Abstract

Breast cancer is a severe health problem due to its increasing number (20%) per year, and is the number one cause of death compared to cervical cancer. The prevention and finding of breast cancer at an early stage is an important effort because, in addition to freeing women from the incidence of breast cancer, it suppresses relatively expensive treatment costs. Early detection of breast cancer can be conducted by breast self-examination (SADARI) because by conducting SADARI, it can be recognized whether there is a tumor or abnormality in the breast. SADARI is the most effective and efficient method to detect breast cancer at an early stage. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education on WUS's knowledge and attitudes toward early detection of breast cancer (SADARI). The subjects in this study were WUS (Wanita Usia Subur) in the working area of the Sukaraja Health Center who met the inclusion criteria and by the signing of an informed consent sheet, totaling 30 people with inclusion criteria: not having breast cancer, married, age between 20-40 years. The research method used was a quasi-experiment using a pre-post-test design approach. Research subjects were given an intervention in the form of health education on early detection of breast cancer (SADARI). The results showed an increase in knowledge and attitudes of WUS after being given health education. This study concludes that there is an effect of health education on the knowledge and attitudes of WUS about early detection of breast cancer (SADARI).

Abstract

Uric acid, or gout, is a form of inflammatory arthritis caused by the accumulation of monosodium urate crystals in the joints. This buildup occurs due to increased uric acid levels in the blood (hyperuricemia), which can result from excessive uric acid production or inefficient excretion through the kidneys. This study aims to determine the relationship between elderly knowledge and the incidence of gout in Blangreuling Village. The research employs a cross-sectional design and involves elderly individuals in Blangreuling Village. The total population consists of 36 people, with the sample also comprising 36 individuals using a total sampling technique. Data was collected through questionnaires and secondary data, then analyzed using descriptive analysis to identify the relationship between elderly knowledge and gout incidence. The study results show that 22 elderly individuals (61.11%) have good knowledge, while 14 individuals (38.88%) have less knowledge. Additionally, 20 elderly individuals (55.55%) were diagnosed with gout. Bivariate analysis results indicate a significant relationship between knowledge and gout incidence (p < 0.05). This study is expected to contribute to a better understanding of gout among the elderly in rural communities and inform targeted public health interventions, as well as the development of effective prevention and management strategies for gout in the elderly population of Blangreuling Village.

Abstract

Early childhood is a golden period of physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth and development. During this period, optimal stimulation is required so that children's potential can develop and flourish to the full. Early childhood development focuses on cognitive and physical-motor aspects.  Cognitive linguistics is concerned with how humans think when they speak, and how they speak when they think about something.  Syntaxic studies the organization and relationship between words and words, or between words and larger units, or between larger units in language. Syntaxic ability is problematic because linguistic cognitive ability is problematic. Indeed, syntaxic and cognitive linguistic ability are linked to the way human beings process language. The impact of a syntaxic ability problem is the construction of incoherent, ungrammatical and inefficient sentences. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between linguistic cognitive ability and syntaxic ability.  This research method is cross sectional study. The sample for this study consisted of 59 early childhood.  Data analysis was carried out using the Spearman Rank method.  The results of the analysis obtained a significant value (p-value) of 0.000. The significant value of the test is less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), which means that there is a significant relationship between linguistic cognitive ability and syntaxic ability of early childhood in Surakarta

Abstract

Electrolyte disorders such as sodium, potassium, and calcium are often associated with hypertension in pregnancy, especially in the late trimester. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between electrolyte levels that deviate from normal and pregnancy hypertension. Using a hospital-based cross-sectional design, the study involved 42 pregnant women with a minimum gestational age of 37 weeks who underwent antenatal care at the hospital. Blood pressure measurements and serum electrolyte analysis were performed at the same visit. The data showed that 59.5% of respondents experienced gestational hypertension, with an abnormal prevalence of sodium and potassium levels associated with hypertension. The analysis showed no ions showed a statistically significant association with hypertension in pregnancy. In retrospect, women with hypokaloids had a 1.921 times higher chance of developing hypertension in pregnancy compared to women with normocalium (OR = 1.921[0.441-8.365], p value = 0.385), while women with hyperchloride had a 2.515 times lower chance of developing hypertension in pregnancy compared to women with normocchloride (OR = 2.515 [0.544-11.632], p value = 0.238). These findings emphasize the importance of close monitoring of electrolytes in pregnant women at risk of hypertension to prevent complications.
