Abstract

Vitamin D has gained significant attention for its potential role in periodontal health. This scoping review investigates the evidence on dietary vitamin D interventions and assessments in periodontal diseases, examining their impact on periodontal outcomes and identifying research gaps. Using the PRISMA for Scoping Reviews protocols, data were sourced from PubMed and Scopus, including studies focused on dietary vitamin D interventions in periodontal diseases. Exclusions were non-peer-reviewed articles, reviews, animal studies, and inaccessible full-text articles. A total of 22 studies were included: 11 experimental and 11 observational. Among experimental studies, vitamin D supplementation (n=7) was the most common intervention. Observational studies employed various dietary assessment methods, including 24-hour dietary recall (n=2), food frequency questionnaires (FFQ) (n=3), dietary supplement intake (n=3), and combined methods (n=3). Experimental findings suggest that vitamin D supplementation may enhance periodontal health, particularly when paired with non-surgical treatments. Mixed findings from observational studies and limited research on surgical contexts underscore the complexity of establishing definitive conclusions. These findings emphasize the need for standardized methodologies and further investigation to better understand the role of vitamin D in periodontal health.

Abstract

Studies Osteoarthritis is one of the degenerative elements most customarily discovered in musculoskeletal diseases; osteoarthritis is the most common motive of restricted movement and feature; the region most often affected is the knee joint (Susilawati et al., 2015). The incidence of osteoarthritis dramatically follows the growth in patient age. As many as 70% of patients elderly over sixty-five years old suffer from osteoarthritis (Suhendriyo, 2014). The major hassle skilled by osteoarthritis sufferers is constrained helpful hobbies. Osteoarthritis can also cause disturbances in purposeful activities, along with trouble on foot, lengthy distances, standing from a squatting position, going up and down stairs, and disruption in valuable activities. Pain management techniques consist of pharmacological remedies and non-pharmacological therapy. Pharmacological remedy consists of drugs, while non-pharmacological therapy includes bodily remedy, modalities, and cognitive and behavioral techniques. The physical remedy to alleviate pain consists of numerous varieties of skin stimulation (massage, nerve stimulation with transcutaneous power, acupuncture, bloodless or warmth or compresses application, and exercise). Heat utility is a simple movement that has long been regarded as a powerful technique for reducing pain or muscle spasms.Heat can be distributed through conduction (hot water bottles, wet compresses, heat). Pain from bruises, muscle spasms, and arthritis respond appropriately to warmth (Price and Wilson, 2005;1087-1088). Ginger has pharmacological results that might be efficacious as a remedy (Team Lentera, 2002; 1). This study is a quantitative observation with a move-sectional quasi-experiment layout and uses the chi-square (bivariate) statistical check. The population is all citizens of RT 05 RW XVI Tlogosari Kulon Semarang. Sampling used purposive sampling—place and time of research at RT V RW XVI Tlogosari Kulon Semarang. The research tools and substances used by researchers are the 'BALUT' (Knee Bandage) tool, which is an aggregate of the use of a knee decker and ginger compress.

Abstract

safety is important because it is a system where hospitals make patient care safer. Patient safety is the foundation of good health care. Health workers' knowledge of patient safety includes proper patient identification, better communication, increased drug safety that needs to be considered, certainty of location, procedure, and proper operation for patients, reduction of infection risk, and risk of falls. But from a patient safety perspective, patient safety at various levels of health care is still poor worldwide and nationally. One of the most common adverse events in hospitals is patient falls. Worldwide, around 700,000 to 1 million patients fall in hospitals each year, causing around 250,000 injuries and up to 11,000 deaths. During hospitalization, around 2% of patients fall at least once. One of the international patient safety goals (IPSG) is to reduce the risk of patient falls. According to data from PERSI (Indonesian Hospital Association), the incidence of patient falls in Indonesia from January to September 2022 reached 14% of a total of 34 cases. This shows that the presentation of patient falls is included in the top 5 hospital medical incidents and is ranked second after medical errors. This shows a high rate of patient falls in Indonesia. The Hospital Patient Safety Committee (KKPRS) reported that the highest risk of patient falls in Indonesia occurred in the provinces of DKI Jakarta (37.9%), West Java (33.33%), Banten and Central Java (20%), Yogyakarta (13.8%), and East Java (3.33%). The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Health Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (HFMEA) on the quality of health services in an effort to improve patient safety, especially in hospitals

