Abstract

The increasing frequency and complexity of disasters in Indonesia, with an average annual increase of 15%, requires Regional Disaster Management Agencies (BPBD) to have optimal human resource capacity. BPBD Anambas Regency faces significant challenges including 40% of employees lacking disaster management certification, 35% job placement mismatches, and performance evaluation conducted only once annually instead of the required four times. This study aims to analyze the influence of competency, job placement, and organizational support on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable at BPBD Anambas Regency. The research employed a quantitative descriptive design using saturated sampling technique with all 159 employees as respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires with 5-point Likert scale and analyzed using PLS-SEM through SmartPLS software. The results demonstrate that competency significantly influences job satisfaction (β=0.154, p<0.05) and employee performance (β=0.341, p<0.001), job placement significantly affects both job satisfaction (β=0.337, p<0.001) and employee performance (β=0.275, p<0.05), while organizational support significantly influences job satisfaction (β=0.405, p<0.001) but not employee performance directly. Job satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between competency and performance (β=0.094, p<0.05) and between job placement and performance (β=0.101, p<0.05). The study concludes that job placement has the strongest direct effect on performance, while organizational support primarily influences performance through job satisfaction mediation, suggesting that BPBD Anambas Regency should prioritize strategic job placement and competency development while maintaining organizational support to enhance disaster management effectiveness.

Abstract

The creative economy, especially related to the fashion subsector, becomes a critical contributor to Indonesia’s economic growth, and yet also comes along with fast-fashion issues, with their environmental and social impacts. As an alternative, sustainable fashion made on traditional textiles, e.g., Minangkabau woven fabrics and batik, dyed with tannin-based natural coloring agents from gambier, offers a significant potency. However, research on factors influencing consumer purchase intention for these products remains limited, particularly in West Sumatra, calling for the need to analyze how social influence and willingness to pay more impact purchase intention and how they drive eWOM. A quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique was invoked, with data collected through an online survey of 160 respondents. Data were then analyzed using the SEM-PLS technique. Results demonstrated that social influence and willingness to pay more had a positive and significant effect on purchase intention. Additionally, purchase intention was found to mediate the formation of eWOM. These findings both corroborate the literature concerning sustainable consumer behaviors and afford practical implications for producers to apply social networking, fix a premium price as a symbol of quality and sustainability, educate consumers to elevate their loyalty, and broaden market reach through eWOM.

Abstract

This study examines the extent to which the public can access civil dispute decisions through the e-Court system as an implementation of the principle of open trials. Through a normative juridical approach to legal regulations and court decisions, it was found that although e-Court can accelerate and simplify judicial administration, public access to decisions remains unequal. Electronic copies of decisions are only provided to parties directly involved in the case, while the general public or third parties must still submit manual requests or wait for publication in the Supreme Court Decision Directory, which is often not updated quickly and comprehensively. Differences in implementation in each regional court also widen the gap in transparency. The results of this study indicate that the success of e-Court in supporting judicial transparency requires improvements to the publication system and standardization of procedures to ensure more secure and equitable public access to decisions.
