Abstract

This study aims to explore students' understanding of the First Friday Mass at Sekolah Tinggi Agama Katolik (STAKat) Negeri Pontianak, its impact on their spirituality as future Catholic Religious Education teachers, and the obstacles they face in participating in the mass. The research was conducted from July 30 to September 9, 2024, at STAKat Negeri Pontianak. Informants in this study consisted of three main groups: students from the 2022, a lecturer, and the Vice Chairman III. The findings showed that students at STAKat Negeri Pontianak had a solid understanding of the First Friday Mass as a form of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and an essential part of the Catholic faith. This mass has a positive impact on students' spirituality, especially in shaping attitudes of faithfulness to God's word, compassion for others, forgiveness, humility, and a willingness to sacrifice qualities vital for future Catholic Religious Education teachers. However, participation in the mass was hindered by several challenges, such as health issues, conflicting academic or work schedules, and a lack of motivation that causes some students to perceive the mass as less important. Nevertheless, the First Friday Mass continued to play a significant role in supporting students’ spiritual development.

Abstract

This study  aims to explore and describes the implementation of Christian moral sexuality education for children in Catholic families at Stasi Keluarga Kudus Nazaret Long Bagun based on the teachings of the Church, Familiaris Consortio.  The rtudy is conducted from December 2024 to April 2025. The research utilized a qualitative approach with document study and in-depth interviews involving parents and the Parish Pastor. Data analysis involved technique triangulation and source triangulation. The findings indicated that open communication and gradual education were the main principles in teaching children about sexuality. Parents played an active role by creating an open atmosphere within the family, explaining moral values according to the child's developmental stage, and addressing the challenges that arise in the education process. The conclusion of this research shows that moral sexuality education in Catholic families must be carried out with a wise and loving approach, and requires support from the Church to provide a deeper understanding to parents.

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran yang kurang bervariasi, kurangnya semangat peserta didik dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran, pada akhirnya hasil belajar peserta didik tidak mencapai KKM. Bentuk penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pre-eksperimental design one-group pretest-pottest. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 4 Satu Atap Nanga Taman yang beragama katolik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal tes pilihan ganda yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah model pembelajaran inkuiri. Pengambilan keputusan uji hipotesis menggunakan bantuan aplikasi SPSS. Berdasarkan pada pengolahan data hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh peserta didik sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri adalah 56,67 atau ketuntasan belajar peserta didik mencapai 16,67%. Sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri mencapai 78,33 atau ketuntasan belajar peserta didik mencapai 83,33%. Berdasarkan pengambilan keputusan dalam uji paired sample T-test bahwa nilai sig. (2-tailed) < 0,05 atau 0.020 < 0.05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai pretest dan nilai posttest. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji effect size diperoleh angka 1,65 atau 0,8 dengan kriteria besar. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri berpengaruh besar terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang bagaimana pembentukan karakter siswa melalui pendidikan agama katolik di sekolah. Penulis melihat bahwa permasalahan pendidikan saat ini adalah kemerosotan moral siswa yang membuat mereka kurang sopan dan kurang menghargai orang lain, misalnya menggunakan kata-kata kotor, tidak jujur dan lain sebagainya. Pada era ini, karakter siswa banyak menyimpang dari norma-norma yang berlaku sehingga perlunya pendidikan agama katolik sebagai usaha untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai yang berkaitan dengan karakter siswa. Penanaman nilai karakter melalui pendidikan agama katolik sangat afektif untuk menangani bahkan mencegah kebiasaan buruk yang terjadi pada siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui karakter yang dapat dibentuk dan cara pembentukan karakter siswa melalui pendidikan agama katolik di sekolah.  Penelitian ini merupakan jenis  penelitian  kepustakaan  (library research),  yaitu suatu  penelitian yang data-datanya berasal  dari  literatur-literatur  yang terkait dengan nilai-nilai pembentukan karakter dan pendidikan agama katolik di sekolah. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari penelitian di atas dapat disimpulkan, Pendidikan agama katolik merupakan suatu bentuk pemahaman untuk siswa, agar siswa semakin mengenal imannya dan dapat mewujudkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sesuai dengan norma agama dan sosial yang berlaku. Pendidikan agama katolik dapat membentuk karakter siswa melalui nilai-nilai karakter yang sesuai dengan iman kristiani.

Abstract

The problems found in this study are: 1) What is the Role of Catholic Religious Education in the Millennial Era in Increasing Student Learning Motivation? 2) What are the factors that influence student learning motivation? How are PAK teachers in this millennial era? From the existing problems, we can know that the purpose of this research is to find out the Role of Catholic Religious Education Teachers in the Millennial Era in increasing students' learning motivation. The research method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Learning motivation is an encouragement that comes from within students to gain knowledge and intelligence. Not only that, learning motivation can also provide changes in behavior and good achievements for students. Students who have high learning motivation will get good achievement. Learning motivation of students is influenced by internal and external factors. PAK teachers have an important role in increasing student learning motivation. In the millennial era, teachers are required to be digitally literate, use social media in the learning process, provide fun and meaningful learning, the teacher must be a role model, and also the teacher as a lifelong learner (long life education). The teacher's role in increasing student learning motivation is: making students active in teaching and learning activities, creating varied and innovative learning methods, increasing enthusiasm and enthusiasm for learning, giving awards/appreciations to students, holding competitions, giving punishments.

