KAISA is open access and peer-reviewed journal in the fields of Education and Learning published by the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training of STAIN Bengkalis, Indonesia. The publication of an article in KAISA is an essential building block in the development of a respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. KAISA journal published two times a year in the following months: March and September. Each issue consists of nine (9) articles and therefore every volume has eighteen (18) articles. The focus of KAISA is to provide scientific articles on Education and Learning that developed in attendance through academic articles, critical statements on current issues, developmental practice, action. KAISA journal welcomes papers from academicians on education and learning, curriculum and teaching methodology, technology in education, educational psychology, management, and leadership education, childhood education, chemistry education, distance education, language education, mathematics education, and vocational education.

Abstract

This study discusses extracurricular activities at SMPN 04 Bantan, focusing on religious extracurricular activities in shaping students' religious character. This extracurricular activity can also hone students' abilities according to their interests, not only in academic fields but also in non-academic fields. The researcher focuses on the religious field, namely rohis. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of extracurricular activities in shaping students' character, supporting factors, and to determine the inhibiting factors in the implementation of extracurricular activities in shaping students' character. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with research instruments in the form of observation guidelines, interviews, and documentation. Data processing and analysis used in this study include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study regarding the implementation of extracurricular activities at SMPN 04 Bantan are quite good. This activity is supported by the principal and is well scheduled by the vice principal for curriculum. Supporting factors for extracurricular activities at SMPN 04 Bantan include the cohesiveness of teachers at school and the enthusiasm and discipline of students in carrying them out. However, there are several inhibiting factors, such as inadequate infrastructure, for example a small prayer room so that prayers have to be performed in turns.   Penelitian ini membahas tentang ekstrakurikuler di SMPN 04 Bantan, dengan fokus pada ekstrakurikuler keagamaan rohis dalam membentuk karakter religius siswa. Ekstrakurikuler ini juga dapat mengasah kemampuan siswa sesuai dengan minat mereka, tidak hanya dalam bidang akademik tetapi juga dalam bidang non-akademik. Peneliti memfokuskan pada bidang keagamaan, yaitu rohis. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui implementasi kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dalam membentuk karakter siswa, faktor pendukung, serta mengetahui faktor penghambat implementasi kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dalam membentuk karakter siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan instrumen penelitian berupa pedoman observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Pengolahan dan analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian mengenai implementasi kegiatan ekstrakurikuler di SMPN 04 Bantan terbilang cukup baik. Kegiatan ini didukung oleh kepala sekolah dan terjadwal dengan baik oleh wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum. Faktor pendukung ekstrakurikuler di SMPN 04 Bantan antara lain adalah kekompakan guru-guru di sekolah serta antusiasme dan kedisiplinan siswa dalam menjalankannya. Namun, terdapat beberapa faktor penghambat, seperti prasarana yang kurang memadai, contohnya musholla yang kecil sehingga harus dilakukan sholat bergiliran.

Abstract

This type of research is descriptive qualitative, and uses field research. The data source forthis research is the female students of dormitory I at the Bequranic Bengkalis Islamic BoardingSchool, which consists of 111 female students. Furthermore, data collection in this research usedsystematic sampling techniques and the results of data collection in this research were analyzedusing qualitative data analysis techniques. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded thatthe results of this research are in accordance with the problem formulation, namely the role ofdormitory supervisors in improving discipline in dormitory I of the Bequranic Bengkalis Islamicboarding school, the results of this research show. That the role of dormitory supervisors inimproving the discipline of female students is very important. As well as the existence of dormitorysupervisors as second parents in improving student discipline, the methods in this research include:advice method, example method, and habituation method. The obstacles experienced by dormitorysupervisors in improving the discipline of female students are a lack of maximum cooperationbetween parents and dormitory supervisors, a lack of motivation and enthusiasm for female studentsin studying, and less intensive supervision of regulations. Meanwhile, the solution taken by thedormitory supervisors to improve female students' discipline is that the dormitory supervisorscollaborate with the parents of the female students, providing advice and role models to the femalestudents. Abstract

Viewed from the behavioral aspect, adolescence is an age where there will be many rapid changes, especially early adolescence. This age is the beginning of the child towards adulthood, so the child is still counted as very labile in solving every problem that occurs at his age. So that the role of parents is needed significantly in fostering children in early adolescence so that later children are able to become productive and characterful adults. The method used in this research is a literature review (library research) by collecting reference sources related to the title of the study. From this study, it can be concluded that there are several important roles that become parents' efforts in educating children in early adolescence, namely by being a good role model to children, rewarding achievements and giving appropriate punishment if children make mistakes, communicating well openly and applying good habits in the family environment. Abstract

Supervision is one of the important things that must be done in education. The important role of supervision that focuses on the principles and objectives in Islamic education is increasingly significant in the face of dynamic changes in the world of education that continues to grow. This study aims to examine what is meant by supervision and supervision and its principles in the context of Islamic education to the objectives of educational supervision. The method used in this research is using Literature Review study or literature review by using data collection techniques in the form of quotations from various sources, such as books, scientific journal articles. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis to detail and describe the relevant findings from the literature reviewed. The results show that the study of the principles of supervision in the context of education is as follows: (1) Scientific Principles, (2) Deliberative Principles, (3) Cooperative Principles, (4) Constructive Principles, (5) Principles of Responsibility, (6) Principles of Prudence in Decision Making. The targets of supervision and supervision in education are carried out in order to improve the quality of the learning process which includes: (1) Curriculum Development and Guidance, (2) Learning Improvement and Refinement, and, (3) Teacher and School Staff Resource Development.

