/L dicapai pada variasi kadar awal gliserol 1% (b/v) dengan laju pembentukan etanol rata-rata sebesar 0,008 g/L/hari dan laju pertumbuhan rata-rata sebesar 0,111/hari. Pada kondisi optimum (berdasarkan hasil-hasil percobaan sebelumnya) diperoleh etanol dengan kadar tertinggi  0,04 g/L yang setelah dikonfirmasi dengan analisis GC kadar etanol adalah sebesar 0,791 g/L.   Kata Kunci: konversi, gliserol, etanol

Abstract

Antioxidant is a chemical that can protect cell and tissues from damage caused by oxidation process of free radical attack. This aim of this study was to know the antioxidant activity and the quality of syrup combination between soursop leaf and dragon fruit peel on the variation of boiling time. This study method used experimental research design,Complete Random Design by two factors, the first factor was combination between soursop leaf + dragon fruit peel ( 6g :3g ; 4,5g :4,5g ; 3g :6g ; 9g without soursop leaf; 9g withou dragon fruit peel) and the second factor was the variation of boiling time(30 minutes + 45 minutes). DPPH method was used to know antioxidant activity of syrup, while the organoleptic test and the society acceptance used questionnaire.The results showed the highest antioxidant activity of syrup was 49.47% in combination between soursop leaf 4.5 g + dragon fruit peel 4.5 g and boiling time of 45 minutes (F3.G2) and the lowest antioxidant activity of syrup was 7, 5655% in soursop leaf 9 g and boiling time of 30 minutes. The most dominant quality of syrup was pink color, sweet taste, and the quite delicious. The panelist like syrup on dragon fruit peel 9g without soursop leaf with boiling time of 45 minutes (F5.G2). The longer boiling time, the higher value of antioxidant activity in syrup combination between soursop leaf and dragon fruit peel was.

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrakmethanol, etanol dan kloroform dari daun Sidaguri (Sida rhombifolia L.) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Klebsiella pneumouniaedanStaphylococcus Aureus. Serbuk daun Sidaguri diekstraksi secara bertingkat menggunakan metanol 90%, etanol 96% dan klorofom dengan metode maserasi. Masing-masing filtrat yang diperoleh diuapkan dengan rotary evaporator pada suhu 35ºC sehingga diperoleh ekstrak kering. Aktivitas antibakteri diuji dengan metode difusi agar dengan menggunakan bakteri uji K. pneumouniaedanS. Aureus.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol dan etanol daun Sidaguri (Sida rhombifolia L.)dengan konsentrasi 6%mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri terhadap K. pneumouniae, yang ditunjukkan dengan adanya zona hambat masing-masing sebesar 31,61 mm dan 31,08 mm. Ekstrak metanol dan etanoldaun Sidaguri (Sida rhombifolia L.) ini tidak mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri terhadap S. Aureus karena tidak menunjukkan adanya zona hambat. Untuk ekstrak kloroform tidak menunjukkan aktivitas antibakteri baik terhadap K. pneumouniae maupun S. Aureus.   Kata Kunci: Sidaguri, Sida rhombifolia L., Klebsiella pneumouniae, Staphylococcus Aureus.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Bogor Botanical Garden (BBG) is one of many important assets of Indonesia. It has very wide range of botanical collection that have high scientific values. Up to present there are only line maps available to visualize the BBG, and none of them available in the form of image maps yet. To completely and clearly present the information of the BBG, a satellite remote sensing IKONOS imagery is required to visualize the thematic geospatial information on a map at the scale of 1:5.000. The aim of the research project is to visualize the thematic geospatial information of the scientific botanical garden on a 1:5.000 scale image map.Data of thematic geospatial information of the scientific botanical garden were collected from the old maps of the BBG and the catalogues of the Indonesian Institution of Sciences. Other data of line maps and IKONOS imageries were processed in a series of phases i.e. geometric correction, determination of the 321 band, data editing and updating, and cartographic designs in one and two levels, including the distribution of questionnaires to test the design out and get the feed back from the respondents.Result of the visualization is considered substantially sufficient, cartographically correct and complete at scale of 1:5.000, and aesthetically interesting in terms of tourism due to the acceptance of the entire 30 designed image symbols. Key words : bambu visualization, image map, bogor botanical garden, cartography, ikonos imagery.