Abstract

Young people often idolize models or idols regarding their lifestyle and charm. It would be wonderful if that fascination was directed towards Jesus Christ, the Savior. Admiration for these individuals is often driven by their exceptional values, traits, character, abilities or appearance, which embody the aspirations and aspirations of the admirer. This admiration can also lead to a longing for a relationship with the idolized figure, either directly or indirectly. The research methodology used is a qualitative method. The data used in this research was collected from news sources, books, and journals. The findings in this study conclude that what is formulated as the main problem is answered that catechesis on "Jesus as a true friend and idol figure" can affect the depth of faith and real action in the lives of students. This finding is also a very meaningful input for Catholic Religious Education teachers who become catechesis facilitators in schools to be more proactive and skillful in delivering teaching materials.

Abstract

Fokus penelitian ini mengkaji tentang “Implementasi nilai-nilai pendidikan Kristiani dan tanggung jawab kaum awam dalam perkembangan panggilan imam di kalangan kaum muda”. Perhatian terhadap panggilan imamat di antara kaum muda memerlukan langkah-langkah yang konkret. Kesatuan dalam tindakan konkret tersebut sangat diperlukan. Usaha-usaha yang bisa dan mungkin dilakukan seperti persekutuan dan pelayanan untuk menumbuhkan imamat terhadap nilai-nilai dan panggilan hidup sebagai imam, di antara kaum muda Katolik. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis keterlibatan kaum awam dalam pengembangan panggilan imamat di antara kaum muda. Penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif yang menghasilkan data-data berupa kata-kata dan tulisan atau lisan dari orang-orang dan perilaku yang diamati. Adapun temuan dari tulisan ini, bahwasanya keikutsertaan kaum awam dalam pengembangan panggilan imamat di antara kaum muda nampak dalam kehidupan parokial. Perhatian dan keterbukaan umat secara tulus terhadap panggilan imamat di antara kaum muda Katolik akan dirasakan oleh mereka yang sudah mengarahkan diri kepada kehidupan sebagai imam.

Abstract

Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk memberikan preferensi baru dalam penerapan identitas Katolik di sekolah-sekolah Katolik, berdasarkan dokumen “Identitas Sekolah Katolik untuk Budaya Dialog”. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan mempelajari dan mengkaji literatur dari dokumen Gereja, artikel jurnal nasional dan internasional, serta dokumen negara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pendidikan Katolik, berdasarkan dokumen “Identitas Sekolah Katolik untuk Budaya Dialog”, dapat dilaksanakan melalui partisipasi dan peran dari subjek-subjek pendidikan seperti orangtua, lembaga pendidikan, tenaga kependidikan, negara, serta pimpinan Gereja. Isi dari dokumen “Identitas Sekolah Katolik untuk Budaya Dialog” sangat cocok dan benar-benar berkembang di sekolah-sekolah Katolik pada saat ini. Orang Tua sebagai pendidik pertama perlu mengupayakan pemilihan pendidikan Katolik yang terbaik bagi anak-anaknya. Sekolah Katolik harus membaharui semangat dan sistem pendidikan terutama dalam situasi sekolah yang multikultural. Para guru di sekolah-sekolah Katolik harus dibina untuk mempertahankan nilai-nilai Injili dalam mendidik peserta didik seraya membaharui metode pengajaran dan ilmu-ilmu yang relevan. Negara perlu mendukung dan memfasilitasi jalannya pendidikan di sekolah-sekolah Katolik melalui regulasi, dan pengawasan. Para pemimpin Gereja perlu memperhatikan dan menjadi penentu bagi identitas Kekatolikan sebuah sekolah. Dengan demikian, Pelaksanaan pendidikan Katolik yang terdorong oleh nilai-nilai Injili serta pembentukan perserta didik yang integral dapat terlaksana dengan baik dan relevan terutama untuk menghadapi fenomena dunia yang multikultural.

Abstract

This research is focused on the role of teachers as one of the factors that influence student success. Professional teachers can foster and produce active and creative students so that they can produce students with high levels of learning creativity. To increase student creativity, teachers must understand the meaning of learning creativity in order to create a fun, active, and creative learning environment. The researcher used a qualitative approach. This research was conducted using observation, interview, and documentation, and the informants were Catholic religious education teachers, students, class teachers, and school principals. The data analysis process uses triangulation techniques and source triangulation. Based on the field findings, Catholic religious education teachers at SD Negeri 101856 Gunung Rintih have played their roles as educators, teachers, mentors, creativity boosters, and advisors able to foster better learning creativity among students. Students dare to perform in front of the class or ask questions when the teacher explains, as well as students who dare to take every learning risk and are active and creative in the school environment. Teachers are advised to continue to improve their roles professionally so that they can create a culture of quality learning in schools.

Abstract

The XXI century is a century where technological advances are increasingly developing. Technological advances have penetrated almost all areas of human life. With advances in technology, social communication media have emerged that are integrated in practical devices and help a lot in various human jobs. The Church views this as an opportunity to convey teachings of the faith and catechesis. Digital catechesis is a form of catechesis that utilizes digital media, such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc., which helps the Church to provide interesting, relevant, creative and innovative spiritual services. Through these digital media, the Church spreads the Gospel and provides teachings to the people. This article was written using a literature review method by collecting various writings, such as books, articles, journals, papers, etc. that are relevant to the problem discussed in this article. Digital catechesis is the Church's way of teaching the faith to the people and proclaiming Christ's teachings to many people. Through digital catechesis, people can communicate their faith without being limited by space and time. Digital catechesis is a forum for collaboration between the clergy and the laity, where the clergy act as teachers and guardians of the true teachings and traditions of the faith, while the laity, especially young people, become evangelizers through content posted on digital media.
