Abstract

This research focuses on the forms and meanings of the Indonesian language teacher’s ironical expressions toward students of grades X, XI, and XII at SMA Negeri 2 Kupang. The aim of this study is to identify and describe the forms of ironical expressions used by the Indonesian language teacher toward the students. The data analyzed consists of utterances or communicative interactions made by the Indonesian language teacher at SMA Negeri 2 Kupang during the learning process. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data analysis presented descriptively. This study is based on the stylistics theory of Gorys Keraf as the foundation for analysis. The research findings reveal four forms of ironical expressions, including irony, sarcasm, cynicism, and antiphrasis. The meanings of these expressions generally include both denotative and connotative meanings, containing criticism, warnings, and reprimands.

Abstract

This study is entitied "Analysis of the Use of Slang Language in Conversation among Students in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (Sociolinguistic Study)". This study aims to determine how slang language is used in conversations among students in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at Nusa Cendana University Kupang. The theory used in this research is Sociolinguistic Theory. The method used in this research is qualitative method. Data collection techniques used in this research are interview, documentation, note-taking, and voice recording techniques. Based on the data and research results obtained, there are 21 forms of slang language utterances divided into five analyses, namely: 5 forms of abbreviation (mo, su, bro, kek and gimana), 6 forms of acronyms (WA, HP, PHP, BTW, SKS and OMG), 4 forms of acronyms (curhat, matkul, mager and maba), 4 forms of inversion (kuy, takis, woles and sabi), and 2 forms of creative language (gabut and rempong).

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyelidiki bagaimana pendekatan instruksional mempengaruhi kemampuan menulis artikel siswa kelas VIII yang berfokus pada topik lingkungan sekolah di SMP Swasta Al Washliyah 8 Medan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Swasta Al Washliyah 8 Medan yang berlokasi di Jalan Sisingamangaraja No.10 C, Harjosari I, Kecamatan Medan Amplas, Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara 20217. Seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Swasta Al Washliyah 8 Medan merupakan populasi penelitian. Metodologi pengambilan sampel acak digunakan, dengan kelas VIII (2) yang terdiri dari 31 siswa berfungsi sebagai kelompok kontrol menggunakan metode pengajaran tradisional, sementara kelas VIII dengan 31 siswa berfungsi sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang menerapkan metodologi Discovery Learning. Penelitian menggunakan desain eksperimental kuantitatif dengan kerangka "Two Group pretest-posttest Design". Metode pengumpulan data meliputi teknik observasi, penilaian esai, dan prosedur dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa sebelum penerapan Discovery Learning, siswa kelas VIII SMP Swasta Al Washliyah 8 Medan menunjukkan kemampuan menulis artikel dengan tema "Lingkungan Sekolah" dengan nilai rata-rata 66,29 dan simpangan baku 7,18, menempatkan kinerja pre-test dalam kategori memadai (C). Setelah penerapan model Discovery Learning, kemampuan menulis artikel siswa dengan tema "Lingkungan Sekolah" menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 83,38 dan simpangan baku 3,73, meningkatkan kinerja post-test ke kategori memuaskan (B). Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan nilai t-hitung melebihi nilai t-tabel (11,63 > 0,355), yang mengarah pada penerimaan Ha. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Discovery Learning secara signifikan mempengaruhi kemampuan menulis artikel siswa kelas VIII mengenai tema "Lingkungan Sekolah" di SMP Swasta Al Washliyah 8 Medan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) kearifan lokal yang terkandung dalam novel Kembara Rindu karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy; (2) modul ajar novel Kembara Rindu karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy di kelas XII SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa (1) Kearifan lokal dalam novel Kembara Rindu karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy meliputi (a) peralatan dan perlengkapan kehidupan manusia: tempat berlindung; makanan, (b) mata pencaharian dan sistem ekonomi: pedagang, (c) Sistem kemasyarakatan: kekerabatan; sosial, (d) bahasa: bahasa lampung, (e) kesenian: mahkota siger; tari bedana kreasi, (f) sistem pengetahuan: alam sekitar; alam fauna; alam flora; sifat-sifat dan tingkah laku sesama manusia; ruang waktu, (g) sistem religi: ritual agama; guru/pemimpin agama; (3) Modul ajar teks novel di kelas XII SMA berdasarkan kurikulum merdeka terdapat tujuan pembelajaran 12.6 Peserta didik menganalisis kearifan lokal yang terkandung dari novel Kembara Rindu Karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode pembelajaran novel menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) atau Problem Based Instruction (PBI) dengan metode pembelajaran diskusi dan tanya jawab. Kata kunci: Kembara Rindu, kearifan lokal.

Abstract

This research focuses on the form of expressive illocutionary speech acts in the movie “When It Stops Here”. The purpose of this research is to analyze the expressive illocutionary speech acts in the film “When It Stops Here”. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This method is used to analyze information related to expressive illocutionary speech acts in the film “When It Stops Here”. The data collection technique in this research uses listening technique or SLBC in which the researcher listens to the use of language without participating in the conversation process. This research refers to the theory of pragmatics. The result of this research shows that there are 22 expressive illocutionary speech acts, namely (1) speech acts of congratulation there are 4 utterances, (2) speech acts of thanks there are 5 utterances, (3) speech acts of apologizing there are 6 utterances (4) speech acts of praising there are 3 utterances, (5) speech acts of criticizing there are 1 utterance, (7) speech acts of insinuating there are 1 utterance, (8) speech acts of condoling there are 1 utterance.

