Abstract

Teachers’ anxiety and self-efficacy in four English skills take an important role in succeeding the classroom learning activities. Thus, this study aimed to examine the effect of teachers’ anxiety and self-efficacy on their English skills mastery. The teachers’ English skills mastery was based on their TOEIC Scores. There were 65 teachers at one of the state polytechnics who participated voluntarily in the study. Data were obtained using Foreign Language Anxiety Scale (FLAS) and Foreign Language Self-Efficacy Scale (FLSS). Lecturers’ TOEIC scores were categorized into six levels namely novice, elementary, intermediate, basic working proficiency, advanced working proficiency, and general professional proficiency. The obtained data were analyzed using the descriptive-quantitative technique. The results showed that there was no notable effect of teachers’ anxiety in English on their English skills mastery. Another finding revealed a significant effect of teachers’ self-efficacy in mastering English on their English skills mastery. These results are expected to be a reliable source of rationales that initiating a development program of teachers’ self-efficacy in mastering English could enhance their English skills mastery.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kekuatan propeller pada pesawat tanpa awak dengan menggunakan metode additive manufacturing yang menggunakan Stereolithography (SLA). Dalam penelitian ini, pengujian dilakukan dengan menguji kekuatan tensile dan bending pada propeller menggunakan Universal Testing Machine. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa kekuatan struktur pada propeller berbahan resin Tan yang diaplikasikan pada propeller dengan konfigurasi persentase infill 100% lebih baik dibandingkan dengan konfigurasi infill 50% lainnya. Hasil kekuatan tensile tertinggi diperoleh pada infill 100% dengan nilai sebesar 133,8 MPa, sedangkan hasil kekuatan bending tertinggi juga diperoleh pada infill 100% dengan nilai sebesar 2,76 MPa. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pengembangan teknologi additive manufacturing dalam industri manufaktur, khususnya pada pembuatan propeller pesawat tanpa awak dengan kekuatan yang optimal.

Abstract

Layanan lalu lintas udara memerlukan ketepatan dan keakurasian posisi dan ketinggian dari pesawat. ATC System sebagai peralatan penting dalam layanan lalu lintas udara memiliki input data dari Surveillance, yaitu Radar dan ADS-B, pada operasional ATC System terjadi permasalahan target yang tidak stabil serta ketinggian pesawat yang tidak presisi. Pada study ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan target dengan mengkonfigurasi filter pada ADS-B data dengan menggunakan metode action research. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa setting altitude pada filter pada 200ft dapat mengurangi permasalahan target pada ATC Sytem yang memiliki input data surveillance dari radar dan ADS-B.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic, which has spread globally, has resulted in a significant disruption of the world order, encompassing political, economic, social, and educational domains. This study aims to explore the leadership of lecturers in online learning during the Covid 19 pandemic. This study was designed using mixed research both on data collection and data analysis carried out. Primary data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to cadets who were selected as respondents. Furthermore, in-depth interviews were conducted with cadet representatives per randomly selected study program. The data obtained will be analyzed using simple statistical equations using a percentage descriptive formula. After obtaining quantitative research results, a triangulation process is then carried out with interview data. The interview was conducted to elaborate the answers on the questionnaire to be carried out a triangulation process based on the concept of lecturer leadership which is the basis of theory. The triangulation process is also carried out by comparing research findings with literature reviews of lecturer leadership in previous studies. The results showed that the leadership of lecturers in online learning during the Covid-19 period was carried out with three criteria, namely conceptual skills, human skills, and technical skills. Based on the results of the questionnaire obtained, it is known that all three have been carried out by lecturers using various tactics in influencing others as an inseparable part of the lecturer's leadership. The leadership style of lecturers, as demonstrated by the three criteria of skills and tactics used in this study to influence others, may serve as a valuable reference for both lecturers at Politeknik Penerbangan Indonesia Curug and those at other universities.

Abstract

Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar (MSSR) is an important tool in monitoring air traffic, the complexity of radar equipment and the availability of radar equipment for practicum makes students and training participants less than optimal in learning radar, both theory and practice. Technological developments and increasing utilization of education are opportunities for updating learning. The purpose of this study is to find out the needs in learning radar with augmented reality by making MSSR prototypes, methods for manufacturing using the prototype method with the framework approach of the System Development Life Cycle, then for testing using black box testing, testing the function of the prototype and the results obtained. it is found that the function of the prototype is in accordance with the requirements document required in the implementation of radar education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berdasarkan kebutuhan terhadap struktur kurikulum dan pembelajaran yang tepat program Direct Approval European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 66/147 Program Studi Teknik Pesawat Udara (TPU) Politeknik Penerbangan Indonesia (PPI) Curug pada Tahun 2020. Perbedaan fundamental struktur kurikulum dan pembelajaran EASA dengan standar Badan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia (BPSDM) Perhubungan untuk Prodi TPU PPI Curug diduga menyebabkan proses dan hasil pembelajaran program EASA second site tahun 2013 sampai 2018 tidak optimal, terukur dari hasil audit internal dan hasil EASA examination. Perbedaan modularisasi, tata cara pembelajaran praktik, durasi mata ajar dan durasi pembelajaran untuk capaian pembelajaran yang hampir setara dengan standar Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR 147) di Prodi TPU. Implementasi kurikulum dan pembelajaran dengan memasukkan silabus EASA Part 66 dalam mata kuliah Prodi diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran Program D III TPU Angkatan ke-12, Angkatan ke -13 dan Angkatan ke-14. Hasil examination dinilai tidak memenuhi target karena rerata hasil ujian pertama menunjukkan 81 % taruna gagal untuk mendapatkan nilai passmark. Hipotesis peneliti kegagalan tersebut disebabkan adopsi kurikulum EASA belum diimplementasikan secara tepat dalam pembelajaran konvensional Prodi dan perlu direkonstruksi ulang tepat untuk memberikan dampak pembelajaran standar EASA. Tools untuk menganalisis program tersebut menggunakan model CIPP (Stufflebeam, Daniel F, 2000 hlm.282) yang dapat diterapkan untuk evaluasi konteks dalam pembelajaran. Data diperoleh dari internal audit, hasil EASA examination, studi literatur dokumen terkait serta wawancara terhadap dosen dan taruna yang terlibat dalam program second site serta pembanding dari Politeknik PPSDMPU dengan approval AMTO 147. Data hasil evaluasi konteks diolah secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif melalui metode Mixed Method Research (Creswell dan Clark, 2000) secara concurrent triangulation untuk mendapatkan gambaran yang utuh permasalahan dan hipotesis. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan perlunya penyesuaian terhadap program penngembangan speciality knowledge dan experience bagi pengajar, fasilitas belajar yang sudah mengalamai downgrade, komposisi teori dan praktik dalam kurikulum, kebutuhan belajar taruna, kebutuhan pasar global dan regulasi domestik, dukungan stake holder internal, kedalaman dan keluasan bahan kajian dan buku referensi. Hasil evaluasi konteks tersebut menjadi dasar hipotesis rekonstruksi struktur kurikulum baru yang sesuai dengan lingkungan pembelajaran yang mengakomodasi semua standar yang berlaku baik EASA part 66/147, CASR 147 dan standar nasional pendidikan dengan optimal.