Abstract

The research entitled "Effectiveness of Girls' Extracurriculars Improving the Understanding of Women's Jurisprudence among Female Students of SMA Negeri 9 Medan", which the background is that adolescence is the beginning of a Muslim obliged to comply with Islamic law. Female students must understand obligations and responsibilities answer as a Muslim woman. So educational institutions have programs helping female students in this matter, namely extracurricular girlhood. This research uses a qualitative research method, case study type. The data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research are (1) Extracurricular planning for inner women's affairs Increasing women's understanding of jurisprudence includes: a) setting goals, namely to increase female students' understanding of women's jurisprudence. b) plan material, namely menstruation, istihadah, postpartum, women's private parts, Muslim women's clothing. c) determine strategies and methods, namely expository strategy, lecture method and question and answer. d) development of learning resources. (2) Princesses are performed on Fridays at 11.30. (3) The evaluation used is evaluation of description tests, assignments and oral test. Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the project based learning model on educational statistics. This type of research is experimental research with a total sampling model. The sample in this study consisted of 30 students with One Group Pretest-Posttest. Data analysis used the average value of pretest (before learning) and posttest (after learning) learning outcomes in the research class and compared the average learning outcomes before and after learning with the project based learning model. Data was obtained from respondents by giving written test questions (essays). The research results show that there is a significant influence on the average student learning outcomes after learning with the project based learning model in learning educational statistics courses. Students have a positive perspective on the application of the project based learning model in learning, apart from that students believe that the projects/assignments they work on help them understand lecture material, increase motivation in learning outcomes and trigger ideas and creative thinking in solving problems so that they get good results in the projects they work on.

Abstract

Indonesia possesses a rich in natural resources, including the presence of various endemic bird species. However, there endemic birds are currently facinng serious threats due to widespread habitat destruction and illegal wildlife trade. This condition necessitates increased public attention and awareness from an early age. To foster such awareness, it is necessary to develop educational media that are attractive and aligned with children’s interest. This study aims to design characters for an educational board game with the theme of conserving and introducing endemic birds, targeted at children age 13-15 years. The method used in this study are qualitative annd quantitative. The study resulted in the creation of four main characters, Pak Damar (Forest Ranger), Mbak Rani (Bird Researcher), Mas Budi (Environmental Activist), and Dokter Tari (Wildlife Veterinarian), each design based on children’s visual preferences. The characters developed for this board game are expected to provide an enjoyable learninng experience while enhancinng early awareness of endemic bird conservation among young audiences.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an e-book based on the Heyzine Flipbook called “WASIBASUL” (Insight into the Obligatory Nature for the Prophet) as an interactive learning medium for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects in grade 2 of elementary school. This e-book is designed to increase students’ interest and motivation to learn through multimedia features, such as audio, video, images, inspirational stories, and interactive quizzes. This research uses the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) development model, which involves analyzing student needs, designing e-book content, developing using digital platforms, such as Canva and Heyzine Flipbook, as well as implementation and evaluation of products. The results of validation by media and material experts, and student questionnaires show that this e-book “WASIBASUL” is very feasible and shows at 95% - 100 % in all indicators. The implementation at SD Negeri Cilangkap II, shows that this e-book can be said to be said to be effective in increasing student involvement and understanding of the material that is mandatory for the Prophet. This research contributes to digital- based learning media innovations that are very relevant to the current technological era, as well as supporting digital literacy in education.

Abstract

This study emphasizes the significance of learning and evaluation processes in enhancing students' writing skills at the senior high school level. Learning is viewed as an interactive system between teachers and students, supported by continuous practice and exercises. Techniques such as idea development and mind mapping are employed by teachers to facilitate effective planning of writing tasks. Various assessment methods, including group assignments, individual tasks, and formative evaluations, are utilized to comprehensively measure students' writing abilities. Conducted at SMA N 5 Tarakan through interviews, the research reveals teachers' strategies in overcoming students' difficulties and monitoring their progress. The findings suggest that the application of idea development techniques and diverse evaluation approaches can significantly improve students' writing skills.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed at improving the learning outcomes of Grade V students by implementing the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach in the Mathematics subject at SD 3 Jati Wetan. The research was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the study were eight Grade V students, consisting of four boys and four girls. The object of the study was the improvement of students' understanding of data concepts through the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative data analysis. The cognitive learning outcomes of the students in mathematics showed a significant improvement from the observed (12 %), Cycle I (50%), to Cycle II (88%). Based on the results of the classroom action research, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach assisted by Data Dice media effectively improved students' learning outcomes in Mathematics
