Abstract

ABSTRACTThe 21st century requires graduates of education to have good and holistic competence. For this reason, the Indonesian government has implemented the 2013 curriculum so that graduates of education are able to compete in the 21st century. The teaching science in the 2013 curriculum should be implemented in an integrated form and be integrated the literacy skills. The results of the initial study that have been conducted indicate that integrated Science teaching cant be implemented well and literacy skills of students were still weak. The solution to this problem is to develop an integrated Science student worksheet with scientific literacy. The purpose of this research was to describe the results of the initial study and determine the value of the validity of the integrated Science student worksheet on the theme of the role of energy for living things with scientific literacy. This type of research was research and development (R & D). The object of the research was the integrated Science student worksheet on theme of the role of energy for living things with scientific literacy. The instruments for collecting data consist of observation sheet, document analysis, interview sheet, and questionnaire sheet for validity test. The components of validity assessment include the content feasibility, presentation, language, and graphics. The data analysis technique was descriptive statistics. From the data analysis, the result of this research can be stated in two parts. First, the integration of science learning material in the teaching process and in student worksheet was insufficient and low category respectively. Literacy integration in science teaching was still limited in the form of reading skills. Second, the average value of validity from integrated science student worksheet on the theme the role of energy for living things with scientific literacy is 84 and this average value can be classified into a very good category.

Abstract

The physic competence achievement of SMA Negeri 7 Padang students still does not meet the expectation. The use of LKPD oriented on Bloom’s taxonomy revision with the implementation of scientific approach is believed to be effective to reach the expected physic competence of the students. This research is aimed to analyze the effect of using LKPD oriented on Bloom’s taxonomy revision with the implementation of scientific approach setting toward physic competence achievement of grade X students of SMA Negeri 7 Padang.Type of research is quasi experiment with Posttest Only Control Group Design. The study population was all students of class X MIA at SMAN 7 Padang enrolled in the Academic Year 2016/2017. Sampling was done by cluster sampling technique. Samples were class X MIA 1 as the control class and class X MIA 4 as an experimental class with a number of sample members of each class is 31 people. This research data includes data competence of attitudes, knowledge, and skills. Data were analyzed using the equality test two averages (t test), simple linear regression and correlation tests on the real level of 0.05 to the competence of knowledge, using the equality test two averages (t test) for competency skills, attitude and competencies using trend graphs change in attitude.The results of data analysis the average attainment of experimental class attitude at 79.15 is higher than the average grade of control that is equal to 77.2. On average the attainment of knowledge of the experimental class of 79 is higher than the average grade control is 75. The average achievement experimental class skill competencies of 83.3 is higher than the average grade of control that is 77.5. The test results of data analysis concluded that the LKPD oriented on Bloom’s taxonomy revision  in setting the scientific approach can improve the competence of Physics students of class X SMAN 7 Padang. Great influence exerted LKPD oriented on Bloom’s taxonomy revision to the attainment of knowledge of students by 72.25%.

Abstract

Achievement of student physics competence in SMAN 7 Padang is still not maximal. The lack of competence is caused by several factors, these are the lack of student activeness during the lesson, less learning to apply the Physics concept, the limited availability of textbooks, the teaching materials used are not yet optimal in associating Physics with other knowledge and less varied methods. One solution to solve the problem is to apply teaching materials to integrate other Science Mathematics Disaster and Character Technology (MSTBK) by using Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in learning. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of teaching materials to integrate other Science Mathematics of Disaster and Character Technology (MSTBK) using Problem Based Learning (PBL) model to the achievement of Physics Competency of grade X SMAN 7 Padang students. The type of this research is a quasi experiment with Posttest-Only Control Group Design research design. The population of the study was students of class X MIA SMAN 7 Padang registered in academic year 2016/2017. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. Analysis of the data for the knowledge competency test of equality of two average and split-plot analysis of variance (spanava) with graphs for competence attitudes and skills.Based on data analysis that has been done, got result for each student competence as follows: first, at attitude competence obtained fh = 2,41 and ft = 4,75 and skill competence obtained fh = 4,1 and ft = 7,17. This means that teaching materials integrating other Science Mathematics of Disaster and Character Technology (MSTBK) in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model does not have a significant effect on students' attitude and skill competencies. Second, the knowledge competence obtained th = 2.12 and tt = 2.00. Based on the data analysis, it is found that there is a significant influence on the use of teaching materials to integrate other Science Mathematics of Disaster and Character Technology (MSTBK) in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model to the achievement of Physics knowledge competency of grade X students SMAN 7 Padang

