Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Disclosure and Leverage on Company Value, with Profitability as a moderating variable, among energy-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2020–2024 period. This study employed a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from Bloomberg, financial statements, and company annual reports. The research sample consisted of 17 companies selected through purposive sampling, resulting in a total of 85 observations. Data analysis was conducted using Multiple Linear Regression Analysis and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with SPSS software. The results showed that ESG Disclosure had a negative and significant effect on Company Value, while Leverage, measured using the Debt-to-Asset Ratio (DAR), had a positive and significant effect on Company Value. The Profitability moderation variable, measured using Return on Assets (ROA), was unable to moderate the effect of ESG Disclosure on Company Value but was able to significantly moderate the effect of Leverage on Company Value in a negative direction. These findings indicate that investors in energy-sector companies in Indonesia continue to prioritize fundamental financial factors over ESG disclosures when assessing Company Value, and that high profitability may weaken the positive impact of debt utilization on Company Value.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in the economy of West Sumbawa Regency; however, their competitiveness remains limited because many business owners have not obtained halal and organic certification for their locally produced products. This study aims to assess the readiness of MSMEs, identify the challenges they face, and formulate priority strategies for strengthening MSME competitiveness through halal and organic certification in West Sumbawa Regency. The study employed a mixed-methods approach that combined qualitative and quantitative analyses, using the Internal Factor Analysis Summary (IFAS), External Factor Analysis Summary (EFAS), Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis, and the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). Data were collected through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, observations, document analysis, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), involving 30 MSME owners as respondents and nine key informants representing local government agencies, MSME support institutions, halal certification authorities, and academia. The results indicate that the overall readiness of the MSMEs was at a moderate level, with a mean score of 3.19. Business owners' commitment received the highest score, whereas business administration and documentation remained the weakest aspects. The IFAS and EFAS analyses positioned the organization in Quadrant I, indicating an aggressive growth strategy. The QSPM results identified Strategy SO1 as the highest priority, namely accelerating halal and organic certification by leveraging local potential and supportive government policies, with the highest Total Attractiveness Score (TAS) of 7.10, followed by Strategy WO1 (6.90), Strategy ST1 (6.82), and Strategy SO2 (6.59).

Abstract

Dams are critical national infrastructure assets that the Indonesian government has developed extensively over the past decade to improve water security and mitigate the impacts of drought and extreme weather events. This large-scale development has created increasing demands for effective and sustainable dam maintenance. At present, dam maintenance activities have not been systematically implemented using a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)-based approach. Ideally, maintenance performance should be optimized by first identifying the complete scope of maintenance components and then developing maintenance guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each identified component. These WBS-based maintenance procedures and guidelines can subsequently be integrated into a maintenance management model using Building Information Modeling (BIM). To support real-time monitoring and inspection, laser scanning (LS) technology can be integrated with BIM and information systems (IS). This study forms part of the development of an electronic dam maintenance (e-maintenance) system by examining the relationships among the key components of the proposed framework, namely WBS, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), BIM, laser scanning (LS), and information systems (IS), and their influence on improving dam maintenance performance. Multiple regression analysis, followed by expert validation, was employed to evaluate the significance of these variables in the proposed dam maintenance system. The results indicate strong relationships among the variables, with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.714 to 0.822. Among the variables, WBS exhibited the strongest influence on dam maintenance performance, with the highest standardized regression coefficient (b = 0.237), whereas the remaining variables produced coefficients ranging from 0.048 to 0.173.

