KAISA is open access and peer-reviewed journal in the fields of Education and Learning published by the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training of STAIN Bengkalis, Indonesia. The publication of an article in KAISA is an essential building block in the development of a respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. KAISA journal published two times a year in the following months: March and September. Each issue consists of nine (9) articles and therefore every volume has eighteen (18) articles. The focus of KAISA is to provide scientific articles on Education and Learning that developed in attendance through academic articles, critical statements on current issues, developmental practice, action. KAISA journal welcomes papers from academicians on education and learning, curriculum and teaching methodology, technology in education, educational psychology, management, and leadership education, childhood education, chemistry education, distance education, language education, mathematics education, and vocational education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate a flipbook-based e-module integrated with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach to enhance high school students' mathematical communication skills in scatter plot material. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Plomp model, the study consisted of three stages: preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment. The subjects were 11th-grade students (class XI.4) at SMAN 5 Jember. Validation results from experts showed that the e-module was highly valid, with a score of 88.75%. Practicality tests via teacher and student questionnaires yielded an average score of 90%, indicating that the module is highly practical for classroom use. Effectiveness was measured by comparing pretest and posttest scores, revealing an average N-Gain of 0.54 (moderate category). The findings demonstrate that the developed PBL-based flipbook e-module is feasible, practical, and effective for implementation in learning, significantly improving students' mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

This classroom action research used a mixed-methods approach to analyze the influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the vector concept understanding of class XI students. The quantitative analysis showed that the implementation of PBL resulted in an increase in the average student understanding score from the pre-test to the post-test in each research cycle. A significant increase in learning outcomes was observed in Cycle 2, where the average score increased from 63.70 to 81.50. However, the effectiveness of PBL decreased in Cycle 3, reflected in the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) value returning to a low level (0.27) and a smaller increase in the learning success rate compared to the previous cycle (an increase from 30% to 55%). Overall, the PBL model proved effective in improving students' conceptual understanding of vectors, the ability to apply concepts in problem-solving, and students' mathematical communication skills. However, the research findings also identified that the PBL model was less effective in improving students' understanding and skills in drawing vectors, indicating the need for adjustments in learning strategies for this specific aspect.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between interest in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI), the perspective of the school environment, and the discipline of worship of students at SMK Masmur Pekanbaru. The background of this study is based on the importance of religious education and the support of the school environment in shaping students' religious character, especially in terms of discipline in worship. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlation method. The population in this study was all students in grades X and XI of SMK Masmur Pekanbaru, with a sample of 40 respondents taken through the purposive sampling technique. The instrument used is a closed questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data analysis was carried out by partial correlation tests and multiple linear regression to determine the simultaneous and partial relationship between variables. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between interest in learning PAI and the perspective of the school environment on the discipline of student worship. Interest in learning PAI and a conducive school environment jointly contribute to improving the discipline of worship among students. This finding confirms the important role of religious education and the school environment in shaping students' religious attitudes.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning outcomes in the Informatics subject through the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) supported by the Quizizz media. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) referring to the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of two cycles. Each cycle includes planning, action implementation with observation, and reflection. The research subjects involved 27 students. Data were collected using observation techniques as well as pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed an improvement in students' learning outcomes at each cycle stage. In the first cycle, students scoring ≥80 increased from 52.38% to 61.90%, while students scoring <60 decreased from 23.81% to 14.29%. In the second cycle, after improvements such as anticipating network issues by utilizing students' personal devices, rescheduling quiz sessions, applying a blended learning approach, and deepening the understanding of problems using more relevant case studies related to students' daily lives, a significant improvement was recorded: all students (100%) scored ≥80, and no students scored <60. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the PBL model supported by Quizizz is effective in enhancing students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

Puisi memiliki peran penting dalam pengajaran bahasa, terutama dalam konteks bahasa Arab, di mana keindahan, makna, dan nuansa budaya bersatu. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi kontribusi puisi Naguib Mahfouz sebagai sarana untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi. Melalui analisis puisi yang puitis dan simbolis, mahasiswa diajak untuk menggali makna yang lebih dalam dari setiap kata, mengaitkan konsep harapan, kesunyian, dan pencarian identitas dalam konteks sosial-budaya Arab. Proses "dari kata ke makna" terlihat pada bagaimana mahasiswa tidak hanya memperluas kosakata mereka tetapi juga mengembangkan kemampuan analisis, berbicara, dan menulis dalam bahasa Arab. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa puisi, sebagai alat pendidikan, meningkatkan keterlibatan emosional dan intelektual mahasiswa, mendorong mereka untuk terhubung dengan teks dan budaya Arab secara lebih substansial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk memahami secara mendalam kontribusi puisi-puisi Naguib Mahfouz terhadap peningkatan keterampilan bahasa mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya integrasi sastra dalam kurikulum bahasa Arab, dan bagaimana puisi Mahfouz dapat menjadi jembatan dalam memahami dan menguasai bahasa serta makna yang terkandung di dalamnya. Artikel ini diharapkan berkontribusi pada pengembangan metode pembelajaran bahasa yang inovatif, khususnya melalui sastra. Rekomendasi strategis meliputi integrasi puisi Mahfouz dalam kurikulum, pelatihan guru dalam analisis sastra, dan pengembangan materi ajar berbasis teks sastra. Dengan memanfaatkan kekayaan sastra Arab modern, terutama karya Naguib Mahfouz, institusi pendidikan dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih inspiratif dan efektif untuk penguasaan bahasa mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the development of child-friendly learning media in the context of informal education at the elementary school level. The background of this study is based on the need for learning media that not only supports cognitive aspects but also considers the emotional and social comfort of children in a flexible and non-formal learning process. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review design by tracing various reputable international journal articles published in the last ten years. The analysis procedure was carried out through the stages of identification, selection, and synthesis of data to find patterns and trends in the development of child-friendly learning media in informal education environments. The results of the study show that effective learning media in this context generally have interactive characteristics, are adaptive to children's needs, and support game-based and experiential learning. This study emphasizes the importance of a humanistic and creative approach in designing learning media that is appropriate for the world of children outside the formal classroom. These findings are expected to form the basis for the development of more inclusive and sustainable learning media innovations