Abstract

This study is based on facts on the ground in general, one of which students are less develop problem solving skills and develop science process skills in physics. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application modules in discovery learning physics learning on learning outcomes of students of class X of SMAN 1 Kubung Kabupaten Solok. Moreover, it can increase the motivation and creativity of students in learning and apply it in everyday life. This study is a kind of quasi-experimental design with randomized control group only design. Population is a class X of SMAN 1 Kubung Kabupaten Solok registered in the 1st 2014/2015 academic year. Sampling used random cluster sampling technique. Samples are Xipa2 class as a class control and Xipa1 class as a class experiment. The research data is the result of learning on aspects of knowledge, attitudes and skills. The research instrument was the final test, observation and performance assessment sheet.Based on data analysis of learning outcomes on average in the aspect of knowledge is 79.23 to 74.67 for the experimental class and control class. In the aspect of attitude is 82.17 to 78.11 for the experimental class and control class. Furthermore, in the aspect of the skills acquired 76.93 to 74.11 for the experimental class and control class. After the t test for two sample groups on aspects of knowledge gained t = 1.86 is greater than table = 1.67. In the aspect of attitude obtained t = 3.15 is greater than 1.67 and table =. in the aspect of skills obtained t = 1.68 is greater than table = 1.67. Conclusion of the study is the hypothesis that there is a significant impact on the use of the module in the learning discovery learning on learning outcomes of physics in the first half of the tenth grade high school SMAN 1 Kubung Kabupaten Solok can be accepted on the real level of 0.05

Abstract

This research aims to determine the availability of critical thinking skills indicators in physics textbooks for grade X semester one high-school physics used in Padang. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data population in this study was all physics textbooks for Grade X semester 1 used in senior high schools in Padang. The research sample is the three physics textbooks that are most widely used in senior high schools in Padang. The data in this study were taken using critical thinking indicator analysis instruments in physics textbooks for grade X SMA with data collection techniques through documentation studies. Based on the results of the analysis of critical thinking skills indicators in the physics textbook for grade X semester 1, it was found that the physics textbook written by Marthen Kanginan published by Erlangga has the highest level of availability of critical thinking skills indicators with a percentage of 51.6% in the available category. In contrast, physics textbooks written by Aris Prasetyo Nugroho et al. and published by Mediatama have the lowest availability of critical thinking skills indicators with 29.6% with the less available category.

Abstract

Education in the 21st century is intended to create people who have the knowledge and skills to survive in the globalization era. Integrated science teaching in the 2013 curriculum should be implemented in an integrated form, including Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. Integration in science teaching is intended to make teaching more meaningful, practical, and realistic, so that it can improve the learning outcomes of students. However, the implementation of integrated science teaching was not in accordance with the expected condition. The solution to the problem was to use integrated science teaching material with scientific literacy. The objective of the research was to investigate the effect of the use of the integrated science teaching material with scientific literacy on the theme of the use of pressure in the scientific approach to the learning outcomes of class VIII SMPN 31 Padang. This type of research was a quasi-experimental research with a before and after design. The research population was all class VIII students of SMPN 31 Padang in academic Year 2018/2019. By using a purposive sampling technique, it was obtained class VIII 5 students as the research sample. The research instrument consisted of a multiple choice written test sheet to assess knowledge, a performance assessment sheet for assessing skills, and an observation sheet to assess attitudes of students. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, and paired comparison test. Based on the result of data analysis, it can be stated that the use of Integrated science teaching material with scientific literacy has a significant difference in learning outcomes of students between before and after they used it on the theme of the use of pressure in class VIII of SMPN 31 Padang. This difference in learning outcomes indicated that the use of integrated science teaching material with scientific literacy on the theme of the use of pressure has a significant effect on the three aspects of learning outcomes of students, including knowledge in scientific contexts and scientific concepts of literacy, scientific processes of literacy, and attitude of students.