Abstract

The Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2009, Part 4, Article 314 Paragraph 1, Concerning Safety Management System for Aviation Service Providers, provides that every aviation service provider is required to create, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve a safety management system guided by the national aviation safety program (Aviation Act, 2009). According to the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, Number 62 of 2017, concerning the Safety Management System, it outlines the scope and application for aviation service providers (CASR 19 Safety Management System, 2017). Therefore, every aviation service provider or approved training organization needs to create a manual or procedure as a guide for implementing and promoting an effective safety management system. In this study, researchers used a type of research method called R&D (research and development). Data collection techniques include preliminary studies through surveys, in-depth interviews, and discussions, as well as product validation. In this journal, the researchers emphasize the literature review related to the manual SMS model.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian perancangan ini adalah untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran online untuk eBriefing praktik yang efektif, efisien, dan fleksibel sehingga dapat memberi kontribusi terhadap pencapaian kompetensi Taruna/i DIV Lalu Lintas Udara pada matakuliah Aerodrome Control Tower. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) produk yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini berupa learning management system dengan model ADDIE (Analyse, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui instrument validasi, tes praktik dan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh 1) kelayakan media pembelajaran berbasis learning management system (LMS) dengan ebriefing praktik Aerodrome Control Tower, ditinjau dari kelayakan ahli materi terdiri dari aspek penentuan jenis produk sebesar 3,47, aspek tujuan program sebesar 3,89, aspek struktur dan komponen model sebesar 3,58 dan aspek kelengkapan model sebesar 3,50 dengan keempat aspek tersebut mendapat kriteria “valid”. Hasil penilaian ahli media terdiri dari aspek Usabilitas sebesar 3,50, aspek system navigasi sebesar 4,00, aspek Graphic design sebesar 3,50 dan aspek Content sebesar 3,50 dengan keempat aspek tersebut mendapat kriteria “valid”. Secara keseluruhan termasuk dalam kriteria “Layak” digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran tambahan pada materi ebriefing praktik Aerodrome Control Tower.

Abstract

This study focuses on exploring motivational reasons for learning English (eg, due to interest/pleasure, pressure from others, or future career goals). To find motivational reasons for learning English, I used the theory of determination (SDT) by Deci and Ryan (1985) as my theoretical framework. Based on the TOEIC score, the results of the cluster analysis showed four different groups, namely the following classifications: intermediate with a toeic score of 405-600, basic working proficiency with a toeic score of 605-780, advanced working abilities with a toeic score with a toeic score of 785-900, general professional proficiency with a toeic score of 905-990. Reasons for motivation to learn English, their goals (i.e., mastery approach goals, mastery-avoidance goals, performance approach goals, and performance avoidance goals), specific foreign language anxiety (i.e., listening, listening, and speaking), and foreign language in general Self Efficacy. Two sets of MANOVA, with follow-up comparison-ANOVA, were used to explain the motivations of different groups regarding foreign language goals and objectives. One ANOVA was used to determine differences in general foreign language self-efficacy. The results showed significant influence and differences between cadets in the four groups based on TOEIC scores on learning motivation, their goals, foreign languages, and foreign languages in general.

Abstract

The AFL has an important role in flight safety at airports. Runway edge light is the main component of AFL that guides aircraft during takeoff or landing. However, several airports in Indonesia have experienced runway edge light failures due to damage to the series circuit. This damage is caused by interference from water, dust, and rodents that are not fully protected by pit transformers. This research aims to design and implement a new pit transformer as a solution. Using a three-level and six-stage R&D method, the pit transformer is made of 304 stainless steel with a thickness of 2 mm in a cylindrical shape and equipped with HDPE pipes to secure the series circuit from damage. Waterproof and functional tests were conducted in the laboratory. The results show that the pit transformer is able to protect series circuit components, optimize installation layout, and improve maintenance and repair efficiency. This research has the potential to strengthen the reliability of AFL series circuit systems and flight operations.
