Abstract

Maritime safety demands innovative solutions amid rising engine room accidents from non-compliance with personal protective equipment like safety helmets, contributing 15-20% of global incidents. This study aimed to design and build an Arduino Pro Micro-based helmet detection system using micro switches and buzzers for real-time alerts in harsh ship environments. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach with ADDIE model, the prototype was tested on 10 engine crew (ABK) aboard KMP JAMBO IX via purposive sampling. Instruments included Arduino IDE for programming, serial monitors for data logging, and SPSS 26 for t-test analysis (p<0.05). Results showed 100% micro switch accuracy, 15-second buzzer response, and 7-hour battery life across four tests, reducing SOP violations from observed pre-implementation lapses. In conclusion, the system enhances crew discipline and supervision efficiency, bridging gaps in affordable maritime IoT safety tools, with potential to cut head injuries by 20-30%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of marketing capabilities and innovation capabilities on the competitive advantage of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sumbawa District. Competitive advantage is a key factor in ensuring business sustainability amid increasingly intense market competition, changing consumer preferences, and rapid digital technological development. Marketing capability reflects the ability of MSMEs to understand customer needs, manage promotional strategies, build long-term relationships with customers, and effectively utilize digital media. Meanwhile, innovation capability refers to the ability of business actors to generate new ideas, develop products, improve production processes, and implement adaptive business models. This study adopts a quantitative approach with a causal research design to examine the cause-and-effect relationships among the variables studied. The research population consists of all MSMEs operating in Sumbawa District. Data were collected through the distribution of structured questionnaires to MSME owners/managers and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that marketing capability and innovation capability have a positive and significant effect on the competitive advantage of MSMEs. This implies that the higher the ability of MSMEs to market their products and innovate, the greater their opportunities to survive and excel in an increasingly competitive business environment. These findings provide important implications for MSME actors and stakeholders in formulating strategies to strengthen competitiveness based on the enhancement of internal business capabilities.

Abstract

Diesel generators are vital components in a ship's machinery system that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. Diesel generators serve as the primary source of electrical power for various onboard needs, such as ship operations, navigation, communications, comfort, and other equipment. The lubrication system (lubricating oil) is a special liquid that plays a crucial role in lubricating engine components, ensuring smooth engine operation, and maintaining the performance and reliability of diesel generator engines. A decrease in lubricating oil pressure can cause overheating, increased friction between components, and even overall engine damage. This study aims to analyze the causes of the decrease in lubricating oil pressure in the diesel generator on the KM. Dharma Kartika VII ship and its handling efforts. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through direct observation, interviews with engineers, documentation, and literature studies. The results of this study are expected to serve as a practical reference for ship crews and maritime cadets in handling disturbances in the diesel generator lubrication system appropriately.

Abstract

Legal protection is the right of every citizen not to get arbitrary treatment by law. Notary is a public official who is authorized to make authentic deeds and other authorities as referred to in Article 15 of UUJN, is also a citizen who gets legal protection. Violation of the implementation of the Notary position is an action that is prohibited by the Notary. However, if a Notary receives a report of an alleged violation of the exercise of office, it should be examined and tried in accordance with the procedures stipulated in the laws and regulations. The problems in this research are 1). How is the regulation of dishonorable dismissal of Notary according to positive law in Indonesia? 2). How is the judge's consideration regarding the cancellation of the decision letter of dishonorable dismissal of a Notary (case study of the Jakarta State Administrative Court decision number: 235/G/2019/PTUN.KT). 3). What are the legal consequences of canceling the decision letter to dishonorably dismiss a Notary (case study of the Jakarta State Administrative Court decision number: 235/G/2019/PTUN.KT). The research method used is normative juridical. The results showed that 1). Notaries who are dishonorably dismissed without a tiered examination by the Notary Supervisory Council feel aggrieved and take legal action through the State Administrative Court. 2). The basis of the judge's consideration in canceling the decree of dishonorable dismissal of Notary because the panel of judges concluded that the Notary Supervisory Council violated the General Principles of Good Government. 3). The PTUN verdict that has canceled the Notary's Dismissal Decree does not mutatis mutandis restore the position of Notary to become active again, this is evidenced by the Notary's Legal Entity Administration System license which has not been opened since 2019 until this research is completed and there is no guarantee of legal protection for the Notary's reappointment process. This is actually very detrimental to the Notary because he is no longer active as a Notary and cannot make authentic deeds as the authority of the Notary regulated in Article 15 of the UUJN.

Abstract

Europe's human rights framework faces severe challenges from migration crises and rule-of-law backsliding despite robust ECHR and EU Charter protections. This doctrinal study analyzes 2020-2026 ECtHR/CJEU cases revealing systemic pushback violations (N.D. v. Spain), judicial purges in Hungary/Poland (Xero Flor v. Poland), and 5,800 execution backlogs. EU Migration Pact externalization and Article 7 sanctions (€137B frozen) show limited compliance amid political vetoes. Findings confirm judicial efficacy (1,326 judgments/€92M awards 2024) against enforcement fragility (70% execution rate). Public support (77% corporate accountability) contrasts policy inertia. Recommendations: automatic GDP sanctions, EU ECHR accession, empowered NHRIs. Without reforms, Article 2 TEU values risk erosion by 2030.

Abstract

Polymer mortar is an alternative material developed by utilising epoxy resin as a binder and stone dust as a fine aggregate. This study aims to analyse the effect of epoxy resin variation on the compressive strength of stone dust-based polymer mortar. The epoxy resin variations used in this study were 10%, 15%, and 20% of the material weight. Compressive strength testing was conducted at ages of 1, 2, 7, 14, and 21 days. The results showed that an increase in the percentage of epoxy resin significantly improved the mechanical properties of polymer mortar. At a variation of 10%, a compressive strength of 9.03 MPa was obtained at 21 days. Meanwhile, a variation of 20% resulted in a compressive strength of 17.71 MPa. This study indicates that an increase in the epoxy mixture content and a longer testing age affect the increase in the compressive strength of stone dust-based polymer mortar. These results also support the application of sustainable construction principles through the use of alternative materials.
