Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Word of Mouth, Direct Marketing, and Digital Marketing on Brand Awareness through Event Marketing as a mediating variable. The research employs a quantitative approach with survey methods involving 505 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings indicate that all paths in the model are statistically significant. Word of Mouth, Direct Marketing, and Digital Marketing each have a significant direct effect on Event Marketing and Brand Awareness. Moreover, Event Marketing significantly mediates the relationship between the three independent variables and Brand Awareness. These results highlight the importance of integrating communication strategies to effectively build brand awareness through interactive and experiential channels.

Abstract

This study analyses the strategies of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in addressing the growing issue of online gambling among adolescents in Paya Bakung Village, Deli Serdang Regency. Using a qualitative approach through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews, the research identifies three main da’wah strategies sentimental, rational, and sensory. The findings show that NU’s approaches have contributed to reducing adolescent involvement in online gambling by strengthening religious awareness and community values. However, their effectiveness remains limited due to economic pressures, easy access to gambling platforms, and the lack of structured follow-up. The study highlights the need for continuous collaboration between NU, families, and educational institutions to reinforce religious and ethical values as well as to provide sustainable preventive measures.

Abstract

This study investigates the legacy of colonization on indigenous child-rearing practices and notions relating to childhood in India, conceptualizing this historical rupture as a driver for the erasure of culturally located modes of care, education, and protection. This study focuses specifically on colonial interventions that displaced family settings, alienated community caregiving, and imposed Eurocentric disciplinary and morally sanctioned practices; the British legal and educational legacy entrenched vernacular forms of childhood as pathological. This theoretical paper draws from postcolonial and decolonial childhood studies to examine how popular representations of children were located within pre-existing constructs of the child through a Victorian lens, missionary schooling, the deferral of the English legal system, and juvenile reformatories that made singular the plurality of parenting and knowing in terms of some wage-earning regions of the subcontinent. By analyzing legislative texts, educational policy records, and cultural artifacts, the study assumes a child shifting between a collective and a juridical subject of state power. In narrating such changes, I demonstrate that the contemporary child rights agenda in India, situated in a response to an international human rights framework, contains a legacy of colonial constructions of the child, the family, and development. While the Right to Education (RTE) Act and the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act are formalized, they frequently occur in an epistemic fracture with local culture and knowledge. Through this research, it advocates for a renegotiation of the child rights discourse that aims not only to rectify structural injustices but also to reimagine care, kinship, and learning spaces, which have been irreparably silenced by epistemic colonization. By reclaiming the subaltern accounts of childhood, it reconstitutes a rights-based framework in cultural legitimacy and historical continuities. The erased traditions are not just remnants of past practice, but they are also sites of ethical relations and resilient communities, representing signposts for envisioning decolonized, inclusive, child-centred futures.

Abstract

The rapid development of generative visual AI in Indonesia's digital creative ecosystem has outpaced clear ethical and regulatory frameworks, creating a landscape of opportunities rife with uncertainty. This study maps these complex dynamics using a mixed-methods explanatory sequential design. The quantitative phase involved an online survey of 322 respondents, followed by a qualitative phase through in-depth interviews with 10 selected respondents. The findings indicate a high but pragmatic level of AI adoption (96.6%). There is a strong paradox between enthusiasm for the benefits of AI (Mean > 4.3) and deep concerns about ethical risks (Mean > 4.1), particularly regarding originality. A significant gap was identified between high personal ethical awareness and low understanding of formal regulations (Mean < 3.8). The practical implication of this study is the urgent need to develop ethical guidelines and legal literacy modules for creators in Indonesia.