Abstract

This study aims to interpret the social communication messages in the lyrics and music-video visualization of "Semua Akan Indah Pada Waktunya" performed by Pilotz Band featuring Roy Jeconiah. It employs a constructivist paradigm, a qualitative descriptive approach, and Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis at the levels of denotation, connotation, and myth. Data were collected through observation of the lyrics and eighteen music-video scenes, documentation, and in-depth interviews with seven informants involved in the creation and production of the work, as well as an audience member and a film practitioner. Source triangulation was used to strengthen data credibility. The findings show that the lyrics signify life as a cyclical process filled with hardship that should be faced with patience, gratitude, faith, and perseverance. The visualization presents signs of health workers, a laid-off employee, an elderly street vendor, and informal workers, representing the health, economic, and emotional pressures experienced during the pandemic. At the connotative level, gestures such as giving flowers, helping retrieve balloons, buying merchandise, offering drinking water, and encouraging a laid-off worker emphasize empathy, solidarity, care, and social support. The myth constructed is a collective belief that resilience, hard work, mutual assistance, and unity enable society to overcome difficult times. The song and music video therefore function not merely as entertainment but as social communication media that convey optimism and strengthen social resilience.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between secondhand smoke exposure among pregnant women and the incidence of low birth weight (LBW) in Semarang City. This study employed a quantitative observational analytic approach using a case-control design. A total of 282 respondents, consisting of 141 cases and 141 controls, were selected using a consecutive sampling technique. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire adapted from the Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) and analyzed using the Chi-square test and binary logistic regression. The results showed that 76.6% of pregnant women were exposed to secondhand smoke during pregnancy, while the prevalence of low birth weight was 5.7%. Bivariate analysis demonstrated a significant association between secondhand smoke exposure and low birth weight (p < 0.001). The Odds Ratio (OR) indicated that pregnant women exposed to secondhand smoke had approximately 9.52 times higher odds of delivering a low birth weight infant than those who were not exposed. Multivariate analysis revealed that household income and maternal occupation remained significant factors associated with low birth weight after controlling for potential confounding variables. This study concluded that secondhand smoke exposure during pregnancy was significantly associated with the occurrence of low birth weight. Strengthening health education, incorporating secondhand smoke exposure screening into antenatal care services, and promoting smoke-free environments at home and in workplaces are recommended to reduce the incidence of low birth weight.

Abstract

This study examined the influence of perceived parental support and perceived peer support on adolescents’ psychological well-being, with self-esteem as a mediating variable. A quantitative correlational approach was employed involving 122 high school students aged 15–18 years in Bekasi Regency, who were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using four adapted psychological instruments and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The results showed that both parental support (O = 0.545, p < 0.05) and peer support (O = 0.435, p < 0.05) had positive and significant direct effects on psychological well-being and self-esteem. Self-esteem was also found to significantly mediate the effects of parental support (O = 0.115, p < 0.05) and peer support (O = 0.122, p < 0.05) on psychological well-being. Notably, within the urban-industrial context of Bekasi Regency, peer support demonstrated a slightly stronger role in shaping self-esteem (O = 0.498) compared with parental support (O = 0.470). These findings highlight that the internalization of social support into positive self-esteem represents an important mechanism for improving adolescent psychological well-being. The findings also provide practical implications for parents, educators, and policymakers in developing effective support interventions to promote adolescent mental health.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of readiness, obstacles, and adaptability of cadets of the Sorong Shipping Polytechnic Ship Ship Study Program while carrying out tasks in the engine room. The research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. Data was collected through a questionnaire containing 24 statements that included three constructs, namely readiness before sea practice, obstacles during practice, and occupational adaptation and safety. A total of 16 cadets who have carried out sea practice were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 22. The results of the instrument test showed that all items were valid with Cronbach's Alpha values of 0.966 each; 0,926; and 0.988, which indicates very high reliability. The results of the study showed that cadets had a high level of readiness before sea practice, especially in understanding tasks in the engine room and the ship's engine system. The main obstacles faced are the lack of practical experience as well as the gap between on-campus learning and operational conditions on board. On the other hand, adaptability, working closely with the crew, and implementing safety procedures are in the high category. These findings show that marine practice plays an important role in integrating theoretical knowledge with real-world work experience and supporting the reinforcement of experiential learning through practice optimization, simulators, and collaboration with the shipping industry.

Abstract

This research examined the levels of tolerance and moderation among pesantren (Islamic boarding school) students regarding differences in madhhab (schools of thought) and scholarly opinions within fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), while also analyzing the factors influencing these attitudes. The research was motivated by the urgency of addressing the increasing phenomena of intra-Islamic intolerance and sectarianism related to madhhab differences in Indonesia. Although studies on tolerance in Islamic contexts have generally focused on interfaith relations, research specifically examining intra-Islamic tolerance regarding fiqh schools of thought within pesantren communities remains limited in methodological and empirical aspects. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 320 students from Buntet Islamic Boarding School, selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a standardized questionnaire with verified validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression. The results showed that 67.2% of students demonstrated high levels of tolerance and moderation. Comparative fiqh literacy (? = 0.412; p < 0.001) emerged as the strongest predictor of cross-madhhab tolerance, followed by the quality of kitab kuning (traditional Islamic texts) instruction (? = 0.318; p < 0.001) and the pesantren social environment (? = 0.241; p < 0.01). The study concluded that comparative fiqh curricula and the tradition of kitab kuning study contributed significantly to shaping students’ tolerance toward madhhab differences. These findings support efforts to strengthen religious moderation within pesantren institutions.
