Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have a significant contribution to the Indonesian economy, including in Tanjung Pinang City, which has great potential in the culinary sector. However, MSMEs in this region still face challenges such as low entrepreneurial competency, weak market orientation, suboptimal government support, and varying levels of self-efficacy. This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial competency, market orientation, and government support on the performance of MSMEs in the culinary sector in Tanjung Pinang City, with self-efficacy as an intervening variable. The research approach uses a quantitative method with an explanatory design. The research sample consisted of 291 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique, and data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that entrepreneurial competency, market orientation, and government support have a positive and significant effect on MSME performance, both directly and through self-efficacy as a mediating variable. Self-efficacy is proven to strengthen the relationship between internal and external factors on business performance. These findings underscore the importance of enhancing entrepreneurial capacity, consistently implementing market orientation, and optimizing government support in boosting the performance of MSMEs in the culinary sector. This research provides practical implications for local governments and MSMEs in designing integrated business development strategies, as well as theoretical contributions in expanding the study of the relationship between entrepreneurial competency, market orientation, government support, and self-efficacy in the context of MSMEs in Indonesia.

This research examines the representation of misogynistic ideology in the horror films Pengabdi Setan (2017) and Pengabdi Setan 2: Communion (2022), directed by Joko Anwar, through Ruth Wodak’s Discourse-Historical Approach (DHA) within the framework of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). The study aims to analyze how misogynistic ideologies operate within the narratives of these two films and how they reproduce the patriarchal discourse embedded in Indonesian society. By investigating the male gaze, the research explores how this cinematic technique either reinforces or challenges misogynistic ideologies within the context of patriarchy. Furthermore, the study examines the role of symbolism and visual representation in these films, investigating how these elements are used to either create or resist the ideological framework of misogyny. Through a qualitative approach, CDA’s three key dimensions cognitive, socio-psychological, and linguistic are applied to reveal how gender power dynamics are conveyed through both narrative and visual forms in contemporary Indonesian horror cinema.

This study investigates the determinants of financial distress in companies, emphasizing the roles of good corporate governance, intangible assets, sales growth, leverage, and liquidity. The research aims to provide empirical evidence on how these variables influence a firm’s likelihood of experiencing financial difficulties. A quantitative research approach was adopted, utilizing secondary data from annual reports of publicly listed companies over a defined observation period. Multiple regression analysis was applied to test the hypotheses, supported by classical assumption tests to ensure model validity. The results reveal that the size of the board of directors, the size of the board of commissioners, the presence of an effective audit committee, and managerial ownership significantly contribute to reducing financial distress. Sales growth was also found to have a positive effect on financial stability by strengthening operational performance and debt repayment capacity. Conversely, intangible assets showed no significant impact, while leverage exhibited a negative effect, indicating that debt structure management plays a critical role in distress prevention. Liquidity positively affected the ability to meet short-term obligations, reinforcing its importance in maintaining financial health. Overall, the findings highlight the interplay between governance mechanisms, operational growth, and financial structure in mitigating financial distress.

This study aims to analyze the effect of compensation, workload, and organizational commitment on the performance of non-ASN state high school teachers in Batam City, with achievement motivation as an intervening variable. The background of the study is based on the phenomenon of low performance of some non-ASN teachers as indicated by the increasing proportion of performance assessments in the "sufficient" category from 24.0% in 2023 to 29.5% in 2024, which is thought to be influenced by low compensation, high workload, and weak organizational commitment. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research method. The study population was all 359 non-ASN state high school teachers in Batam City, using a saturated sampling technique. Primary data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire, while secondary data were obtained from official documents of the Riau Islands Provincial Education Office. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to test the direct and indirect effects between variables. The results showed that compensation had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance and achievement motivation. Workload had a negative effect on performance, but not significant on achievement motivation. Organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on performance and achievement motivation. Achievement motivation has a positive and significant effect on performance, while also mediating the relationship between compensation and organizational commitment on performance. However, achievement motivation does not mediate the effect of workload on performance. The implications of this study are the need for policies to increase appropriate compensation, manage proportional workloads, and strengthen organizational commitment to improve achievement motivation and the performance of non-civil servant teachers. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the Riau Islands Provincial Education Office in formulating human resource management policies in the education sector.

