Abstract

Educators hope that Israel and the Gaza Strip’s experience during the corona-virus pandemic will make the management of education and learning during the current Israeli-Hamas war a little easier as education systems grapple with trauma amongst teachers and learners, on both sides of the divide. It is not clear how long this situation will last, but it definitely means putting on hold the traditional scheduled educational programmes and progress, in most instances, in favour of online and hybrid make-shift educational programmes with the hope that normalcy returns soon. In times of crisis, ideally, the population of learners affected by the crisis need clear directives and frameworks coupled with caring and sensitive teachers and frequent in-person and hybrid meetings amongst teachers and learners to provide re-assurance and hope. Notably, the main dynamic during war is the learners’ constant fear of attacks to them or their families as uncertainty looms large. This fear leads to anxiety, thereby adversely impacting the learners’ mental well-being. This paper, thus, discusses educational situation with regard to Israel, Gaza and to a limited extent, the USA, in light of the latest Israeli–Hamas conflict that began on October the 7th, 2023, following a Hamas attack on Israeli civilians leading to retaliatory attacks from Israel. Accordingly, the main impacts of the war are disruption of education systems and structures, shift to remote learning, psychological trauma and insecurity and fear amongst learners.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: This study aims to analyze and compare existing literature on pragmatic and idealistic leadership, specifically examining the differences between these leadership styles within organizations. The goal is to develop a more comprehensive understanding of these two approaches and how they contrast with one another. Background Problems: The research may face background challenges due to inadequate understanding of the differences between pragmatic and idealistic leadership, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each style. Moreover, it may be necessary to investigate the perceptions of various stakeholders such as followers, peers, and superiors towards these leadership styles. Novelty: Prior research has predominantly examined these leadership styles in isolation ; however, this study seeks to present a more comprehensive analysis by exploring both their distinctions and commonalities. Research Methods: A Systematic Literature Review is expected to include an analysis of existing studies sourced from five reputable journals indexed in the scopus database. Finding/Results: Pragmatic leadership is flexible and adaptable, emphasizing context-dependent approaches that prioritize relationships within a community. Ideological leadership, on the other hand, involves leaders who have a strong belief in a particular ideology or set of values that guide their decision-making and actions. Conclusion: the articles suggest that modern leaders need to be both pragmatic and idealistic to succeed. They should have a strong belief in their vision or set of values while also being flexible and adaptable to the current situation.

Abstract

This study examines Indonesia's educational curriculum policies in adapting to the 5.0 Era and preparing for the transition to the 6.0 Era. Employing qualitative methods, including interviews with educators, policymakers, and academics alongside a comprehensive literature review, the research identifies key trends, challenges, and opportunities in curriculum development. The findings emphasize the need for integrating advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence and big data, and strengthening 21st-century skills, including critical thinking and creativity. However, significant challenges, such as infrastructure gaps and limited teacher training, hinder effective implementation. The study underscores the importance of a flexible and adaptive curriculum design, incorporating sustainability and digital literacy while advocating for cross-sector collaboration to bridge existing gaps. These results highlight strategic pathways to create an education system that is innovative, inclusive, and future-ready, addressing global demands while retaining local relevance. This research contributes valuable insights for policymakers and educators in designing curricula that prepare students for the complexities of the 6.0 Era.

Abstract

Sharia-based wealth management is increasingly important in the context of global finance that demands a fair and ethical approach. This article aims to explore the application of sharia principles in wealth management, with a focus on the challenges and opportunities faced in practice. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection through interviews and observations in Islamic financial institutions to understand how these principles are applied in day-to-day operations. The data used include interviews with financial institution managers, customers, and sharia experts, as well as document analysis related to wealth management policies and practices. The results of the study indicate that although Islamic financial institutions have great potential to improve community welfare through ethical wealth management, they still face various challenges in implementing sharia principles consistently. Interesting findings from this study indicate that the lack of understanding of sharia financial products among the community is a major obstacle. In addition, inconsistent regulations also reduce the effectiveness of the application of sharia principles in practice. The implications of this study indicate the need to improve sharia financial literacy among the community and develop clearer regulations to support the growth of this sector.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become a mandatory practice for companies, including those in the palm oil industry, which plays a significant role in the global economy. However, inconsistent accounting treatments for CSR expenditures have raised challenges in achieving transparency and accountability. This study examines the variations in CSR accounting practices among palm oil companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and their implications for financial transparency, stakeholder trust, and corporate sustainability. The findings reveal that companies adopt diverse approaches to reporting CSR expenditures, treating them as operating expenses, tax-related costs, or long-term investments. While some companies integrate CSR into sustainability initiatives aligned with global standards like ISPO and RSPO, others treat CSR as a compliance obligation. This inconsistency underscores the absence of explicit accounting standards for CSR, creating challenges for investors, auditors, and policymakers in assessing the impact of CSR activities. This study highlights the need for harmonised regulations and standardised CSR reporting practices to enhance financial transparency and accountability. By addressing these gaps, companies can strengthen stakeholder trust, improve corporate reputation, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the palm oil industry.

Abstract

Insurance literacy plays a crucial role in expanding farmers' access to insurance. Lack of understanding of insurance products and inability to process information prevent farmers from making the right decisions, which leads to low levels of insurance participation. This study aims to analyze the level of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of farmers towards insurance and examine the factors that influence farmers' insurance literacy. Data were collected directly from 94 farmer households in four sub-districts in Aceh Besar Regency. This study measured farmers' insurance literacy using a questionnaire and then conducted a regression analysis using the ordinary least squares (OLS) method on variables suspected of influencing insurance literacy. The results of this study indicate that farmers' insurance literacy is sufficient literate. Variables such as gender, age, education level, and main occupation significantly affect farmers' understanding of insurance. The average scores of farmers' knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards insurance were 42.23, 71.36, and 46.28, respectively. Education has a significant impact on farmers' knowledge of insurance. This study suggests that the government and other stakeholders can carry out promotional activities, socialization and training periodically to increase insurance knowledge and awareness.

Data processing in this study uses the help of Smart PLS, with the stages of analysis carried out in this study, namely the outer model including composite stability and cronbach alpha, then the inner model which includes: r-square (r2) and hypothesis testing with t-statistics and indirect effect tests. The results of Smart PLS in this study on the t-statistic test are Cash Flow has no effect on Stock Price, Net Income has an effect on Stock Price, Dividends have an effect on Stock Price, Cash Flow has no effect on Dividends, Net Income has an effect on Dividends, while the results of the path analysis show that Cash Flow has no effect on Stock Price Through Dividends, Net Income has an effect on Stock Price Through Dividends. This indicates that Dividends are a significant mediator in the relationship between Net Income and Stock Price, where higher net income increases dividends, which in turn can increase stock prices. While cash flow does not always reflect the overall performance of the company because its operations are based on sharia principles that avoid usury. Therefore, cash flow fluctuations may not have a significant effect on dividends or investor decisions in assessing stock prices.