Abstract

Abstract - This study aimed to investigate the differences in physical competencies through portfolio assessment of the teaching between groups and individual creative-productive model with the eighth grade students in SMP 25 Padang. Type of research is quasi-experimental with the study design randomized control group only design. Sampling was conducted using cluster random sampling technique. The competence data collected by using portfolios, pencil and paper test, observation sheets attitudes and performance scoring rubric. The data analysis technique competency in pencil and paper test and portfolio is two equality average test (t test) at the level 0.05, while for the attitude and performance by calculating the average value of each indicator of competence. Based on the results obtained are significant difference in the competence of science Physics through portfolio assessment of the teaching between groups and individual creative-productive model with the eighth grade students in SMP 25 Padang. The results of t-test analysis of the written test, obtained thitung = 2.103 and ttable = 2.00 at real level of 0.05. The results of t-test analysis of the portfolio, acquired thitung = 1.38 and ttable = 2.00. In the assessment of attitudes and performance appraisal average values ​​obtained experimental class 1 higher than the experimental class 2. Abstract

In developing countries, a teacher must be active and creative role in improving the quality of education, one of them by increasing the motivation of students to learn. This study discusses the use of virtual media in learning physics laboratory on the momentum of the material and simple harmonic motion to the results of class X student of SMAN 2 Pariaman. The purpose of this study is to describe the process improvement and learning skills of students using tracker software on  momentum materials and simple harmonic motion class X SMAN2 Pariaman. This type of research is (pre-experimental desing) which in this study there are external variables that influence the formation of the dependent variable. The subjects were students of class X SMAN2 Pariaman, totaling 30 people. The research was conducted in three cycles comprising the steps of (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) completion. Data collected there are 2, namely the non-test and test data. Non-test Data obtained from the observation and assessment rubrics, while the test data in the form of post-test given to students. Based on the results of research carried out can be concluded the following points. First, using media tracker software in the process of learning can increase student motivation in learning physics. It can be seen from the improvement of student learning outcomes while studying physics using tracker software. The second study using this software can be used by students in learning physics student records must try to try to use the software independently. This can be evidenced by the influence gained by 25.7% in the same direction, and significant for knowledge and competence 11.5% in the same direction for competency skills.

Abstract

Students’ achievement by second grade of SMA 13 Padang will be optimum if the teacher use a learning model that can assure students towards their ability in learning. One of learning model that can be used is Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, and Satisfaction (ARIAS) which learning materials have character values in it. This research aims to research the impact of ARIAS learning model which have character values towards competence of the second grade students SMAN 13 Padang. This research used Quasi Experiment Research with Randomized Control Group Only Design. The sample in this research was taken by Purposive Sampling Technique. The instruments of this research were observation sheet for behavior competence, writing test for knowledge competence, and rubric score for skill competence. The hypothesis was tested by using Chi Square test for the behavior and skill competences; meanwhile t-test was used to test the knowledge competence. The results revealed that ARIAS learning model can increase students’ competences of second grade at SMAN 13 Padang in behavior and skill competences, but this model did not give impact for skill competence, with significance level 0.05

Abstract

Science Process Skills (KPS) are skills that facilitate learners discover facts, determine concepts and apply theories in everyday life. Textbooks are one of the learning resources that can be used. Textbooks used in high schools in West Sumatra are very diverse, and the level of KPS presentation is unknown. This study aims to determine the level of KPS presentation in Physics textbooks used by high schools in West Sumatra. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The study population is all Physics textbooks for Class XI Semester 1 published in Indonesia and used in West Sumatra. The research sample is the four most used books in West Sumatra High School, three of which are recommended by the government. The research instrument used was very valid. Data collection technique used is the study of documents. Data analysis technique used content study. The results were obtained that the book used as a reference for learning Physics in Class XI High School Semester 1 has facilitated observational skills indicators, but has not yet facilitated the skill indicators of asking questions.