This study aims to explore the impact of digital transformation on employee performance, considering the level of employee engagement in the work environment of the General Bureau of the North Sumatra Provincial Secretariat (Setdaprovsu). The North Sumatra Provincial Government, specifically through the General Bureau of the Setdaprovsu, has begun implementing a digital technology-based work system to adapt to central government policies and developments in other regions that have already adopted digitalization. This implementation is expected to accelerate work processes, increase efficiency, and encourage increased employee productivity. However, some older employees experience difficulties adapting to the latest technological devices and systems. Low digital literacy among certain employees is a barrier to adapting to these changes. Therefore, it is important to explore the extent to which digitalization actually contributes to employee performance, and whether the level of employee work engagement can be a supporting factor in facing the challenges of digital adaptation. This study relies on quantitative methods by distributing an online questionnaire via the Google Form platform to 76 employees of the General Bureau of the Setdaprovsu as respondents. The data obtained is processed in numerical form using a Likert scale to assess the influence of independent, dependent, and intermediary variables. All data were analyzed using Smart-PLS (Partial Least Squares) statistical software. Based on the data processing results, it was found that digitalization positively contributes to employee performance. The higher the intensity of digital technology utilization in work activities, the better the resulting performance. Furthermore, employee engagement has been shown to play a moderating role, strengthening the relationship between digitalization and performance. This means that the positive effect of digitalization on performance will be greater if employees have a strong emotional attachment and commitment to their work.

Sustainability reporting is increasingly adopted as a strategic tool for organizations to communicate their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. However, the potential for fraud—driven by the desire to uphold a green image and weak regulatory frameworks—has led to the manipulation of such disclosures. This study critically explores the Pentagon Fraud theory, which expands upon previous fraud frameworks by including arrogance and competence alongside pressure, opportunity, and rationalization. The primary objective of this research is to investigate how each of these five elements influences the tendency for fraud in sustainability reports. Moreover, it examines the role of organizational behavior as an intervention strategy to mitigate fraud risk. Using a qualitative literature review method, the study synthesizes data from scholarly articles, institutional reports, and empirical studies published between 2019 and 2024. Through thematic content analysis, it uncovers how fraud in sustainability reporting is frequently triggered by opportunity and rationalization, enabled by limited oversight and reputational pressure. Furthermore, the study identifies organizational behavior—especially ethical leadership, internal control systems, and whistleblowing mechanisms—as a critical deterrent to fraudulent activities. The findings suggest that integrating behavioral ethics into organizational governance and ESG reporting systems is vital for fraud prevention. The study contributes a conceptual model combining the Pentagon Fraud framework with behavioral interventions, offering both theoretical insight and practical guidelines for organizations, regulators, and auditors to enhance reporting credibility and integrity.

Tourism plays a crucial role in stimulating economic growth and empowering local communities, especially in developing countries. Among the key elements of tourism development, tourist attractions serve as primary drivers in enhancing destination attractiveness and influencing tourists’ decisions to visit or revisit. However, the increase in tourist visits alone does not guarantee sustainable economic benefits unless supported by a high level of tourist satisfaction. This study aims to explore the impact of tourist attraction development on destination attractiveness and local economic development, with tourist satisfaction acting as a mediating variable. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method through a literature review approach. Data were collected from 10 selected international and national journal articles that met credibility and relevance criteria. Thematic analysis was used to identify key patterns and relationships among the concepts of attraction development, satisfaction, and economic impact. The results show that developing attractions—whether natural, cultural, or artificial—significantly enhances the appeal of destinations. When supported by high levels of tourist satisfaction, these developments contribute strongly to increasing tourist loyalty, revisit intentions, and local spending. Tourist satisfaction acts as a vital bridge that translates attractive destinations into tangible economic benefits for local communities. The findings also stress the importance of community-based approaches and value-chain management in tourism to ensure long-term sustainability. These findings can assist tourism stakeholders in formulating strategic policies and designing experiences that not only attract tourists but also promote inclusive and sustainable local economic development.

Baris Klemat Dance is an aesthetic expression imbued with sacred and symbolic values within the religious rituals of the customary community in Seseh Cemagi Village, Bali. This study aims to examine the presentation structure, symbolic meanings, and sacred dimensions of Baris Klemat Dance, as well as how the local community internalizes these meanings in ritual practice. A qualitative method with an ethnoaesthetic approach was employed, using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and literature review. The analysis was guided by the theories of Dance Structure (Kaeppler, 2007), Ethnoaesthetics (Merriam, 1964), and Symbolic Meaning (Turner, 1967). The findings reveal that Baris Klemat Dance is presented in a non-narrative form (without storyline), using "klemat" (miniature boats) as its main property. The performance consists of five structural segments: pepeson, ngelembar, pengawak, pecet, and mendak tirta to the sea. The dance is performed in pairs by male dancers, accompanied by Gamelan ... (to be completed), following a sacredly organized formation and movement pattern during the piodalan ritual at Pura Menega. Its sacred symbolism is reflected in the relationship between movements, costumes, and the klemat property, representing the coastal community's cosmology: the interconnectedness of humans, nature, and ancestors. For the people of Seseh Cemagi, Baris Klemat Dance is not merely an artistic performance but a form of devotional service (ngayah), a medium of spiritual communication with divine forces, as well as a means of cultural preservation and reinforcement of communal identity rooted in their spiritual and social value system. This study underscores the importance of preserving sacred performance arts in maintaining cultural continuity and cosmic harmony in Balinese society.