Abstract

Stunting remains one of the major public health challenges in Indonesia, particularly in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, where early marriage is still prevalent. This study aims to examine the relationship between maternal age at marriage and the incidence of stunting in children under five, as well as the role of women’s empowerment in prevention. A quantitative correlational descriptive design was applied with purposive sampling of 30 mothers who married before the age of 18 and had children under five years old. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed with Chi-Square tests and descriptive statistics. The results show a significant association between early marriage and child stunting, ?² (3, N = 30) = 9.090, p = 0.028, with a linear trend (p = 0.004) indicating that the older the maternal age at marriage, the lower the prevalence of stunting. At 15 years of marriage age, 75 percent of children experienced stunting, compared to 53.8 percent at 16 years, 12.5 percent at 17 years, and none at 18 years. Women’s empowerment indicators reveal that although most respondents have access to health information (93.3 percent) and routinely attend posyandu services (86.7 percent), only 23.3 percent independently make decisions regarding child health, showing limited agency despite available resources. These findings confirm that early marriage significantly increases the risk of stunting through biological immaturity, limited nutritional literacy, and reduced maternal decision-making. Women’s empowerment emerges as a strategic pathway to delay marriage, strengthen parenting, and reduce stunting prevalence. Policy recommendations include enhancing adolescent reproductive health education, improving maternal nutrition literacy, and promoting cross-sectoral collaboration between health, education, and religious affairs offices.

Abstract

The European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive II (EU RED II) excluded palm oil as a sustainable feedstock, indirectly stigmatizing Indonesia as a driver of deforestation. This study analyzes Indonesia’s response through the lens of stigma politics and ontological security. Unlike previous research that focused on material-economic impacts, this article highlights identity preservation and stigma avoidance. Using a qualitative case study and interpretive analysis of policy documents, official statements, and media coverage, the study finds that Indonesia’s strategy reflects stigma avoidance: accepting global sustainability norms while rejecting the negative label. This is demonstrated by its World Trade Organization (WTO) lawsuit against the EU, promotion of the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification, and cooperation with fellow producers through the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC). The study contributes by conceptualizing stigma avoidance as a narrative-based diplomatic practice through which Indonesia safeguards both material interests and ontological security.

Abstract

This study aims to explore students' experiences in using the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) at the Medan Tourism Polytechnic Library using the Think-Aloud Protocol (TAP) method. A total of 15 students who had used the OPAC at least twice were purposively selected as respondents. Data were collected through observations of collection search tasks and semi-structured interviews, then analyzed using Reflexive Thematic Analysis (RTA) associated with ISO 9241-11 indicators and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework. The results showed that 70% of students experienced difficulty using the advanced search feature, took an average of five minutes to find a book title, and 60% considered the OPAC interface less intuitive. The main obstacles included an interface that was less user-friendly, low digital literacy, and minimal socialization from librarians. These findings expand the theoretical understanding of the relationship between digital literacy and perceived ease of use in the context of vocational education, while also emphasizing the importance of a user-centered design (UCD) approach in OPAC development. This study recommends simplifying the interface, integrating OPAC training into student orientation programs, and strengthening the role of librarians in digital literacy support, so that OPAC can be optimally utilized to support academic activities.

Abstract

This study focuses on the dynamics of condominium ownership as a form of vertical housing in urban areas of Indonesia, which involves not only the ownership of private space but also rights and obligations over common areas. The issues that arise are closely related to legal, social, and governance aspects, particularly in the utilization and management of shared facilities, which often lead to conflicts among residents. The research method employed is a qualitative approach with normative-juridical and empirical analysis. Data were obtained through literature review, regulatory analysis, and in-depth interviews with condominium residents, managers, and other relevant stakeholders. The findings indicate that there remains a gap between the legal regulations governing condominium ownership and actual practices in the field. The main obstacles lie in weak supervision, low legal awareness among residents, and overlapping authorities between managers and unit owners. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of strengthening more operational regulations, enhancing managerial capacity, and providing legal education to the community in order to create harmonious and equitable condominium governance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy and locus of control on financial behavior within the K-pop fan community in Medan City. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon of consumptive lifestyles among K-pop fans, most of whom come from the younger generation. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method with 96 respondents who are members of the K-pop community in Medan. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression tests with the assistance of SPSS 25 software. The results of the study show that, partially, financial literacy has a significant influence on financial behavior (0.000 < 0.05), while locus of control does not have a significant influence on financial behavior (0.724 > 0.05). However, through simultaneous testing (F-test), it was found that financial literacy and locus of control together have a significant influence on financial behavior (0.000 < 0.05). These findings highlight the importance of improving financial literacy among the younger generation to encourage healthy financial behavior, particularly within communities with consumptive tendencies. Therefore, community-based financial education becomes an important strategy in facing the demographic bonus era
