Abstract

This study aims to examine students’ perceptions of teachers’ competence in fostering students’ self-efficacy to validate religious information on social media, as well as to explain how students at State Senior High Schools maintain consistency in their affective (moral) learning outcomes amidst a flood of contradictory digital content. This research employs a qualitative literature review method, analysing scientific articles, books, and research reports relevant to teacher competence, self-efficacy, digital literacy, and moral education. The findings indicate that students’ positive perceptions of teachers’ academic, pedagogical, and personal competencies contribute significantly to the development of students’ self-efficacy in validating religious information encountered on social media. Teachers are positioned as the primary point of reference when students encounter questionable information, thereby helping to prevent exposure to hoaxes and misleading content. Furthermore, the internalisation of moral values through learning, teachers’ exemplary behaviour, the practice of religious rituals, and extracurricular activities forms a strong affective foundation. This foundation enables students to maintain consistent moral behaviour in the digital space. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening teachers’ competencies and developing contextually relevant digital literacy programmes in madrasahs.

Abstract

Creative writing skills in the era of digital disruption face challenges in the form of shallow learning and dependence on technology automation. This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing a deep learning approach on enhancing students' creative writing skills and how this strategy can maintain the originality of works amidst the widespread use of digital technology. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with lecturers and students, participatory observation in the learning process, and document analysis of creative writing drafts. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively in stages, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.  Research results indicate that the implementation of deep learning triggers a shift in students' creative processes from superficial writing toward the synthesis of more complex meanings. Digital technology transforms its role from merely a typing aid into a thinking partner that expands the reach of imagination. This approach significantly strengthens the originality and character of students' writing, preventing it from being trapped in the standardization of digital content. The conclusion of this study affirms that deep learning is an effective pedagogical strategy to transform creative writing skills into higher-quality, reflective, and adaptive abilities in response to technological developments.

Abstract

This study employs a psychological approach to literature to examine the main character in Boy Candra’s novel Senja, Hujan, dan Cerita yang Telah Usai. The objective is to analyze the character’s psychological dynamics through Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, encompassing physiological needs, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive method, with data in the form of words, phrases, and sentences extracted from the novel and interpreted based on Maslow’s theoretical framework. The findings indicate that the main character experiences a progressive psychological development. The fulfillment of physiological and safety needs is reflected in efforts to maintain stability and emotional security. The need for love and belonging emerges through the character’s longing for meaningful relationships, while esteem needs are shown in attempts to preserve self-worth despite emotional setbacks. Ultimately, self-actualization is manifested in the character’s capacity for self-acceptance, healing, and rebuilding life with renewed purpose. These findings highlight that literary works can represent the gradual fulfillment of human needs, offering insights into the complexity of psychological growth within narrative contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to map research trends on studio pedagogy/Studio-Based Learning (SBL) and its linkage to design learning outcomes in the context of Visual Communication Design (VCD) using a bibliometric approach. Data were retrieved from Google Scholar via Publish or Perish (PoP) and visualized with VOSviewer to identify term co-occurrence patterns and thematic clusters. The PoP summary displayed at this stage indicates a corpus consisting of one document (publication year 2015–2025) with 7,980 citations and an h-index of 1, which is insufficient to represent longitudinal publication trends. VOSviewer visualizations (density, network, and overlay) show a dominant “sbl” node strongly associated with “sparse bayesian learning” and other technical terms, indicating acronym ambiguity that introduces cross-domain contamination into the dataset. Nonetheless, the maps also reveal a design-education cluster connecting “studio,” “design education,” “teaching,” and “course,” suggesting that part of the corpus is relevant to studio pedagogy. Overall, the findings highlight that valid bibliometric mapping of VCD studio pedagogy depends on precise query construction (using full phrases rather than acronyms) and rigorous data cleaning/term normalization. Future work should refine search queries and apply thesaurus-based filtering to capture VCD-specific themes, including digital/hybrid studios, outcome-based assessment, and feedback mechanisms.
