Abstract

Academic supervision is an important instrument in improving the quality of learning and teacher professionalism. However, the implementation of supervision in various educational institutions still tends to be administrative and evaluative in nature, so it has not been optimal in supporting the development of teachers’ competencies. This article aims to examine coaching-based academic supervision as a transformational strategy for improving teacher performance through the mediating role of work engagement. This study employs a literature review method by analyzing various scientific literatures related to academic supervision, coaching, work engagement, and teacher performance. The findings indicate that the coaching approach is capable of transforming the paradigm of supervision from administrative control into a reflective, collaborative, and humanistic developmental process. Through observation, feedback, reflection, and professional development follow-up, teachers are encouraged to enhance self-awareness and continuously develop their competencies. In addition, work engagement, characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption, functions as a psychological mechanism that strengthens the influence of supervision on improving teacher performance. Therefore, coaching-based academic supervision has the potential to become an effective strategy for building a culture of professional learning and improving the quality of education.

Abstract

Critical thinking is increasingly seen as an important competency in learning to speak English as a Foreign Language (EFL), but qualitative evidence regarding its implementation and development is still scattered and has not been comprehensively synthesized. This research aims to synthesize the results of qualitative research regarding the conceptualization, implementation, and experiences of students and teachers in developing critical thinking through EFL speaking learning. The research was conducted using a systematic literature review method following PRISMA guidelines. Data sources are reputable scientific articles published in the 2019–2024 period and obtained from various academic databases. Articles were selected based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria, then analyzed using thematic synthesis techniques. The results of the study show three main themes, namely: (1) critical thinking is understood as the ability to analyze, evaluate, provide reasons and make decisions in speaking activities; (2) learning strategies such as discussion, debate, problem-based learning, argumentation, and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) are effective in encouraging the development of critical thinking; and (3) teachers and students view speaking activities as a potential means for developing critical thinking skills. This study also identified research limitations in aspects of assessment, longitudinal studies, and EFL contexts that are still underrepresented. Research findings emphasize the importance of implementing dialogical and reflective speaking learning to develop critical thinking skills optimally.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas desain kegiatan pembelajaran pada pendidikan dasar dan menengah di era implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep, prinsip, model, strategi, serta tantangan dalam merancang kegiatan pembelajaran yang efektif, inovatif, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik serta tuntutan pendidikan abad ke-21. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kepustakaan (library research). Data diperoleh melalui berbagai sumber seperti buku, jurnal ilmiah, dokumen kebijakan pendidikan, dan referensi lain yang relevan dengan desain pembelajaran dan Kurikulum Merdeka. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis isi melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain pembelajaran yang efektif dalam Kurikulum Merdeka harus berpusat pada peserta didik, menyesuaikan karakteristik siswa, mengintegrasikan teknologi digital, serta mampu mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreativitas, kolaborasi, dan komunikasi. Berbagai model pembelajaran inovatif seperti Project Based Learning, Problem Based Learning, Discovery Learning, Cooperative Learning, Blended Learning, dan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dapat mendukung terciptanya pembelajaran yang bermakna. Namun demikian, terdapat berbagai tantangan seperti perbedaan kemampuan siswa, keterbatasan sarana prasarana, rendahnya literasi digital, dan kurangnya kreativitas guru. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan kompetensi guru, pemanfaatan media pembelajaran digital, serta kolaborasi antara sekolah, guru, dan orang tua menjadi faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the implementation and effectiveness of Nearpod-based interactive learning media on students’ learning outcomes in Digital Literacy subjects at SMK Model Patriot IV Ciawigebang, West Java. The research applied a quantitative approach using a Quasi-Experimental Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 60 tenth-grade MPLB students divided into experimental and control classes. Data were collected through multiple-choice tests and Likert-scale questionnaires, then analyzed using Paired Sample T-Test and Independent Sample T-Test with IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The results showed that the experimental class average score increased from 59.70 to 79.50 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Student responses also improved from 62.27% to 82.93%, indicating that Nearpod effectively improved students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is an important approach to addressing the diversity of students' learning needs in English language learning. This study aims to explore teachers' experiences in implementing differentiated learning and identify various challenges faced during the implementation process. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and classroom observations of English teachers implementing differentiated learning. Data were then analyzed using descriptive analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that teachers implement differentiated learning through three main stages: planning, implementation, and assessment, which are manifested in the differentiation of content, process, and product according to students' needs, interests, and learning readiness. The research findings reveal that the successful implementation of differentiated learning is largely determined by teachers' ability to map student characteristics and adapt learning strategies flexibly. However, teachers still face various obstacles, such as limited time, lack of learning resources, high variation in student abilities, and limited competency in designing differentiated learning. These findings imply the need for ongoing training and institutional support to improve the effectiveness of the implementation of differentiated learning in schools.