Abstract

The quality of a hospital as an institution that produces health service technology products certainly also depends on the quality of medical services and nursing services provided to patients. Due to the increasingly tight and sharp competition between hospitals, each hospital is required to increase its competitiveness by trying to provide satisfaction to its patients. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the quality of service on the satisfaction of outpatients at the Obgyn polyclinic of RSU Bahagia. This type of research is a quantitative research type, through a cross-sectional study approach. The population in this study were outpatients who had received services as seen based on data on the number of patient visits in one month, which was 67 patients. The sampling technique in this study used the Purposive Sampling technique, which was 57 respondents. The results of the statistical test analysis used the chi-square test and logistic regression test. Where the results showed that there was a significant effect with (p <0.05). Accessibility variable with p 0.003 <0.05, Waiting Time variable p 0.000 <0.05, Physical Environment variable p 0.008 <0.05, Physician Consultation variable p 0.002 <0.05 have an effect on patient satisfaction. From the results of the logistic regression test, it was obtained that Waiting Time had the most effect on patient satisfaction with a t value (6.365). It is recommended that hospitals always evaluate and improve the quality of services reviewed such as waiting time, communication between health workers, and comfort of facilities so that hospital administration and management are even better.

Abstract

Bad habits are repetitive actions that typically cease on their own in children under six years old. However, if these habits persist beyond the age of six, they can lead to abnormalities in the dentofacial structure such as malocclusion, facial deformities, and palatal shape irregularities. Knowledge about children's bad habits is crucial for parents as it directly impacts the development and growth of their child's healthy teeth. Insufficient parental knowledge about these habits, if repeated, can result in oral cavity abnormalities in children, which can affect dentofacial functions including speech, tooth occlusion, chewing, swallowing, and aesthetics. Good parental knowledge about the negative impacts of bad habits is essential for parents to take necessary preventive measures. This study aimed to determine the influence of parental knowledge on bad habits in the oral cavity of children aged 712 years in public elementary schools in Cimahi City. The research design used was analytical observational with a cross-sectional approach. The study involved 317 parents of children aged 7-12 years attending public elementary schools in Cimahi City. Data collection was conducted through a 39-item questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The research findings showed that the correlation coefficient with a significance value (p sig) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that there is a correlation between parental knowledge (X) and bad habits in the oral cavity of children (Y). There is an influence of parental knowledge on bad habits in the oral cavity of children aged 7-12 years in Cimahi City.

Abstract

Premature babies are susceptible to various health complications due to immaturity of the organ system, so they need intensive care, namely NICU. Babies will experience pain due to invasive procedures. This pain can be treated with non-pharmacological methods, namely Non-Nutritive Sucking (NNS) in the form of pacifiers. This study aims to determine the effect of pacifier use (non-nutritive sucking) on pain intensity in premature babies who have an IV in the NICU and Perina Alia Hospital Jakarta. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a post-test-only non-equivalent control group approach. The study sample consisted of 34 respondents divided into intervention and control groups, each with 17 respondents. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The pain scale measurement instrument used NIPS (Neonatal Infant Scale). The average pain intensity of the intervention group was 1.65 and the control group was 4.24. Data analysis used the independent T-test. The results of the study obtained a p value = 0.001 (a <0.05) meaning that there is an effect of pacifier use (Non- Nutritive Sucking) on pain intensity in premature infants who underwent IV in the NICU and Perina Alia Hospital Jakarta. Pacifiers are recommended as an independent nursing intervention in reducing pain intensity in infants who underwent IV.