Writing Ability of Descriptive Text of Class VII A Students of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang. The problem raised in this study is How is the Writing Ability of Descriptive Text of Class VII A Students of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang?. The purpose of this study is to describe the Writing Ability of Descriptive Text of Class VII A Students of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang. The theory used is constructivism and writing theory. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique used in this study is the test technique. The data analysis technique in this study is reading students' descriptive texts, identifying descriptive texts according to the structure and language rules, analyzing student data by scoring, and concluding the results of the data analysis. The results of the study showed that, class VII A students of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang were able to write descriptive texts well based on the structure and language rules of descriptive texts. Text structure with a percentage of students who completed 78.6% and a percentage of students who did not complete 21.4%. Language rules with a percentage of students who completed 64.9% and a percentage of students who did not complete 35.1%. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that students in class VII A of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang are categorized as capable of writing descriptive texts. This shows that there are students who produce descriptive texts very well and there are also students who do not produce descriptive texts well. This shows the level of ability of students in class VII A of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang in writing descriptive texts in accordance with the structure and language rules of descriptive texts are able to achieve the KKTP score standard of 75.

Abstract

The focus of this research is "How is the role of teachers in developing dialogue skills for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Kupang through the use of role-playing methods. The purpose of this study is to find out and describe the role of teachers in developing dialogue skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Kupang through the use of role-playing methods. The theory used is Information Processing Theory, because what is measured in this study is the role of a teacher in developing dialogue skills with students. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. In this study, the researcher selected material dialogue skills using a role-playing method in accordance with of the Independent Curriculum found Revition Edition grade VII in the odd semester phase D 7.3.1 Conveying ideas, thoughts, views, directions, or messages for the purpose of proposing, solving problems, and providing solutions orally in the form of monologues and dialogues logically, ,critical, and creatively. The Role-Playing method is a method used in language learning, especially learning dialogue skills. Based on the results of the analysis conducted on only teachers Indonesia Language and 24 students in grades VII-C of SMP Negeri 7 Kupang, the role of teachers in developing dialogue skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Kupang through the use of role-playing methods can be said to be ineffective. These results can be seen from the percentage success rate of 64.58% of students who are unable to dialogue using the role-playing method, namely the achievement of scores ranging from 70-100. Students who are said to have completed or exceeded the KKM amounted to 8 people with a percentage of 33.33%, while students who did not complete amounted to 16 people with a percentage of 66.66%.

Abstract

This study is entitled “The Ability to Write Slogans Among Eighth Grade K Students of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang”. The purpose of this research is to describe the ability of eighth grade K students at SMP Negeri 10 Kupang in writing slogans. The theoretical framework used in this study includes writing theory and constructivist learning theory. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques included observation, testing/evaluation, and documentation study. Based on the research conducted on February 24, 2025, involving 27 students from class VIII-K of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang, it was found that the majority of students were able to write slogans well. Of the total, 25 students (92.6%) achieved scores above the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKTP), which is ≥75, while only 2 students (7.4%) did not meet the criteria. Therefore, it can be concluded that the slogan writing ability of class VIII-K students is categorized as very good, as most students met or exceeded the school’s minimum passing score (≥75). These results indicate that, in general, class VIII-K students are highly capable of writing slogans that align with the assessment criteria, including diction usage, sentence structure, and relevance to the theme.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membandingkan dua berita dari CNN Indonesia dan Kompas.com mengenai program pengiriman siswa “nakal” ke barak militer di Jawa Barat dengan menggunakan teori analisis wacana kritis van Dijk. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah perbedaan framing media dalam memberitakan kebijakan kontroversial yang berdampak luas bagi masyarakat, terutama terkait hak anak dan peran lembaga negara. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana kedua media tersebut membangun narasi, serta menganalisis struktur wacana yang digunakan dalam memengaruhi opini publik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah model analisis wacana kritis van Dijk, yang meliputi analisis struktur makro (tema), suprastruktur (alur), dan mikrostruktur (pilihan kata, semantik, dan strategi diskursif). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa CNN Indonesia cenderung membangun narasi positif dan membela kebijakan pemerintah, dengan menekankan legitimasi, kolaborasi lintas lembaga, serta penggunaan istilah “pembinaan” dan “pembinaan karakter”. Kritik dari pihak luar hanya diakomodasi secara normatif dan bukan menjadi fokus utama. Sebaliknya, Kompas.com lebih kritis dan problematis terhadap kebijakan tersebut dengan menyoroti suara para pemerhati pendidikan, pentingnya mendengarkan suara anak-anak, dan perlunya penilaian psikologis yang independen. Kompas juga mempertanyakan efektivitas program tersebut dan menekankan perlindungan hak-hak anak. Perbandingan ini menunjukkan bahwa media memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk realitas sosial dan relasi kuasa melalui konstruksi wacana yang mereka pilih. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media flipbook terhadap hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas X di SMK As-Shofa Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah kebutuhan akan metode pembelajaran inovatif yang dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimen dan menggunakan Posttest Only Control Group Design. Sampel dipilih secara purposive, yaitu kelas X TKJ A sebagai kelompok eksperimen dengan menggunakan media flipbook dan kelas X TKJ C sebagai kelompok kontrol dengan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen memperoleh rata-rata persentase N-Gain sebesar 85,99%, sedangkan kelompok kontrol hanya memperoleh 65,10%. Selain itu, kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan pola skor yang lebih konsisten dan merata, dengan standar deviasi yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Berdasarkan kategori interpretasi N-Gain, peningkatan hasil belajar pada kelompok eksperimen termasuk dalam kategori sangat efektif. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media flipbook secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa secara lebih optimal dan konsisten dibandingkan dengan metode pembelajaran konvensional.