Abstract

The effectiveness of a company's budgeting is significantly influenced by the competence of the human resources involved in the budget planning and management process. This study aims to analyze the influence of human resource competence on the effectiveness of a company's budgeting. The study used a quantitative approach with an associative method. The study population consisted of employees involved in the budgeting process, such as those in finance, accounting, planning, budget administration, and work unit managers. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. Human resource competence was measured through indicators of financial knowledge, technical skills, analytical ability, work experience, mastery of information technology, communication, and integrity, while budgeting effectiveness was measured based on planning accuracy, budget quality, and budget target achievement. The results showed that human resource competence had a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of a company's budgeting. This finding indicates that improving employee competence can support more accurate, effective, and aligned budgeting in line with organizational goals. Therefore, developing human resource competence needs to be a primary concern for companies in efforts to improve the quality of budget management.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih banyaknya siswa SMP yang mengalami kesulitan dalam mengenali, memahami, dan mengendalikan emosinya. Kondisi tersebut terlihat dari berbagai perilaku seperti mudah marah, konflik dengan teman, perundungan, hingga tindakan impulsif yang berdampak pada kehidupan sosial dan proses belajar siswa. Selain itu, media layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling yang digunakan sebelumnya masih belum mampu memfasilitasi proses refleksi emosi siswa secara mendalam dan interaktif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mengembangkan media peta emosi berbasis e-card sebagai media layanan BK untuk membantu siswa merefleksikan pengalaman emosinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui analisis kebutuhan, proses pengembangan, serta kelayakan media peta emosi berbasis e-card untuk tingkat SMP. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari tahap analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Proses pengembangan dilakukan melalui validasi ahli IT, ahli media BK, serta uji coba terbatas kepada guru BK dan peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media peta emosi berbasis e-card layak digunakan dalam layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling dengan kategori “Sangat Baik”. Media ini dinilai menarik, mudah digunakan, serta membantu siswa mengenali, memahami, dan merefleksikan emosi yang dialami.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in the implementation of extracurricular activities at SDN Tomang 01 Jakarta, a public school, and SD Muhammadiyah 27 Jakarta, a private school. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The focus of the study included aspects of planning, implementation, supporting facilities, obstacles encountered, and achievements achieved through extracurricular activities. The results show that both schools share the same commitment to supporting the development of student potential through extracurricular activities, but there are differences in program variety, facility availability, and funding sources. SD Muhammadiyah 27 has a more diverse range of extracurricular activities, including archery, which is supported by school funding sources and parental participation. Meanwhile, SDN Tomang 01 is more dependent on government support, resulting in relatively limited program variety. These differences have implications for student achievement, with private schools demonstrating success at the national level. The research findings confirm that optimal resource support and extracurricular management play an important role in the development of character and student achievement in elementary schools.

Abstract

Tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran sense of humor dan stres kerja guru SMA di Sumbawa Besar. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 147 guru dengan sampel sebanyak 103 responden yang diperoleh menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini terdiri atas skala sense of humor dan skala stres kerja. Hasil validitas menunjukkan bahwa skala sense of humor memiliki 18 item valid dari 24 aitem dengan koefisien validitas 0,312–0,721 dan reliabilitas α = 0,871. Skala stres kerja memiliki 21 item valid dari 35 item dengan koefisien validitas 0,301–0,746 dan reliabilitas α = 0,903. Analisis data menggunakan korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan negative dan signifikan antara sense of humor dengan stress kerja dengan nilai r=-0,570 dan p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). Semakin tinggi sense of humor guru maka semakin rendah stres kerja yang dialami.

Abstract

The low level of student engagement and learning outcomes in social studies learning has prompted the need for the use of interactive and effective digital learning media. This study aims to analyze the use of Wordwall media on student learning outcomes in social studies learning through a literature review. The study used a literature review method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data sources were obtained from various scientific articles accessed through academic databases such as Google Scholar, Garuda, and indexed national and international journals. The selection process was carried out using inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 20 relevant articles, consisting of 17 core articles on Wordwall and 3 supporting articles on digital media for social studies learning. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that the use of Wordwall media generally has a positive impact on social studies learning, characterized by increased learning outcomes, motivation, engagement, and student participation during the learning process. In addition, Wordwall has advantages in the form of interactivity, gamification elements, flexibility of use, and ease of implementation in various learning contexts. Thus, Wordwall can be an alternative, effective digital learning media in supporting the improvement of student learning outcomes in social studies learning.
